Carson Wentz TRADE? ESPN Says Vikings QB Could Be Traded Before NFL Trade Deadline!

[Music] What’s going on everybody? You are watching Vikings now by chat sports. My name is Patrick Seatman and coming up on today’s show, it’s a wild one because ESPN threw out a insane Carson Wentz trade idea and kind of hinted that he could be on the move before the NFL trade deadline. And then also second half of today’s show, some very concerning Vikings injury news and this offensive line could look so different than what it did this past week. So we’ll talk about that here in a second. But before we dive into it, speaking about Carson Wentz, big time spot for this Vikings team. If you could somehow move the three and two, you’re getting healthy after the buy. That could spark a run for this team this season. But if you drop this week’s game to the Cleveland Browns, move the two and three, the playoffs are starting to seem unlikely. So you guys let me know. Do you have faith in W once this weekend against the Browns? Give me a Y for yes or give me an N for no. You guys let me know your thoughts down below. All right. So ESPN was talking about some quarterbacks that could be traded before the NFL trade deadline and they put Carson Wentz’s name in there. So I’ll share with you guys a full quote talking about what they were uh saying. This was actually Dan Graciano who said this, but he was asked if or true or false if a quarterback will get traded before the deadline. He said true. than he goes. Now, it could be someone such as Carson Wentz or Kenny Picket, which wouldn’t exactly make headlines, but I think you’re asking if it could be someone such as Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson or one of the Cleveland rookies. Anything’s possible. It doesn’t feel like Wilson has a real role in New York where rookie Jackson Dart is now the starter and Jameus Winston is signed through 2026 to be his backup. Wilson’s trade value is uh also likely very low right now. So, the Giants might have to wait until someone gets desperate to ship him out. But, you know, at the front part of that quote, I am shocked Wentz’s name was even mentioned. I didn’t think we would get any kind of clickbay articles or anything suggesting that the Vikings could move on from Carson Wentz because who would want Carson Wentz? Like really, the only team I could think about is like the Cincinnati Bengals or maybe if another team gets a quarterback injury, but even if they’re going to go, you know, not allin and trade for a quarterback, but if they are going to make a move, wouldn’t that be for like a Russell Wilson or a Kurt Cousins? I still don’t understand why the Bengals haven’t traded for Kirk Cousins, but maybe if Carson Wentz plays well this upcoming Sunday, you know, standalone game across the pond in London, maybe the Bengals call. But I really don’t understand why Graziano was throwing that out there because one, why would the Vikings have too much interest in dealing Carson Wentz and then why would anyone have interest in trading for Carson Wentz? Like there’s a reason why he was signed just a couple of weeks before the season. But maybe if he plays well on Sunday, maybe the Bengals call. Because if he does play well, you could chalk it up to two of his first three games were good football because Wentz’s first to Bengals. Again, he wasn’t asked to do a whole lot, but he played good enough to have the Vikings get a blowout victory. 14 of 20, 173 yards, two touchdowns, did take three sacks. And that’s been the number one gripe, at least for me personally, with Carson Wentz in his play. He just takes too many bad sacks. Like, you know, all the pressure looks that he was getting over the last two weeks. Guys are just kind of running free at him and he just has no feel in the pocket. But then against the Steelers, he obviously struggled, you know, throwing for 315 passing yards. That looks good on paper, but I felt like throughout the whole game, he was just inconsistent throwing the football. He didn’t really have any feel in the pocket. He put the ball in harm’s way multiple times. Should have probably had four turnovers in that game, but he also was sacked six times. But the rushing yards, I would do want to see Wentz use his legs just a little more this upcoming week. And listen, there’s no doubt like Wentz can be a competent quarterback still when it all when it’s all going well around him. Now, the Vikings, the rest of their team, they didn’t really do Wentz any favors this past week against the Steelers. Like the pre- snap penalties, you know, even the penalties where it’s like second and 10, then you get a false start, then it’s second and 15. There’s really not much you could do. And also with the offensive line getting their ass handed to him by the Steelers front, like Wentz was not set up for success. So hopefully the Vikings can do a better job this weekend against the Browns and just feel or just get him in more advantageous situations because if they don’t, it could be another long day for the offense. San Vegas has overunder in this game at 35 and a half. Now, that’s because Dylan Gabriel is making his first start against Brian Flores. We’re also rookie quarterbacks are 0 and4 against Flores so far, but it’s also because they don’t really trust the Vikings offensive line and Carson Wentz going up against that Browns defense. But, you know, I will say if the Vikings are able to move WZ in a trade, if they could somehow get a sixth round pick out of them and then in total you would be getting a fifth, a seventh, and a sixth round pick for Sam Holl and Carson Wentz. Obviously, you would probably have to attach, you know, maybe a seventh to Wentz and they already had to attach a six to How, but if you could still get three draft picks, upgrade two picks and but get three total in return, that would be pretty good value from Quaz. Um, but also, I don’t know why the Vikings would have too much interest in trading Wentz. Now, maybe they’re just saying, “Hey, we view Max Broer as a long-term backup. You know, JJ getting healthy after the buy. Maybe they trade him during the by-week if the team like the Bengals is like, “You know what? We could get, you know, something out of Carson on Wes that we’re not getting out of Jake Browning.” But I ask you guys this, pick a backup quarterback for the rest of the season when JJ does come back hopefully for week seven. Even though KOC, I don’t know if it’s just his typical coach talk, but also I’m starting to have doubts that JJ’s even going to be 100% for week seven. But I’m still guessing he will be. But who do you guys want to be the backup for JJ McCarthy? Give me a 12 for Max Bromer or give me an 11 for Carson Wentz. Now, we’ll talk about the very concerning Vikings injury news around another offensive lineman here in a second, but today’s episode is brought to you guys by Prize Pix. And you and I make decisions every day, but on Prize Pick, being right can get you paid. So, don’t miss any of the excitement this football season on Prize Pix, where it’s good to be right. So, if you guys could download the Prize Pix app today, plug in that promo code CNS. We’ll hook you guys up with $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. But that’s code CNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Shout out to Prize Fix for sponsoring today’s show. It’s good to be right. Oh, the good old injury bug. It is just killing this Vikings team this year and we might have an unreal offensive line combination this upcoming week against the Cleveland Browns. So the Vikings, they were practicing um today in London and Al was tweeting this out which was uh not good. Um he said Michael Jurgens wasn’t practicing. No Andrew Van Ginkle, no JJ McCarthy, even though he was out there. Uh Christian Darasaw had a scheduled rest day, but good news CJ Ham was out there. I’m curious to see how much fullback usage the Vikings will have. um with CJ Hanback in the fold, but no Michael Jurgens, no Ryan Kelly. Who the hell is going to start at center? Kevin Oonnell said it’s probably going to be Blake Brandell. Now, you guys may be saying, “Well, why is Blake Brandell starting at center?” You know, clearly he must have some experience in the past being a center. He has zero snaps in college, preseason, NFL, regular season at center. and you’re going up against Mason Graham, Emily Collins on the Browns defensive line. This does not look good. Well, now you may be asking yourself, well Patrick, if Brandell’s playing center, Donovan Jackson’s still out, who the hell is going to play left guard? My best guess is this is going to be the Vikings offensive line in week five. Still got Christian Darasel, Wolf R. They’re locked in. Then I think the three other guys, you would probably go Joe Huber at left guard. Who Huber I remain optimistic on him. He was [ __ ] unbelievable in the preseason. So hopefully he can maintain that play. But then also Blake Brenell at center. I mean that just looks weird. I mean he this guy was a swing tackle coming out of college. Vikings bumped him inside. Now he’s going to be possibly your starting center. Now you got our good old friend Justin School at right tackle. But I think the Vikings if you’re rolling out the offensive line of Darasaw Huber Blake Brandell at center, Will Fry at right guard and Justin School at right tackle. That has to be the worst offensive line in the NFL heading into week five. I am very confident when I say that. Like you got UDFA, seventh rounders besides Darasaw and Will Fry where Will Fry really hasn’t been that good this year. I mean, you have three massive holes on that offensive line. So, I think it’s the worst offensive line in the league heading to week five. But this is not like it’s an unsolvable problem. How do you solve this? Because other head coaches, other offensive minds, they can navigate a poor offensive line. How do you do that? It’s a quick passing game in the run game. Like you want to have these offensive linemen get going, get downhill a little bit, get the confidence going. You say, “Hey guys, we’re going to turn around and hand the ball off 40 times today.” You get the ball to Jordan Mason. You get Cam Acres going. Maybe get a little Xavier Scott going in the run game. But also in the passing game, KC, if you can’t have these long developing routes because your offensive line’s getting their ass kicked, get some quick game. You at least showed some of it with Justin Jefferson this past week. So, I do think KC will adjust. But here’s a full injury report for uh Wednesday here. A whole lot of DMPS. Christian Deros obviously uh not injury related, but Donovan Jackson still dealing with that risk. Michael Jurgens dealing with the hammy. Same with Ryan Kelly and his concussion. JJ with the ankle. Brian O’Neal with the knee. And Andrew Van Ginkle with his neck, which is definitely not good. And we’ll give you guys Van Ginkle stat here in a second. But I have some positive injury news. Um Miles Garrett did not practice on Wednesday, which uh you know, maybe this is a soft benching that the Bronx are doing to Miles Garrett. If you know, you know. But I mean, if he’s not out there, that would be absolutely be massive for this team. I think he’s the best defender in the world. This guy’s just a game wrecker. So hopefully he doesn’t end up going, but I fully expect 95 to be out there for the Browns this weekend. Now, with Andrew Van Genko possibly not going, I saw this stat earlier and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Uh the Vikings rush defensive success rate with Van Ginkle on the field. They’re the best in the league, number one by also a wide margin, but then when he’s off the field, they’re terrible. They’re 31st in the league. So clearly not having Blake Cashman, not having Van Ginkle are huge losses for this defense, but they’re still top 10 in every statistical category. So again, I know times are very, very tough right now as a Vikings fan. Like we got a lot of injuries. We had high expectations coming into the year, but this team has been so beat up. If you get Van Genko back and Cashman back, I still think this is a top three defense in the league. And then you are just hoping week seven when you’re getting, you know, Donovan Jackson. Hopefully Kelly’s all good. Hopefully O’Neal’s all good. When you’re having that uh five offensive linemen that you were hoping were going to be your starting unit for the year, you get those guys back. You get JJ back. Aaron Jones also back in the fold. Now we got Addison back in the fold. Like I understand times are tough right now, but just stay positive because this team, we really haven’t gotten an evaluation on the 2025 Minnesota Vikings. We haven’t even seen what their max potential could be, but it could start week seven when they uh get fully healthy. And if you guys want the Vikings to be healthy for week seven, just give me a skull down below in the comments section. I can’t wait. Like obviously I’m excited for this week five game, but that bye-week is going to feel like a month long if you could somehow get a win cuz I would be so fired up. Week seven defending champs in your building. Hopefully JJ’s back there. Hopefully he got the guys back. So, if you guys want to be uh the Vikings to be healthy for that game, just hit me with the skull down below and also help us reach 63,000 subscribers on your way out. 1. They should think about moving Fries next to Darrisaw to better protect the blind side. Then they could focus the help to the side with the backups. And maybe try to run behind 71 and Fries

  2. I just got a huge fish on the line but ripped through the new 10# line on my reel … bit it clean with not much fight.. fishing middle of mn go vikes but doubt it this year.. go vikings… fish swim better than people in water.

  3. Honestly, realizing this dude probably never played football makes me mad I even started listening to him try and talk about it. He thinks the QB is always the problem, just like every random who has never played the sport actually and just spectated. All football players know it starts with the O line. Stop blaming Carson cause you want a 22 year old so bad. That offensive line is absolutely atrocious and Josh Allen couldn’t do any better with it.
