Erik Spoelstra | Practice Interviews | October 3, 2025

five guards out. It just opens possibilities for other guys to get a look at them. Sort of. What’s the approach knowing five aren’t traveling? We’ll just see who’s available tomorrow. Uh and we’ll keep moving forward. Uh we’ve had a very good week. Um it’ll be nice to to play a game. Um I didn’t have any intentions of playing guys huge minutes regardless. So um it’ll be a good opportunity for all the guys. I’m sorry. Go ahead. What has Myron Gardner kind of shown? What do you kind of one, you know, we really like his personality, his spirit. Um, you know, he brings that joy every single day, but the way he competes is is fierce. Uh, and he makes you watch him every time we compete. He had a play today uh a great u effort to a tip dunk uh and then a sprint back uh defensively. uh you know he’s learning our system but uh he’s flying around there uh he makes his presence felt um we can teach system schematics you know those kind of things talk about again Simone and obviously getting to know him during Euro basketball what have you seen from his training camp obviously now he’s getting acclimated with the team carries himself like an accomplished veteran um but he’s also uh humble uh where he wants to learn, you know, our system. Uh he wants to uh find where he can be effective. Uh he’s really been competing on the defensive side of the floor. You know, that’s the the first thing I talked to him about is being able to use his size. and he has shown uh particularly in Euro basket and you know one of his years in Utah when they tasked him with with defending a lot of the other teams uh better wing players he’s shown an ability to to be physical defensively. Uh he’s been well coached uh in the league. Uh so he he has uh you know a way of of doing it where we think in in our system that can grow uh and get better. That’s his challenge, you know, to be able to defend with physicality and discipline. And then offensively, he just has a skill set with and without the ball that that will fit this group nicely. It’s a he knows what he’s doing. Uh and he feels comfortable uh um you know, with or without the ball, which is important.
