NHL Preseason Highlights | Bruins vs. Capitals – October 2, 2025

winner last year for the Caps. Charlie Lingren, we expect to play the whole game. He’s a twotime 20 winner, game winner. Lingren will bat this to the boards as we get rolling. Boston in the traveling whites. Capitals 4-0 in the preseason. The Bruins sport a record of 21 and one in these games that don’t count. Yep. Since losing to the Caps, they beat the Rangers in split with the Philadelphia Flyers. Circling back, Georgie Murcul, 24y old Russian, slides this softly to Lingren’s doorstep. Whoa, Chucky. And now lands right here with the Boston Bruins. Hendrick Lapierre didn’t get this one deep. Back comes Mate Blumel. 13 in the white for Boston. Lindren boots this one into the corner. Cavs are among the top five on the PK. Sort of playing center this evening. just dribbles to the doorstep where Lindren will melt it a couple playoffs a season ago after that knee injury was sustained. Merchilov giving ground plays back for Soderstrom. Snap shot through the screen deflected off the crossbar. Blumel a terrific American Hockey League score in fires. Had it broken up. Rebound in tight there. Brown was kicked aside as and then Charlie Lingren makes a beautiful toe save as it comes through. First four shots on goal of this game. Ryan Leonard captured along the board. Sunonny Milano closing on the tow drag. Stopped there by Corposalo. Sunny Milano getting fancy in DC. Crystal skips it to the doorstep. Misplayed by Corposal. He just got back to the post in time to cover up. and Reamsdike looking to Elilia Pro. Chron guides it along for Ivon Marroenko. Long drive, easy stop there for Yonas Corposalo. Mateo enters the picture. Makarath swivels it back. Keeping it in at the line. Chesley. Good move. He’ll fire. Almost squirts that through. Backhand chance there looking to carum. Crystal tried to bank it in. Sunny on his back end to the point. Chicken fires. That was blocked down in front. Chicken closing. Snap shot. Dribbles in. Leonard on the doorstep. Caps have the lead. Leonard right on the doorstep. There’s Ryan Leonard setting up. Here comes a shot. Look at him get away from the D to just get a chunk of that and put it home. A real good play by Leonard making sure the D cannot tie him up in front of the net. And that’s huge. That’s Solder Strrom in front and he doesn’t have the right side or the stick. The isolation of Ryan Leonard. He’s got his second of the he’ll play on for Chesley and further still in tight quarters to La Pierre. Rristster right to the gut of Corposalo with no rebound. Soda is in his second preseason game. On the go. Rample slicing in. Fires shoulder pad stop. Rebound just dump wide. It’s back to the 23-year-old who’s Nadino. Lysel feed it down low. Freddy moves in tight. Sprawling Lindren makes the save and he’ll cover. It’s another good play by Ryan Leonard. You know, you think of goals, you think of offense, but there defensively had to beat two Bruins to get that puck out. Patra fires and the kneeling Lingren has that with no rebound. On the go. Crystal played that one off the boards to himself to get it out. Remple away from that poke check. Fires, rotating out of the corner. There’s some work down low. Nice work getting that puck out. And here comes the shot. Corposal had everything closed off, but it was a good play all around by all three of those guys. Crystal Alex Ovetchkin one against three. Ovetkin’s pass. A good one. One more for Proise. And a better stop by Corposalo. He made a good one there on Miro Neenko. Ovetkin looking to the front. That’s steered away. Alexe Pro is out of the lineup. Ilia is in and causing a stir offensively again. Yeah, that sequence just proves to the fact that, you know, a lot of people just think Oie’s a shooter. I mean, he’s got such a game. That pass was sensational. It created that twoon-one in front of the net to create another scoring chance. Sort of dancing in. Milano tried the top shelf there and just missed it by a whisker. That pass on the flank gets away. Ovuchkin recovers. Slap to Crystal. Fire. Head save. Rebound at the doorstep. Corposalo has it underneath. Charging the net. There’s the pass from Obie to Crystal. The shot and it gets off that left pad and that glove quickly recovers it with Frank right in front. Protest trying to get a piece of it. Obie on a nice setup. Crystal just about beat. Move it quickly all on the exterior. One touch. Pretty passing. Followup chance just stopped wide. Frank’s not going to miss too many of them. He was who see their captain making his preseason debut and starting the second period. Alex Ovetchkin on the right flanks. Ovetkin thinking about the shot. Chooses pass. Snap shot deflected at the doorstep. A sprawling Corposalo has it beneath him to the bench. The last chance for the Caps. A rink wide pass and there’s a deflection off the defender before it gets to Bro. Aspero is next. Patra through center. Lumel on a backhand try kicked away by Charlie Lingren. Still Ryan Leonard’s lone goal. The one- nothing lead. Matteo galloping in for Basalo. A pad save and he was shooting that to try to beat him over the right pad, but also looking for a rebound. He got one. Corporalo again with another fine stop on they think he is. He they think he’s a goal scorer. And if you don’t score at this level, you’re not going to make the team. The trouble is though, he’s not going to get a lot of time. He won’t be a topline guy. He’s going to have to make it work with shorter feet. Leonard angles in. Nice pass. Front door look and Corposalo makes his fourth. Terrific save of the period. Leonard. Here’s another one on the Kurland drag. Good defense by Asparo. I like the idea though. I like the idea the way Ryan Leonard’s using his skill to try to create chances. A good glove save for Corposalo as Laierre speed changed. He would drive one day, I would drive the next. Figured it might be who’s ever on the hot streak. Lindren. Oops. That’s in the back of the cage. Second time tonight. Charlie’s had an issue on a long dump in. This one winds up in the back of the net. Yeah. Missed the poke check there. And the Bruins are going to be right on the board here making it a game. Five hole. Here it is. Stops it. Tries to play it. And there’s Tuy’s reach. He’s a big guy. And it’s going to get an unassisted goal on that. Little pressure there from Tuy. There’s the play. He’s trying to handle the puck to make a pass. Doesn’t do either. And it ends up right there between his legs and the reach in of Tuy. Makes it a 1-1 game. 27y old has Iorio nearby. Vinnie pops out of there with a puck. Yeah, good physicality by Iorio down there. And Marty Faravari, they were really good getting to the man and not going on an angle. They took him nicely to the wall. Twoon two. Harrison throws a stiff arm out. Power move to the net and it might have went in underneath the goalender Lind. It’s in the back of the cage. They poked it in underneath him. Here it is. The power move to the net. He falls down and there’s the shot coming off number 62. That looks like the goal scorer who got a piece of it there. Harrison and knocking it between the pads of the goalender here. there and we’ll see if there’s goalie interference or if they determine what this goal will be or not. That reverse angle shows you off of Iorio’s skate then through the wickets of Lingren. Will be throwing away all of information in about a half hour. You got it. You should keep it. You never know. You never know, buddy. You never know. You can see why he brought him in. You know, he’s a great guy around the room. Great guy with young players. He’s going to mean a lot to this franchise. Chzley to Farravari. Farravari to the front. Gloved by Corposalo. [Applause] Crystal steps in. Shimies rink wide for Ovetkin through the scene. Crystal to the front door. Deflected away. Elia was looking for the tip in. That’s a pretty good play by Corposalo to kick that puck far enough out of the wash there to not allow a second opportunity. The caps as I mentioned in the intermission are going to need second and third shots it looks like to beat Corpus Olive Ilia for Andrew Crystal. That pass cross rink was intercepted. Steves is away. Steves closing in. Fires dribbles it through Lindren and wide DPro in the bees. Bad pass. Blumel with the intercept. Backhand. Good save there. Rebound. Lindren the hockey game. Here’s that failed clear. Bluml comes in. He’s a guy, as you mentioned, Joe, you don’t want to give the puck away. 89 goals in 187 AHL games. He’s played 13 NHL games and he scored a couple of goals there. Trying to go five. Keep it on the outside. Elia strong to the front. Chzley rockets one off the blocker of six attackers on for more than I do now. No, really not possible. Take away Patrick Brown sends it on Harrison. Empty net. Bang. Boston has a 3-1 lead. Yeah, veteran group there on the ice for Marco Sturm. Here’s the play along the wall. Faravari’s back. Can’t get across in time to get that pass moving laterally. And there you see Harrison find the empty net. Great play by Brown by the way. These teams on their way to the regular season opener. Washington and Boston will have beaten the other on the other’s home ice in preeason play. This one’s in the books by the final count of 31. [Music]

Brett Harrison scored two goals as part of three unanswered to help push the Boston Bruins over the Washington Capitals 3-1 in preseason play.
