New York Yankees Highlights: Wild Card Game 2 vs Boston Red Sox

[Music] [Applause] [Music] One, two, and he got it. A good slider from Rodan. He can go down and in or he can go back door. This time he goes back door with it. You see ref Snider little foul tip. See the numbers against righty sub 200 22 he’s gone backto back punch outs to start for Rodon as he gets refer and story but the slider is still the kill pitch for him always has been it’s a 40% whiff rate on this pitch this year in his postseason 14 of 15 when it comes to stolen bases and now Ben Rice he swings and hits it hard to right and Ben Rice is back and the Yankees are on the board. A two-run home run off Beo to get it started. The dominance that Brian Beo has had at this stadium soon as he hit it this ballpark seenor Aros Mr. Ben Rice putting the Yankees up by two. And the captain applauding the youngster. There he goes. Carlos Rodon. He is face six. He has struck out half. He threw six. All of them were first strikes. What an inning. And that’s a start. He picks up a strike out of Ref Snider. This year in particular is that change up and excellent action down and away. And Ref Snider’s tough on lefties and has been tough on Rodon in his career, but that one is up the middle. It’s going to get down. Gisham Fields and he will throw it into third base. We are tied. Trevor Story delivers an RBI that plates two on that single. Hits it right back to straightaway center for that base hit to drive into. Clutch hitting by Story. Brand new ball game here in the third inning. Bregman Schis fires to Fulpy to first. Nice double play by the Yankees to end the threat that the Red Sox were putting on. Not an easy one to the New York Yankees. It’s not only the bat and the legs, it’s the defense. Great turn and feed to Bulpi. Strong arm and every manager is aware of that. Some have more autonomy than others. 3-2 and he got him to chase a fourse fast ball at 96. He picks up another strikeout and Rodon has five. That lands on the corner and he’s gone. He doesn’t necessarily agree with Scott Barry, but Rodon picks up another strike out. That’s six. Well, Rodon’s got the ability to back door that slider even though Wells is sitting up kind of anticipating in. He’s quietly is able to frame that. Does he challenge him with a fast ball on a 2-2? Judge lifts it to left. Durant running, drops the ball. Gisham will score and the Yankees have the lead. Jiren Durant had it in his glove and it popped out. Slanton makes a good pitch. Ball off the end of the bat. I’ll correct myself. 9.9 out of 10 times he gets that ball. Yeah, he just planked it. Sllayton did make a a good pitch. I think the glove actually got in the way in the visual way to catch the baseball. Swing and a drive left field. Bellinger back. Gone. Trevor Storybook season continues with a game tying solo shot. And just like that, it’s 3-3 down the mound. A two- fast ball right down Broadway. And Story is all over it. [Applause] Back up the middle. Fielded cleanly. He’ll throw high to Vulpi. And Anthony Vulpi does a great job to come down on the base and make the throw to first to double up low. to Austin Wells and he lines one into right field. Fair ball. Chism to third. He’s being waved. Eaton coming home. Here’s the throw. He’s safe. And the Yankees have the lead on Austin Wells. Single and the speed of Chisum. The Jazz Chisum able to go with two outs on the pitch. change up. Beautiful slide. A two out rally set up all via the walk and he delivered a 97 mph heater to strike out William Abra trying to pull it. Swings right under it. He got to throw a strike and he did. [Applause] Cole strike three. Frozen. 98 backto back punch outs. One out away from forcing a game three. And this one is driven to right. Judge going back. Still back right there at the wall. And redemption for the Yankees. They win it 43. And there will be a game three in this wildcard series. [Music]

  1. wow…gutsy win for the boys tonight…play the right line up and get the result necessary…lets bring it home tomorrow 🙏🏼⚾️💙

  2. Sox had this game with runners on 1 and 2 none out I think 7 inning but no palying for a run and doing some sound baseball strategy lets swing for the fences totally stupid in playoffs.

  3. i might have to agree with you on that one cause 100 plus years of gruling seasons 162 games now and not easy easy on the mind and body for the player's give them their due respect for making it to the playoffs not as easy as you think 🤔
