Small sample size but consistent with previous years. Being able to go for it on obvious 4th downs isn’t being aggressive, it’s just giving your team more chances to win the game.

Something something living in your fears something something
Not much correlation with win percentage though
I appreciate ya posting this less than 12 hours after a team failed on 4th and 1 and lost because of it
Wish we could win as much as the panthers and Raiders do.
Curious if there’s any correlation with wins decided by 3 or fewer points
Our go rate is 0? What about that 4th and goal at the 3 we went for last week? That didn’t seem like living in our fears.
The Powerhouse Carolina Panthers are first.
Let me put a lot of stock into this.
Why aren’t the lions on this?
Players wont develop if you don’t push them and let them learn from those situations. Failing on 4th and short teaches how to succeed on 4th and short. They can be .500 and have some balls. Get some swagger back.
ITT: people obstinately missing the point.
(Yes I know I could say that about any thread on the internet)
This graph is a mess. It seems to include win probability, as a means of deciding when they should go for it, so it isn’t just going for it on 4th down, it’s about going for it at a specific time in the game that the chart maker has decided, of which some teams haven’t had enough opportunities to be on the chart. Just sloppy.
Neat graph. Going for it on 4th down looks like it has ZERO impact on win/loss
Rams just lost going for it last night.
Why does this chart only have 26 teams lol
I wonder how much of that is because we trust our defense to get the ball back and our game is predicated on putting the defense in a favorable position.
Is there a reason why 6 teams are not included? I’m curious to see Campbell’s Lion’s and their rate.
Who here is defining when we “should” go for it on 4th down?
Unless its a no choice deal on 4th down Steelers always either normally Kick a Field Goal or Punt. Us going for it is normally last chance thing. Alot of teams use four downs because there defense are bad and cant hold A team if why a lot of teams do trick 4th downs
And now do, which teams go for it when they shouldn’t
To be fair the teams higher on this chart have to go for it because they are usually losing
THE TOP 4 TEAMS ARE JUGGERNAUTS!!!!

How are the Lions not on here? Aren’t they always in four-down territory?
We should’ve went for it on 4th and goal to put the game away guaranteed.
We also should’ve went for it on 4th&1 at the 40, or attempted a field goal at least.
Always way too conservative on offense. Instead of watching the top NFL offenses in recent years, Tomlin must be paying more attention to mediocre high school football. WPIAL teams have more innovative offensive game plans.
Lions?
Tomlin lives in his own fears and in the fears of every other team – he’s a chicken 🐓
The Standard ™️
What’s up with the scale on this?
I’m surprised that Tomlin goes for it, on third down.
As a data analyst this graph is bullshit. Who the fuck decides what constitutes a “should?”
It was a lot easier to be fearless with Big Ben at the helm than it is with 41 year old Rodgers. What I would like to see is Rodgers checking out of an obvious run play to play action to either Washington, Pat or Metcalf
Coaching skill issue.
Tomlin needs the Costanza approach where whatever his instincts tell him on 4th down, do the opposite
Ok, but the Steelers are 3-1 and the Jets, Raiders and Panthers are a combined 2-10. So maybe aggressiveness on fourth down isn’t all that great.
I assume that probability is only if they get it. How bad does it change if they miss?
We play conservative bitch ball. You should know this by now!
No surprise just another thing coach T is not good at.
