UPDATED 2025 Pittsburgh Steelers Record Prediction After 3-1 Start Heading Into The Bye
[Music] Welcome in to Steelers Talk. I’m your host, Jack Sperry. Today I am updating my Steelers record prediction after their threein-one start to the 2025 NFL campaign. Of course, we kind of have a better feel for this schedule now that we’ve seen all these teams play a month of football here, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and all of their opponents. So today I’m going to be updating my record prediction. I’ll let you guys know whether I think the Steelers can win the the AFC North here in 2025. But before we get into my updated record prediction here today, make sure you guys click that thumbs up icon if you believe in this year’s squad. If you think that this year’s Steelers team is different from years past and you think that this team has a good shot at winning a playoff game for the first time in a very long time, make sure you guys click that thumbs up icon if you haven’t already. And with that, let’s start here with what the Steelers have done to this point in the 2025 NFL season. They start their year 3-1 and first place in the AFC North. Uh they started their season with a very uh you know uh encouraging win offensively versus the New York Jets on the road being able to score 34 points and still win the ball game there. Then you lose a very disappointing game uh at home in the home opener there versus the Seattle Seahawks. Some really bad mistakes uh late in that game. Caleb Johnson giving up a touchdown. Calvin Austin sacrificing another touchdown by tipping that ball up into the air in that scramble drill. Um, and that’s really the the difference there in that football game. All right, that’s 14 point difference in that game and those two plays cost you 14 points. So maybe if those two things don’t happen, we’re sitting here at 4-0 because in week three, you get a 21 to4 victory. clutch performance there getting the last second a last minute touchdown drive to Calvin Austin the third and then uh you really play your best game of the season versus the Minnesota Vikings and you hold on at the end for a final score of 24-21. So you’re sitting at 3-1. You’re sitting in a pretty darn good spot right now heading into the bye-week. But now let’s talk about what the Steelers have ahead of them as the season goes on. We’ll start here in week six and I think that the Steelers will fill up the win column yet again here with a win over the Browns. Uh they’re going to be having Dylan Gabriel out there who is the size of Kyler Murray with the arm strength of Tua Tonga Valoa. I don’t think he’s going to be very good this year, guys. And then you take into account that Mike Tomlin is excellent against rookie quarterbacks. He’s excellent coming off of a buy and the Steelers are going to be home trying to get their first win at Acer Stadium this season. I think they’re going to be playing very inspired football. They’re going to be fresh uh coming off the buy. I think that that is a victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And then I also have them beating uh the Cincinnati Bengals. I really like the matchup between the Steelers and the Bengals this year. I think the jumbo formations and the run game that the Steelers have is going to absolutely run through the Cincinnati Bengals defense. They have some of the worst linebacker play that I have seen on film in the NFL in a very long time. That defense is not fixed and they don’t have Joe Burrow. So, the offense is is probably not going to be able to uh keep up. That is of course going to be the prime time debut for the Pittsburgh Steelers and I think they’re going to impress a lot of people uh with a pretty uh convincing victory in week seven. But then in week eight, I think it’s going to be a very competitive game. Of course, you’re wearing those uh ugly alternates. I’m sorry, guys. I don’t like those. I like the helmets. I don’t like the jerseys, but you’re going to be wearing those alternates at home on prime time football versus the Green Bay Packers. I think Matt Lafleur uh is going to have a really good game plan. I think that defense and that pass rush in particular. I think Brick Jones will probably struggle to protect Aaron Rodgers. Um, and I think that although I think the Steelers will be competitive in that ball game, I think the Packers probably win a close one there uh for the next time I expect the Steelers to lose a football game. And then unfortunately, another guy that seems to have Mike Tomlin’s number is Shane Stiken, who has beaten, uh, you know, Mike Tomlin and has put up big numbers with quarterbacks that haven’t played as well as Daniel Jones has through the first few weeks of the season. I think the Colts are one of the more wellbalanced teams in the National Football League right now. They got a good run game. They got good weapons, um, good pass protection, a a good defense that is actually really underrated. And then I think Shane Styen is one of the best offensive play callers in football. Unfortunately, I have the Steelers losing that game as well at home. And then I’m going to have them lose week 10 as well versus the Los Angeles Chargers. Um, and you know, the Chargers are a very well-run football team with John Harbaugh. They’re going to have Joe Alt back at that point. Um, you know, that defense is a really good team as well. That’s a tough place uh to play there on the road. I know the Steelers fans are going to be uh definitely filling up Sofi Stadium as they usually do when they go to LA. I certainly think the Steelers can pull out that victory, but I’m being a little bit conservative here. I’m going to have them lose versus the Chargers cuz Justin Herbert is an awesome quarterback. Might win MVP this year. And then week 11, I’m going to have them beat the Cincinnati Bengals and sweep the Pussycats this year. Like I said, I really like the matchup between the Steelers and Cincinnati this year. I think they’re going to be able to run the football extremely effectively against that football team this year. And even in years past when their offenses haven’t been as good as this year’s Steelers team, they were still able to put up 30 plus points pretty consistently against Cincinnati. So, I feel good about the sweep there for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And coming up here on today’s show, I’m going to be uh predicting the final stretch here. How many of these uh final games do I think that the Steelers can win? Do I think they can beat the Bills? Do I think they can beat the Ravens? Let me I’ll let you guys know the answers to those questions here in just one moment. But first, let’s have a word from our sponsor today at Prize Picks. You and I, we both make decisions every single day. But on Prize Picks, being right can actually get you paid. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup on the Prize Pick app today. Prize Pick, it’s good to be right. All right, now the home stretch here, ladies and gentlemen. I’m going to have Aaron Rogers beat uh the Chicago Bears uh at Soldier Field for probably the last time in his uh NFL career here. Uh he owns the Chicago Bears. He’s played awesome at Soldierfield his entire career. I think that trend continues and I think Caleb Williams has a difficult time uh playing against this Steelers defense. But then in week 13, once again, I think the Steelers can be competitive against the Buffalo Bills, but Josh Allen is Josh Allen. And you know, I think that this game uh could be a tossup by the time we get to week 13 and the Steelers are playing good football, but if I have to bet my life on it right now, I will take the Buffalo Bills to take that football game. Uh they’re the favorites right now to be the number one seed in the AFC, frankly, by far. Um so it’s going to be if the Steelers can win that game, I think that that will be a true litmus test as to just how competitive they can be in the AFC this season. Then I’m going to have them win a very impressive win on the road versus the Baltimore Ravens. I expect the Ravens will be better at that point in the season. Lamar Jackson will be fully back. Um, you know, I expect the a lot of the injuries that they have on defense will be better. I think their defense will be better than what it is right now. If you don’t know, the Ravens actually have are dead last in scoring defense through the first four weeks of the season. It’s been a terrible defense. Um, but I think that they’re going to be playing better football down the stretch, but I like the Steelers matchup versus the Baltimore Ravens this year. Going to have them win in Baltimore in week 14. Then in week 15, I’m going to have them dominate the Miami Dolphins. I think at that point, Mike McDaniel probably be fired. Um, and of course, they don’t have Tyreek Hill. I think that, you know, that’s going to be a cold weather game at Akasher Stadium late in the season. Don’t really see the Dolphins uh going into Pittsburgh and winning that one. But then I’m going to have them lose to the Detroit Lions on the road. That’s a tough place to play. Um, that’s a good offense that can run the football, has a really good offensive line. Um, I think that that is a good Detroit Lions football club, uh, that is well coached and I think that the Steelers unfortunately probably take the loss there in week 16. But then, uh, in week 17, I’m going to have them sweep the Cleveland Browns, uh, going to Cleveland. And at that point, Dylan Gabriel or Shadur Sanders, whoever’s starting for them at that point, it’s probably going to be a little bit more settled in than what they’re what we’re going to see from these guys in week six. But again, uh, Mike Tomlin is excellent against rookie quarterbacks. I think that this offense is good enough to, you know, put up enough points to win versus Cleveland’s pretty darn good defense. Um, and this is one is a little one that I’m a little bit worried about because, you know, I because plain simply, guys, I’m I’m having them completely sweep the AFC North this year with the Baltimore Ravens in week 18. Like I said, I like the matchup that the Steelers have uh with the Ravens this year. Uh usually they play very well against Lamar Jackson typically and because the Ravens defense this year is so much worse than it’s been in previous seasons. I think it provides a great opportunity uh for the Steelers to really run ramshot over the AFC North. And of course uh with my updated record prediction here, I have the Steelers finishing with an 11 and6 record. Um and obviously that’s the best record that they have had in quite a while if that’s if that’s what they’re able to do. And honestly, I’m being a little conservative here guys. I think they could beat the Bills. I think they could beat the Los Angeles Chargers. I think they could beat the Green Bay Packers. So, they could, you know, fill up the wid column even more here. Um, but I think 11 wins should be enough to win this division this season. All right. The Baltimore Ravens have started their year off one and three. And now Lamar Jackson might miss a game or two over the next few weeks. And if they lose those games, uh, and they continue to lose ball games, you know, it’s just going to be more and more difficult for the Ravens to bounce back. uh with Joe Burrow out for multiple months and the defense looking as bad as it is in Cincinnati. I think they might even finish last in this division. It’s not out of the question because Cleveland’s defense is pretty good and I think Dylan Gabriel uh might play well enough to get them at least a couple of victories. Uh but plain simply guys, this is not a good division outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think this is clearly the most well-balanced football team in the division. And as long as the Steelers can keep it up, as long as they can stay healthy, all those things, um, I think they should be heavy favorites to win the AFC North this year. Terms of the range, I could see them getting up as high as like 12 wins. Um, you know, I think that they could maybe add a win between uh the games of Green Bay, Los Angeles, Buffalo, those types of games. I think they could probably probably win one of those games. Um, but probably not multiple of them. Uh, just being a little bit conservative there. and then uh the floor. You know, it’s still possible that, you know, injuries happen. It’s still possible that, you know, maybe the offense, you know, just completely uh collapses. You know, maybe the the coverage issues we’ve seen on the Steelers defense continue and that ends up uh being the demise of the Pittsburgh Steelers. But what’s crazy, guys, is nine wins still might win the division. If the Ravens lose these next two games and they start one and five heading into their by-week, um you know, nine wins might be something that still puts you in contention by the end of the season for the division. So, um, that’s kind of crazy to say because I think a lot of people expected this division to be quite good this year, but, uh, playing simply outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers, uh, it’s not looking too great for the rest of the AFC North. And honestly, guys, a home playoff game would be huge for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their quest to finally win a playoff game. They haven’t done that uh, obviously since 2016, the 2016 season when they went to the AFC Championship game. And they’ve lost a bunch of games in a row in the playoffs. And part of the reason for that is, you know, you you’ve had to travel to teams like Kansas City and you had to travel to Buffalo and you had to travel to Baltimore, but you also lost a couple of uh of home playoff games as well. That is completely unacceptable. But I think this year’s team, all right, guys, is best set up probably since 2017 to win a playoff game. You got a really great uh game manager type quarterback that is still an all-time great guy that can throw the ball with supreme arm talent and accuracy. I think you I think this team has really found something with these jumbo personnel looks in the run game. Um that I think is going to really be the identity of this offense. I think it’s going to open up the deep passing game as well for Rogers and company. And I think this defense, the more they play with each other is going to get better and better as the season goes on. So, I think by season’s end, if you can have uh, you know, an 11 win record, maybe a 12- win record, you get that AFC North championship, you get that playoff game at Acer Stadium, it increases the chances that you win one playoff game. And if you can win one playoff game, guys, as I say, you can go on a run. So, predict it for me down there in the comments section. Is this the year that the Steelers finally win a playoff game? Give me a yes or a no down there in the comments section. I believe this is a year where they can win a playoff game, guys. Let me know what you guys think down there in the comments section. Is this the year the Steelers finally win a playoff game? Yes or No?
Spoke to soon that 4 out of 4 Ls
So all 5 games against contenders are a loss
Nice to know for 100% that these are your opinions. Because they are I'd say 70% inaccurate. But it's ok to be delusional. Losing to the Colts and Chargers is just a horrible take. I think they can even beat the Packers. But not this channel. 😂
So basically pick us to lose to every good team? How or when does this happen?
They win 1 of the 3 games in wreks 8_10
Absolutely this year the Steelers have a chance to win the Superbowl if they keep developing and stay healthy down the stretch
I think we're gonna dominate from here on out as long as we stay healthy and competitive we'll continue to win games and possibly go on to win the Superbowl..could happen.. never know 😅
Hello. I just gained 1,000 subscribers in one week. Soon youll be catching up to me. Either way my friend im a steelers fan
So any team that is good the Steelers will lose
Thanks
Yeah ps4life 🖤💛
Bruh. Sheduer Sanders would be starting for the Ravens rn if he didn’t self sabotage so hard during the draft
11-6.
Get out of here with your predictions!
Ok, this ain't no ( Shudda, Wudda, Cudda ) Butttttt, if like u said, Kaleb J, just downz the 🏉 & CA3 get outta Patz way, we're ( 4 & 0 ) until last game, either offense looks great, R defense looks great.. but we Find wayz 2 get Dubz.. in Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 whole team Lukz gud.. Tomlin, wit dat Bull 💩 at the End cudda got us in trouble, but we pulled it off.. if we follow this projectory , we get better az we Go.. I think we can get ( 13 Winz Easy ) Remember our ( Defense ) Luked better than ( Brian Flores ) & thatz a Great Luk.. Go Steelerz ⚫️ & 🟡 Baby..
12-5
It would be nice to have an actual Steelers fan to do this show. They could actually rep the team and the fans. Especially someone who doesn't live in Dallas of all places.
Packers lost to the browns,,Steelers will still only have 1 loss in that stretch
yeah, I don’t see them losing three games in the row. I see them beating the Colts.
There's no way Steelers losing 3 games in a row. You are quite the pessimist Jack
We lost to every playoff team
Bro!!..you on one!!…3 losses in a row?!?.. I really don’t think Green Bay is as good as people say, especially us playing in Pittsburgh
I 100% disagree with these picks. Browns and ravens will beat us once. We will beat the packers and lions
Man you don't have any faith in our Steelers if you think we'll lose every harder game. I mean Really? You think we suck that bad that the Steelers won't win any tough games? Sounding like you have no faith at all in them. We seem to be getting better ever week and in a month from now they should be a better team then now and if they do get better as they go we might go 12-5 maybe better but I'm not going to say that at this time.
You could of just said u think we lose to anymore who will be in playoffs instead of wasting 13 mins
Who mans is this
Honestly it all depends on Rogers staying healthy. We lose him and all bets are off. I’ll refrain from looking past the next game. Pleasantly surprised to be where we are though 😊
Most definitely!!
The thing is we play down and play up, I think we end up around 11-6 also, but I don’t think it’s as clean as we lose to good team and beat bad ones. I think we win against pack lions bears, lose one to the browns bills etc. The divisional games always are tough for us
I had the exact same predictions in terms of wins and losses and at best I’ve got us going 10-3 health being a huge key factor, followed by the play of the offensive line and Receiver core. Beautiful analysis very well done on adding some objectivity here. Great video Steelers Talk I’ve been a long time fan and videos like this are why keep up the fantastic work and God bless.
Good conservative prediction, but I personally see us beating GB at home, the Colts, and the Chargers. Chargers game is practically a home game with the crowd bias and even Cleveland beat GB. Not saying it'll be easy, but I think some combination of home field advantage plus Rodgers wanting to stick it to his old team, we find a way to get that one statement win. Totally still have us losing to Buffalo and Detroit, but I think those games are going to be a lot more competitive then people think. I had us going 12-5 originally, but now that I know our division is trash, I guess it's 14-3.
Yes
He’s saying he’s pretty confident in this team but no wins against playoff teams makes no sense
Yes
I have the Steelers only losing 3 more regular season games. Mike Tomlin is 4 and 1 in his career in the regular season against Green Bay. He has 2 losses if you include the Super Bowl against Rodgers. I have the Steelers only losing to the Seattle, the Colts, Bills, and Lions. I have them sweeping the AFC North. The final record will be 13 and 4.
what is this horseshit losing to three teams in a row? the chargers and packers are overrated. maybe we lose to indy. also we are beating buffalo that’s on my life
I think it’s downright criminal that you don’t think we’re going to beat the Packers but win against the Browns that beat them… I think we win that game.
Yes
We need another wide receiver and a Alec Pierce pick up is a no-brainer. I don’t know what Omar Khan is doing. He’s all in one minute and he’s not being proactive the next. I just don’t understand it.
Yes !!!
Well, good to be conservative bc most likely they will be better than that
This is a good overall prediction. I also suspect us to win/lose atleast 1 game were not supposed to. Whether we win the division really depends on whether the Ravens turnaround their season because right now without Burrow Cincinnati is nothing and the Brown's have a good D but with a rookie QB it's just hard to believe they'll make a run.
