Shaq just did something incredible for Kobe's family. He tracked down old 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser that Kobe and his whole family used to drive back in the day. The car was beat up after years in Philly winters and Vegas heat.
Shaq wanted to surprise Kobe's mom by restoring it exactly how it looked when Kobe drove it in high school. No fancy upgrades, just original.

Shaq is such an enigma, he can be so infantile, defensive and contrarian and yet he can be genuinely big hearted, generous and caring. Shaq isn’t my favorite ex-Laker, but I’ll always respect what he did to bring us those 3 titles.
I dont know the full story and history but aren’t his parents just going to sell it?
Seems like they sell most of Kobes stuff
Could have just given them cash directly but I’m sure they’ll appreciate the auction item
I’m a huge car guy and I love that they restored it to its original condition. It looks better than it rolled off the showroom floor. Simply incredible.
Shaq trying to draft off of Kobe’s legacy.
If there’s a bag of shit in the trunk I swear I’m done with this big ol goof
Cars were sexy back then
Nice gesture but personally I would hate if someone gave me the old shitty car I used to drive as a teenager. I would just instantly have to deal with the issue of getting rid of it.
He’s naturally a bully and an asshole. He doe these gestures because he has some self-awareness and tries to wash out the bad with the good.
Knowing his Mom, I expect this vehicle to hit the market next month

Kobes first car was a Mercedes S500. I parked it for him in La Jolla during the ‘05??training camp which was at UCSD.
He told me i better be careful with that, “it’s my first car and my baby!”
He also wouldn’t accept a ticket, he told me, “yall know who i am.”
A couple nights later he was screaming at a different door man who had been off for a few days and couldn’t find his keys.
I bet the only thing that didn’t need restoring was that engine. Just an oil change and you’re good.
I would really like to know how they found it I would like to know the semantics of this like no VIN no how did they find it etc. That always fascinated me when videos of people doing this can find cars from the 50 that their grandpa had and stuff.
Amazing, what a great gesture.
