Red Sox vs. Yankees AL Wild Card Game 3 Highlights (10/2/25) | MLB Highlights
The Bronx is buzzing two teams linked by the biggest name in the history of the game. Babe Ruth tonight, the Yankees and Red Sox meet the most significant game of its kind. A must win and experience counts for Alex Bregman. He’s haunted these bombers for years were in the World Series last season and yet each franchise places their fate in the hands of Babes. Cam slid and Connolly early make their postseason debuts on the biggest stage in baseball with the biggest stakes imaginable. And here is Cam Slander who grew up in the suburbs of Boston. His entire family were Red Sox fans. He said they’ve now all converted to Yankee fans. The winner heads to Toronto to open up the division series on Saturday. Chance to make an early statement against and a broken bat little liner there, soft liner to Chisholm and some kindling wood. After that. This is Trevor’s story four for nine in this series on the infield rice underneath and they are two down here comes Alex Bregman three for seven with an RB I in the first two games with the breaking ball that with sky shallow right field foul territory. Rice going back with help from Jazz all in and out of his hands. He had it, he had it in the glove. If he two handed, he might have been able to hold on. Jazz was there. Judge was there and it goes off the edge of his glove. So a second life here for Bregman one and two big out to get right here. Steps into the line, the 12 pitch and Bregman strike three called on the outside corner. He took it 12, three in the first, a fine start for Cam Schlitter. Well, you’d understand if, uh, Connelly early looks around, it feels like he’s a goldfish in a giant fish bowl. He’s never pitched in an environment like this and he is the youngest pitcher to start a postseason game for the Red Sox since F and that was in 1916. He’s gone a sinker at 95 and early, an early strikeout. And here we go. Judge against early is high in the air and the shallow right center field. Sean and Abreu will, you’re taking three steps for my one. He’s in there to make the play. There’s Cody Bellinger two down bases empty early throws and a ground ball to short story back end throw to first in time. The kid is up for him, three up , three down. He looks like it’s a legion game 10 years ago, is two for three here in the postseason just coming off the bench but his last 14 now he’s 20 for 5400 clip. Count goes two and two to Yoshida and he blokes one in the left field on a cutter at 97. A leadoff man aboard for Boston as Massa Yoshida has his third hit. That’s a nice piece of hitting. And now sedan Raffaello zero for six in the series can be swing on in there and it worked inside with that check again and it worked for him. His second strikeout. There’s one down here in the second inning that brings up Nathaniel Lowe zero for three, three right at the knees, a sinker at 101. And as you said, he kind of set him up with that pitch inside before this Arva 2, 4115 homers and 50 runs batted in during the regular season swing on it. Nah, swung on bounce to bully two hopper throws on the run that was a little bit high but Ben Rice is all good reaches up and makes the play and that is well done. No runs, one hit. Now, is it a man left me and Lou were in here earlier today and Stanton was the only one out there doing early batting practice hitting off a machine working on fastballs into him and driving him to right and a lot of hits in the gap and left center field hit really well. It’s tagged, it’s off the fence and it bounces back in digging for two. It’s gonna be close. He slides in with a double big G. He’s lift that baby up off the fence at the top end of the Red Sox. What a blast. He thought it was one. Nothing. You rarely see Jan Carlo Stanton , Miss on a home run and he did miss there. Aaron Boone playing the momentum but early has been awesome against lefties. Gone there and early fools the left hander here’s mud Rosario 276 and it is popped up shallow right center field. Sean and Abreu come together and will you rather emphatically is there to make the play two men down? And here comes the hero from last night defensively and offensively with his legs jazz chisel and it is strike three Cole fastball on the corner. Connolly early. This is old hat for the kid. We go to the third scoreless 36 pitches for Cam Schlitter through the first two innings. He struck out three, not walked anybody giving up one hit, 21 breaking ball popped up playable third base. It’s going to be Rosario under two. Roy has not looked comfortable at the plate and he’s zero for six with a strikeout. He had a phenomenal regular season playing in a miss actually held on by, well, another strike out for big 10. That’s his fourth two down here in the third back to the top of the order. Durant drop by Wells throws the first to complete it. K 23 strikeout number five for Slit. There he goes, 12, threes retired the last six when you speak about debuts. Connolly early struck out 11 in his debut in five innings. That was against the athletics which tied a Red Sox record strikeout number four. As Volpe chased down down 2 to 0 came all the way back and dropped a hook on. Here’s austin Wells two for six with an RB I in the first two games. Perfect pitch sweeper wells frozen and with each pitch and strike out, it feels like the confidence is growing their fate in the hands of a couple of Youngins. There’s a ball hit to the right side past the second baseman into right field off the bat of Trentham. Second Yankee hit comes with two outs and brings up Aaron Judge chopped on the left side. Bregman got the second half crow hopping to throw the first in time. They got him Connolly early. Wow, what a postseason debut having one of those throw back years to when he shined in 2018 and 19. Story right field judge a few steps back and now stops. Now, Bregman swings and sends judge towards the line stops there and that’s a helper for Schler one pitch out of Bregman who he has gotten twice tonight on a strikeout and a fly out to right. Kim Schlitter is rolling eight consecutive, Then retired. We had one baserunner that was Yoshida. He does the same thing again as he lets it travel deep. Yoshida a couple of hits for the Red Sox tonight. Same outcome, same approach. Here’s Rafaella right hand hitting center fielder, hit the Jazz second baseman on the right side throws over in time and that will do it nice inning by cam. There are those numbers for Bellinger against South 351 on and at the center playable Rafaella and again the left and did he catch it now? And Bellinger hustling is always he’s at second base. It looked like at the last second of bra was darting in coming in from right field. Rafaelle looked like he finally engaged and tried to make the catch and didn’t make it. And here we go with Stanton at the plate. A hard double off the bullpen fence last time up, take an inside ball four that works as well supplemental board. Now for Ben Rice, that’s the first walk of the ball game. Well, this at bat is the reason why aaron Boone chose to go with Ben Rice. The hot swinging bat got a, a spot here and he does it again and Rice is gone early early in this game has got the key to Ben Rice and here’s Rosario, he flied out to right field on a 22 pitch in the second inning. He’s at third base and Rosario to here comes Bellinger. Here’s the Rosario delivers the Yankees have a one nothing lead. That’s why they traded for our going to do. I’m going to pitching second time around this team in Pinstripes is just a different beast. They made the adjustment, the speed of the Yankee baserunners , the difference. And it’s the little things, the little things that make the big difference and Rafaelle couldn’t come up with that ball swing and a drive to the gap and right to the field that will get down. Stanton will have to hold at third. J. Chisholm has loaded him up with that single and that sets up for Anthony BPI for the Yankees against Young Connolly. Early BPI stands in struck out on a 22 pitch high ball base hit will pick up at least the one bases loaded one out and that is into right field. Abreu comes up, they will hold. Rosario has to throw his back up by early two RB. I just take it where it’s pitched. You got enough strength to get it through and they’ve been doing that. It all started with the kind of double by Bellinger that Raffaele missed three consecutive hits by the Yankees. Here’s Austin Wells, bases loaded, two nothing Yankees here in the fourth with one out spoiled. One was a little bit off the plate and we had Catcher Afer. Yes, we did. That’s gonna bring in play. Umpire point to the catcher. Wells is still standing. He’s right near the batter’s box was it a, was it a violation? There was no offense whatsoever , fouls off the glove that the umpire hears. So he, he thought it was catcher’s interference based on sound, but that did not hit the glove. There is no catcher’s interference on the field there over but things are challenged. That’s Dan I as so our crew chief after the review came back to a pause and the action for everybody swing and a bouncing ball right. That big one in the first baseman here comes Rosario just coming home. He score two more on the board. It’s four nothing New York and the defense of the Boston Red Sox is falling apart. Nathaniel Lowe is a terrific first baseman. So Rafael has made a mistake. Nathaniel Lowe has made a mistake. Wow. Wow. They are rocking here at Yankee Stadium. Four nothing lead one out runners at 1st and 2nd. Trent Grisham. They got a base hit to right field. His last time up Grisham to right and a Breyer is there f at second will not go anywhere. I think con deserved a better fate than he got tonight. Not great defense and just snake bitten in this inning. There was some weak hit jam shot seeing I singles just dump one in the fly ball that fell in the outfield was a big one. He threw the ball well, but it just kind of all unraveled here in the bottom of the 4th 1st pitch. To judge, hit him not a loaded basis. Judge walking out towards the mound 90 six mile an hour and he’s not happy and I don’t blame him. The Yankees have batted around. Well, he hit, he hit him on the wrist 96 mile an hour fastball. Here’s Bell. Andrew pops it up in a shallow center field back with a good story and comes sedan and Raffaele calling everybody off and with Durant in his hip pocket, he’s there to make the play inning over bad defense in the inning for the Red Sox and Schlitter got a lead now, five strikeouts. He hasn’t walked anybody and Nathaniel Lowe was first hitter here struck him out looking first time right back up the middle and that one has eyes. It gets through. Nathaniel Lowe leads off the fifth. So this is the back end of the second time through for the Red Sox against slit. That hit was the third of the night. Here’s Normas grounded out the short swing and a miss that’s a strikeout. He’s got six one out one on. There’s Will Abreu a right fielder and he is also gone chasing Schler seven strikeouts tonight. He’s been a very productive hitter for them but zero for seven right now in the series swing going to drive it to right field. That’s down for a hit, beautiful opposite field stroke. Lowe up to second and the Red Sox have a two out rally brewing two on for Jaron Duran and now the Red Sox have Jaron Durant up. This will be the third time that he has seen Schler a chance for Boston to punch back. Did he go? Yes, he did. Third base umpire John Lucas said the win. That’ll do it. Eight strikeouts for CAMS two in the fifth. Here’s the pitch, Trevor drives one into left field sinking down and that is a hit in front of Bellinger. So story is aboard and for the second straight inning, the Red Sox have the leadoff man aboard. There’s Bregman, he’s zero for two strikeout looking and a flat , right. Very good baserunner will not go this one to second Chisel. Good scoop by Volpi who’s been a wizard on the infield in this series. That’s a pick right there. Low throw Jazz off balance through it and Volpe dug it out for him. Really saved by VPI there. Butler’s 9th 02 count. He’s got eight strikeouts, he’s got nine. Yoshida way out of the strike zone for that one. I tell you one thing too. You can think about the current season, but you can dream on the future with Schlicker and Cole and Fried and others coming for the Yankees. He has been dominant tonight playing and struck him out a dandy 10 strikeout performance for six innings for rookie cam Schlitter in an elimination game. He has been brilliant having schlitter throw this way with the way free drew the other night and we know what Rodon is capable of. Certainly bodes well, but they got to get through the next couple of innings as stephen Matz now pitches for Boston Jazz over the head of Rome Gonzalez Chisholm and his speed aboard. Beautiful part of the postseason and everybody that’s played will tell you, you know what, it’s an entirely new season. You flip the script, you forget what’s happened, that’s called strike three. A good pitch from matt on the inside corner. Here’s austin Wells, the lefty, lefty here and a ground ball fielded Lowe story back to first. He threw it away and that’s gonna allow Wells to get to second base. That’s been a problem for Trevor last week of the season. Chance to add to it now for Grisham his choice and the error to ST I papa on the left side, Bregman behind the bag is underneath it and a little back pedal. He is there to make the play inning over most strikeouts in a postseason debut in the history of the New York Yankees franchise, the big Maple in the bottom. There are some amazing names on his list. That’s great day for Getty Red Ring. All he does is continue to pour strikes in there sky high playable judge is the guy coming harder. Chisholm’s there and he gets out of the way wisely. A smart move by Jazz. You get a big smile from the captain and right. Jazz got the, but he heard some size seventeens coming right at him. Think of the circumstances for a 24 year old in his first postseason start. Must win game. Now, Baez, this is playable Wells right there. Two outs in the seventh inning to this 95 pitches already. He finishes this inning. I do not see him coming back out for the, for the eighth. This could be the last we see of him. I miss. This guy is turning into a rookie sensation, a rookie hero for the Yankees in this elimination game. His 11th strikeout, a 1237. John Boy and many others have taught us how to read lips. He’s throwing strikes. Hey, he’s going back out, going back out there playing some old school baseball. See it with your eyes and he comes on to the mound in the eighth with 11 strikeouts. This season began for him in AA nine starts, 10 appearances, climb to AAA five starts. You’re a Yankee. His velocity and stuff has been on point tonight. Even dozen breaking ball up. Top. Never mind he is putting it on showing out 12 strikeouts by the youngster against the white Sox cam threw 100 pitches that was on August 30th. What that when he comes off the mound, whether the next, you know, at the end of the inning or whatever the ovation is going to be ginormous swing on a little looper down the left down the third base side. Look at, I don’t and catches and falls into the dugout. He did a total back flip and nick is up and he’s good to go. Wow, what a play. He went full speed into the third base dugout and flipped over the rail and made the catch. It’s their night right there to congratulate him and, and Ryan Mcmahon brought it at exactly the right time. Evidently he just slipped the ball to somebody right there and Belling’s big smile on his face. We talked about the elite defense of ryan Mcmahon. He never stopped, went out, went over, flipped over. That’s a gamer right there folks. Your story swinging a ground ball to BPE BPE over to first and that’ll do it. Listen to this crowd. Cam Schlitter. Everybody dominating the Red Sox tonight. A 12 strikeout shutout performance through eight. Cam Schlitter watching now as Bednar pitches for the third time in three days, the loudest ovation we heard from this crowd tonight was when Schlitter went back out for the eighth inning and that misses. That’s a walk for Bednar. No sheet up, bounces one to Jazz. He will get the out there slow to transfer it and it was slowly hit just one out, two outs away from a trip to Toronto breaking ball swing and Then there struck him out two down here tonight. It’s gonna be an all time roar when this is over in a couple of minutes. David Bednar third night on duty , swing and a pop down the left field line looking for Mcmahon, he’s got room, he’s there and the Yankees have won it. They win this wild card round and eliminate the Boston Red Sox. The final score. Four. Nothing New York. It’s on to Toronto play Frank. What a good one. What a good one. And Cam Schlitt boy, he has written his name in Concrete in Yankee history with a 12 strikeout eight inning shutout finished off by David Bednar. This is just absolutely fabulous.

Just what we need another clown show with the Yankees vs the daughters WS
Not that Iβm looking past 2025, but howβs this for your 5 starters in 2026: Cole/Freid/Rodon/Gil/Schlittler. Watch out MLB !!
FYI, it's YO-shi-da, not Yo-SHI-da.
Both the rookie pitchers were great. Its too bad for the sox pitcher that his defense wasnt performing.
Para que tienen al mexic a no en lineacion si es out seguro
Red Sox fans can turn back and refocus on their Patriots now. π π π
ONE THING IS CONSISTENT, THE UMPIRES HAVE MADE ALL THE CLOSE CALLS ? FALL THE YANKEES WAY! AND THATS A FACT. JUUST LOOK AT THE LAST COUPLE OF GAMES , TO THE CURRENT!
π₯π₯ As a Yankee fan both pitchers were great. The Young Red Sox pitcher was let down by his team's Fielding behind him.
great game for NY fans, certainly, but MLB's production deserves high praise for their work here, smoothly switching between ESPN's call and both teams TV and radio voices
The Red Sox are usually in the top 5 for most errors in a season, js
Connelly Early 23y vs Cam Schlittler 24y… rising stars
Stanton arrogance and admiring his double I believe got Judge hit. js
Early got f*cked over by terrible defense. The Yanks gifted 4 runs.
This would have been a pitchers duel between Schlittler and Early if the red sox actually had good defense that night
CHILLS ππ
We need to clean up the infield cam was insane tonight but between Volpe and Jazz there was some sloppy exchanges
GO YANKS!!!!
I am so absolutely freaking proud of this kid rookie of the year, but weβll see because heβs a Yankee and we know how the Sports writers love them. This kid earned his pinstripes last night and this was just a glimpse into the future Boston More just like him down the pipeline.
4 runs in such a game??!!! WHat a shame for both teams!
cam is the future ace
Schittler handled business π€.
Cammmmmmmmm KKKKKKKKKKK, Kudos to Rosario, Voltajee, Wells, Go Bronx Bombers
Finally! Hey Boston Who's Daddy?
There are too many damn ads on this video. ITS SICKENING
I dont watch baseball like that, but this was magic
ALL TIME Performance by Cam !!!!!!!
Iβm a Red Sox fan but Iβm happy for the Yankees and respect them after having a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk. A classy organization, unlike my Red Sox and their woke swine administration.
Brings a smile to my face to see Volpe playing well!!
Goodbye Sox!
When they play Lowe they tell the other team βwe want to play you 8 on 9β. Iβve never seen a player. His size have the power of a 5β5β 100 pound girl. Honestly, it should not even be in a major league.
Stanton should be benched!
The baseball game between my ads is annoying
God bless those Yankees β₯οΈπ
Holy schlitt
As much hatred Volpe got over the past 3 months, he has had 3 clean games
