After hearing him blame himself for the wild card loss, I feel the need to say, Sal, don’t be that hard on yourself. You’re 21. It kills me to hear he was that upset with himself after the game. Bud, you’re playing in the Majors, starting, AND you made it to the playoffs! There will always be mistakes, this wasn’t all on you, get back up and keep going. Can’t wait to see what you guys can do next year!

That’s all!

  1. Hes a good kid. Hopefully we invest fully in him next year, because the dude can hit. Plain and simple.

  2. This kid is gonna be a great player. I can feel it. Hate to see him blame himself though.

  3. Sal exceeded my expectations. He hit well, and fielding issues are expected if any player is plugged into a position, let alone a twenty-one-year-old rookie. He did well and should be proud.

  4. Yeah, it’s not exactly fair to throw a 21 year old with 18 career games into a playoff game playing a position he’s only played 13 times in his entire professional career. He was going to make a mistake at some point, it just really sucks it came in a pivotal moment. He’ll learn from it and end up better for it. He could end up being a really good player.

  5. Sounds like a hungry competitor. Love his attitude. Says he’s gonna get to work and wants to make it back to the playoffs.

  6. He’s a dog. 3 years ago he was in high school, yesterday he was slapping a base hit for two rbis against the best team in baseball

  7. Speaks volumes this is his take. Hope we get to see him in a Reds uniform for the next decade.

  8. This is a future locker room leader. He’s going to have a long great career ahead of him.

I love this kid. You made it, Sal.
