I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Lombardi is not a center at the nhl level and it’s going to be tough for him to crack the roster if he doesn’t flip to the wing.

So basically Finnie, MBN, Mazur, ASP, Wallinder and Postava as the prospects sticking around for now.
My bet is Mazur makes the team.
Can someone explain if all NHLers have the chance of not making the 23 man roster on opening night and what happens if they don’t? Guys like Compher, Rasmussen, etc – if they don’t make the first 23, do they have to clear waivers before playing in GR? Can they have contracts stipulating they won’t play in the AHL? I wonder because that could make it harder for the kids to get a spot on opening night.
They need to trim 5 more, guessing they’ll carry 13 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies.
Postava is probably going to GR (don’t see them carrying 3 goalies again)
On D, it is easiest to send ASP and Wallinder down, but they’ve waived Holl before, and Hamonic is easy to waive/bury the salary in the AHL. They probably wouldn’t feel bad about scratching JBD or Gustafsson if they feel the young guys earned a spot… I see a possibility that one of ASP or Wallinder CAN make it, but it is still a bit of a long shot. We’ll see.
They also have 15 forwards, so need to drop 2 to get to 13. There are 3 young guys left, Mazur, MBN and Finnie. Someone can be scratched for a young guy to make it. If they feel like JVR needs some more time to ramp back up, if they feel someone like Soderblom, Berggren or Rasmussen didn’t do enough to keep a spot. I’d LOVE to see MBN make it. Mazur or Finnie could be a better fit in the bottom 6, though. Bummer Danielson got hurt, seemed like McLellan really liked him and he had a shot.
It would be great if we could unload a Compher or Rasmussen or Berggren to open up some roster spots, I don’t see any of them being waived. Good to know we have some young guys ready to step in when injuries strike, though.

Wallinder getting one more look, I hope he’s making steps and we see him at some point if there are injuries or else next year. Todd said we were going 11-7 today I’m glad it was for a kid. Need one of the LD kids to take another step.
With danielson being injured but not sent down yet, are they waiting for him to be cleared before sending him down or is him not being sent down yet meaning he has a chance to make the final roster ?
I wanted Lombardi to make it, but he didn’t really show enough when the competition level went up.
Kinda curious why were not giving Cossa more reps?
