[Paterson] Canucks expected lineup tonight vs Oilers

Lots of talk about Bains lately but I would rather Karlsson Sasson or Raty in his spot
Is the Kane-cootes-Lekkerimaki hype real?
Can O’Connor hack it on the second line LW? Or Sherwood?
Edit: or Raty, face off winger?
this kind of gives us two second lines and the 2nd being a viable 2 way line. Not exactly a shutdown line, but should be hardworking and overall a pain to play against
So happy to see thatcher back!
now that’s a sexy looking lineup
Really like the 3rd and 4th lines!
Though, I would say in my head, line 3 is really line 2, and line 2 is really line 3
Just bought tickets for the game tonight!
This looks great
Put Raty instead of Bains on that Chytil line during the regular season and I think they’re cooking.
While we lack top talent we’d have some really balanced lines and can hopefully rely on depth mismatches like we did with the thirst line
The hopium is real this season. Please let us not be disappointed!!
Honestly, this line-up looks awesome. LFG!
Let’s go Cootes
They really seem to be testing Cootes, which is interesting.
Anyone else feel like Hoggy slots in perfectly to Bains spot when he’s back? Lineup doesn’t look so bad all of a sudden
Cootes Lekkerimaki vs Sasson Karlsson
Second line needs a better finisher imo but otherwise looks good.
What info bains have on foote?

I don’t get the Bains hate, I feel this guy is scrappy and we can get some clutch goals off of him from his play style
I actually really like the look of this team
I really hope we put someone better at the forecheck on that line with Petey
Cootes sitting at 101 for odds to win the Calder. Easy money guys /s
Bains and Chytil together is strange because they’re both always looking for someone to pass to. Both players would benefit playing with a target man.
I suspect the opening night lines will be:
Debrusk Petey Boeser
Kane Chytyl Garland
O’Connor Blueger Sherwood
Bains Raty Lekkerimaki
Karlsson
Hughes Hronek
MP Myers
Forbort Mancini
Joseph
They will add a vet depth dman or forward by trade or waiver wire to fill out the last spot.
As fun as it’s been to watch the young higher end prospects, I can only see it making sense to carry Lekkerimaki if they need his PP ability.
Mancini IMO is clearly the most NHL ready between the 3 defenders but suspect we will see a bunch of EP25 throughout the season.
Cootes needs to become the guy in junior for his team and while I could see him getting 9 games a different year, this year’s team cannot afford to get behind to 8 ball and will be relying on veteran players.
I’m a little sad not to see more Cootes/Sherwood pairing… I felt like they had some chemistry
Karlsson and Raty deserve minutes much more than Bains. I’m getting very tired of him getting preferred treatment.
Seems clear to me that the last cuts should be Cootes, Sasson, and Willander. No waivers required.
When Hoglander gets back then you have to make a decision.
OR, if they think Karlsson or Bains can get through waivers now, then you waive one of them and keep Cootes for 9 games until Hoglander is back.
Wish we saw a Bains-Chytil-Karlsson line during the pre season at some point just for fun lol. Chytil is basically Sasson on roids
No Åman on D?! What the helly.
Sasson gets a night off, and Bains gets another chance to try and remain a part of the plan
The return of top 6 Bains. Please stop it, at least play him on the third line.
Raty in for Bains and Mancini/Forbert for Willander and I think you are looking at your lineup opening night.
Spoke to Kirk McLean last weekend at a charity event. He believes in the Cootes hype and his development but thinks he needs more time in juniors (we all pretty much agree). Was on the fence about the 9 regular season games tho
Any word on the oilers lineup tonight?
I actually like the idea of this 4th line. Sounds like a solid checking line. Can they produce offence? Probably averagely or below average, but we’ll see.
Bains on the second line? Really? If he can pull this off, then this will be an interesting season.
Everyone talking about Cootes still being here but noteworthy that Willander is too. It’s more than likely a last look thing but still kinda cool that we have so many young guys still fighting for the roster.
Also I like the look of this but hope this doesn’t mean Raty is just out until they decide on Cootes. He hasn’t looked flashy but he’s been solid and gotten better every game.
