I don’t care that he hit the last out of the season. He went down swinging on a line drive to center field. That’s more than our superstars can say. He single-handedly kept the game within reach. Two hits with a double, 2 runners thrown out at 2nd base, and a tag at the plate. Absolute DAWG.

  1. that man brought us into the postseason and didnt stop pushing, the most doggish on the team this year

  2. The Padres have had mostly underperforming catchers for so long that having a good one is so easy to see and appreciate. Fermin is a DAWG!

  3. For sure. Blocked so many balls in the dirt too. Really stepped up, unlike the $600 million 1-2-3 part of our lineup, who went mia

  4. He kept this game interesting and honestly there is nothing more that I can ask for. Thanks FreDAWG

  5. Fermin and Bogaerts were great, both hitting and defense. Merrill did pretty well. Can’t say much for the rest of them.

  6. Im happy he’s our catcher. He’s always so animated behind the plate trying to fire up the pitchers.

  7. I was so impressed with him from the moment he came over and especially during this postseason. I’m so excited he’s on our roster the next couple of years. Ceiling is high with him.

  8. Yeah Fermin as excellent.

That ball he hit to end the game was well hit he just doesn’t have center field power.  He squared that up pretty well.  If manny put that same swing in that ball it would have been gone.

  9. Absolutely love Fermin. He put in the effort and kicked butt with what he had to work with.

  10. Yeah, nice pickup. Let’s hope there is enough left on the roster going forward for it to matter.

  11. Player of the series!

He went 4/11 at the plate batting .363. Also caught every game and threw out a few runners.

Imagine what could have been if Tatis played even average? Tatis batted behind Fermin and went 1/12 this series batting .073. So many missed opportunities!

  13. I’m glad y’all love him. He was a franchise favorite but unfortunately for him with Salvy sticking around and Jensen looking REALLY good, I don’t think he would have had his deserved opportunity as a starter. He was trained by some of the best and worked under Salvy to give him pointers. Hes great at clutch hits and defensively had some crazy pick offs. Take good care of him. We’ll miss him back home
