This is genuinely INSANE… | Cincinnati Bengals News
This is genuinely insane. With the recent struggles on offense of Jake Browning at quarterback, the Bengals are linked to a possible player that just retired this year. We’ll talk about the report and what the likelihood is that the Bengals decide to move on from Jake Browning and move on to other options at the quarterback position. Welcome to the jungle. This is Isaac Kaufman with Bengals Digest. Happy to see you Bengals fans. And if you want to get in on the discussion, there’s so much to get to on what the season has brought so far. Comment down below. We want to hear your thoughts on how you’re feeling. What do you think of the situation of the Bengals offense that seems to not be finding its spark? This has been something that the Bengals have been their bread and butter, and it’s been anything but that. So, we’d love to hear from you. Comment below. Also, smash that subscribe button so you’ll be all up to date when our new videos drop. So, with this offense struggling, we’re seeing a lot of reports. There’s trade reports. Russell Wilson has been tied to the team. There’s been possibly Jameus Winston. You also have Kirk Cousins. Those types of names have been popping up because of the struggles. Yes, it has been that bad. It cannot be sugarcoated. Even if you’re a Bengals fan, you have to admit this is just worst case scenario for the Bengals. losing Joe Burrow for at least 3 months and in his absence Jake Browning just hasn’t produced and it can’t be entirely his fault. Let’s not put all the blame of they would be winning games if he would be performing better. Well, he would be performing better if you had a better offensive line, if you had a defense that could at least be solid, at least put in the stops like they have shown at certain times they’re capable of doing. And even just the mental mistakes, 11 penalties against Denver. More penalties than they had first downs. Just just mindblowing. Can’t can’t get over that stat. So, what are we going to keep hearing? We’re probably going to keep hearing reports such as this one. Uh, insider wonders if the Bengals should give Derek Carr a call. Uh, just a update on Derek Carr. He retired at the beginning of the year. He had a lot of injuries and one being was shoulder surgery. So, I don’t I don’t know. It’s just again, you’re looking at what are the other options out there outside of Jake Browning because Jake Browning has struggled. We’ll come back to his numbers, what that’s really going to add up to. But here is the report. We’ll just look at the report straight from uh Jeremy Fowler from ESPN. He says the Bengals still believe in Jake Browning, who is far from the only culprit in Denver on Monday, but Cincinnati has too much skill position talent to accept the status quo. At some point, it could need reinforcements at the game’s most important position. It might be worth calling recently retired Derek Carr to check on how his shoulder injury is healing. Okay, he does acknowledge that he had a shoulder injury and the thought was Derek Carr didn’t want to have to endure those types of surgeries have to rehab because that’s what he’d be looking at. He’d have to depending on how severe this shoulder surgery is really uh put himself through rehab, really be aggressive in being able to recover. But I just do not see this. I don’t understand other than you’re just seeing a big name. Stick that in there. The guy retired and this is my big argument on why this is just insane to think we need to go get Derek Carr and bring him out of retirement. If he’s fully healed, if he had the surgery, if he’s doing fine, okay, but I just do not see it. And the big huge hurdle the Bengals are going to have to do, not just with Derek Carr if they decide to give him a call and entertain him being the starter over Jake Browning. This is the hurdle that they are going to have to get over that being that offensive line. It’s it’s not to throw anybody under the bus or be harsh, but let’s just get with the facts here. This is a struggling offensive line. stats, eye test, all of it. It’s tough to watch. You can you can look at breakdown videos. They are out there all over the place. It’s becoming just kind of a joke. Unfortunately, I feel bad for these guys as a personal, as a human aspect. But when you look at the production on the field, pass blocking, if you were to ask me who did the best pass production, who had the best pass blocking against Denver, I would not have picked Ted Carris. He had a penalty. He was getting pushed back constantly all night. But yet on PFF’s grading, he was your best pass blocking offensive lineman. It It’s just a frustration. You have Caris, he was at a 68.9, not great. And at the bottom, it’s coming from Lance Mallister. I agree with his uh statements. Not sure that I knew scores went this low. Jaylen Rivers was at a 17.2 two for pass block protection. Not good. Not good. At one point, Denver rushed three guys and two of them got to Browning. You have a full offensive line and you can’t block three guys. Two of them. I mean, one getting through is bad enough, but two guys, it was pretty much untouched, too. So, both tackles, it was Orlando Brown and Amarius Mims. There’s something going on. There’s something as a unit. They’re not sinking together. There’s something with the chemistry of the offensive line is not in sync. Is that a coaching thing? Is that inexperienced because you have two rookies that and Fairchild and Rivers who came in? I don’t know. But this is this is my point. What quarterback wants to play behind that? And especially a guy that was retired is retired. What’s going to bring him out of retirement? a team that has a solid offensive line and has hopes for a Super Bowl. If this offensive line could produce, if the defense could step up, maybe you can make that discussion at least a playoff team. But with this offensive line, that alone, that would scare me away. Personally, I I wouldn’t want to come out of retirement and think, am I going to have another surgery coming up because who knows? I I’m going to be hit all day long. I just do not see it. I see the idea again. Let’s go out and get another quarterback. The Bengals should be looking at those options. I’m not going to excuse Jake Browning because going back to his production this year. He is just not cutting it. And again, we can make excuses all we want of the offensive line. Maybe it’s the play calling. There’s been a lot of discussion on that. The play calling has not been the best. But regardless, Jake Browning has a 42.4 for QBR rating so far this year and it’s a small sample size. I get it. We we’re through about three games that he’s played in and they’re just not good. It’s not good. Three touchdowns, five interceptions. Three of those were in one game. He has a overall quarterback rating 67.9. I just don’t I don’t know what the Bengals are going to do. There’s there’s not just one glaring weakness. There’s not just one problem that they need to address. Maybe if you do fix the offensive line, that does trickle into better quarterback play, better results from the wide receivers that you paid Jamar Chase and T. Higgins to pick up the slack for in these types of situations. They can only do so much. So maybe it is fix the offensive line first and everything else will fall into place. But you got to look at all facets, all of them. Even special teams has been struggling. every single phase has struggled so far and that’s what you’re going to get. But this this is just kind of you shake your head at me personally. I do not see this with Derek Carr. I see a Russell Wilson, Jameus Winston, you have them on the New York Giants, Jackson Dart is their new starter. It makes more sense in that scenario. But in the meantime, I I don’t know if they can keep going with Jake Browning. Again, this is it’s unfortunate. You know, he has shown in the past he can produce. He can just be a serviceable backup, but this is not at all what the Bengals were expecting. Bengals fans, everybody was not expecting this. I’m shocked this bad. Would he struggle? Certainly. Again, he’s a backup quarterback, but remains to be seen if the Bengals decide to sign because their backups, they’re not going to cut it. They’re not going to get this team back into playoff contention. Two and two. They are still in a position. They’re in that fork in the road where decisions need to be made made now. Now is the time to act. But we’ll have to stay tuned if they decide that they’re still confident in Jake Browning. That’s what the reports are saying. But hey, as a Bengals fan, you would hope that there was a little more security. Get a more veterans, experienced guy that can utilize this talent of Jamar Chase, T. Higgins, Chase Brown, Mikei, those guys. You got to look at all the options. That’s all I That’s how I personally feel. But stay tuned. Who knows what they’re thinking right now? We want to hear from you guys. Do you think it’s possible that the Bengals go after a guy like Derek Carr? Or who is another player that you prefer to see them sign? We want to hear from you guys. So, be sure you comment below and again, smash that subscribe so you’ll be all up to date when our new videos drop. So, that’s going to do it for now, guys. As we say

The Bengals win score be 30 28
The quarterback is horrible we know that but have you seen a offensive line three defenders ran in our offensive line and tackle the quarterback do you think the quarterback is the problem is the offensive line and we need a new owner
The organization sucks, they always go back and dig up the dead or picked up players that career is over,so the commissioner or nobody can’t step in to question this sorry organization needs to be banned from the league
Nothing is going to change because the owner is Mike Brown and the coach is Zac Taylor. The only thing that’s gonna matter is $$$$$ if crowds drop off and the fan REALLY turn away. Maybe that will speak when nothing else will. But who knows? Mike Brown is notoriously cheap. I just feel bad for great players like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
The season is OVA. No coming back from that MNF disaster
Get Dalton back
CUBBIES IM
Car would be a better selection over Kirk Winston Wilson. Even the raiders other quarterback O'Connell would be a better selection
Derek Carr?😂 What, is Turk Schonert not available?
This would be dumb..
If they’re going to make that change. They need to get the best mobile qb.. out there..
Our oline.. at this point ..is the opposing teams best 5 players..
The line is struggling more so because of the play calling. Not the actual talent of the oline
I would let White move up from the practice squad
