I also feel like him being out there is another reason why Rome is having a good year too but I can’t prove it.

  1. I strongly dislike some of his effort levels, but he has been drawing a lot of defensive attention.

  2. I’ve never really understood the Moore hate. He is a solid WR and the chemistry he has with Caleb is clear to see. We have problems on this team, but I don’t feel like he’s one of them

  3. First thing Moore did when we blocked the FG was embrace Caleb. Dude may have some issues with effort occasionally but he’s a good part of the team and although Rome is playing out of his skin, Moore is still the best guy overall.

  4. Yeah I mean when you have DJ and Rome both finding soft spots in the zone somebody is going to be open.

I think a lot of fans are looking strictly at the numbers and not considering how he impacts other guys on the field just by being out there. From what I’ve seen, he gets open slightly more than Rome, so it’s not like he isn’t doing what he’s supposed to do, Caleb is just finding other guys.

  5. Like DJ Moore said, if he’s the person the defense is focused on, then everyone else can eat and he’s fine with it. He reminds me of that deadpan edgy friend we all had in HS but he stayed that way. Unique personality but he’s a real dude and a baller, all that trade talk needs to stop

  6. I feel like Rome is benefitting from the Jordan Addison effect of last season, when defenses were so keyed in on stopping one receiver that the wr2 ends up being the one that breaks open. Rome is young, so defenses aren’t that focused on how to stop him yet, but it’s getting to the point where now he’s good enough to get the attention of defenses during film sessions so we’ll see what’s up

  7. Just want to publically say – I think DJ is great and hope he stays with the team. The trade DJ stuff is insane.

  8. I don’t think anyone whose opinion matters is considering trading DJ.

I think some of the “trade DJ” talk is a trauma response from the A-Rob days. Most articles are probably being written by folks that are having Mock Draft withdrawals.

Grain of salt, as my opinion doesn’t matter either.

  9. I’m not advocating for a trade, I like DJ, and Im glad we do and have had him. That being said, I predict he gets traded this or next offseason. I believe we extend OZ and eventually move Moore. Not bc he isnt good or anything like that: I just think Burden will develop well and the assets from moving off of DJ will help us round out our roster (cap space and draft picks).

But I’m not a GM and dont have any connections. I could be wrong and have been plenty of times before.

  10. Most fanbases consist of people who couldn’t get on the field in a JV game and their opinion changes to whatever the last sports radio report they listened to or read the headline for.

  11. I don’t think that people don’t hate DJ. They probably think he is the only player we could trade for a decent edge right now and our receiver room looks to be loaded with talent.

Personally, I hope we don’t trade DJ. Wide receivers can get banged up and it is nice to have some depth at that position.

  12. Al this DJ Moore sour grapes was when our OC was a joke and line couldn’t stop a plastics bag floating In the wind from getting in the back field.

  13. He seems like an introvert who usually doesn’t get too emotional. Has he performed below what he is paid for, absolutely. Is he toxic, not at all.

  14. Half of this subreddit says he’s washed? I’ve never once seen someone say that but good on you for taking those fake people down a peg or 2.

  15. DJ Moore is a good player

But, you can’t invest huge money into 2 WR1s and Rome will need to be paid eventually. We also need a lot of trench help

Sure we can go along with it for a little while, but eventually he needs to go. The sooner the better, because we get more back for him

It’s just how team building works, and I predict he’s going to be moved this offseason if Burden continues to improve. Probably to the Patriots for 2 2nds

It’s a good problem to have, too many good WRs but when we have a lot of roster deficiencies out there it’s a major problem

  16. Moore takes the spotlight so Rome can thrive. Soon, Rome will be in the spotlight and DJ can do what he does. I could imagine it’s hard to be a #1 guy and not get #1 touches.
