1986 Boston Celtics Tribute – The Beautiful Game | REACTION

Bro, I thought that was block, but that was him doing an extra pass. [Music] So, today we got a quick reaction to react to a request from Truthteller 1986 Boston Celtics, The Beautiful Game by the Book of Basketball. So, we’re not going to waste any time. We going to jump into it and see what’s up with it. Please place this team in historical perspective. How good is this Celtic team in comparison with the other champions? I think it’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest team that I’ve ever been associated with, especially over a long season. They just produced every time they had to. They were a great bunch of guys. chemistry was great, great. I’m very happy, very happy for him. The Boston Celtics, maybe one of the greatest, if not greatest passing teams of all time by Aimhead to Bird to the Trailer Aird, they made it look easy and Boston predicting a nice fast break. You keep that defensive man guessing, it’s easy to get to. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Celtics running. They have a chance here. Four on two. Birds are marvel at the way these Boston Celtics play basketball. I don’t care what the video is, what the highlight is, they going to make sure they put some clips of them seltters whooping up on the horse. cuz they gave Woo Lord. They gonna make sure they throw that in there. It’s going to make the real because Bird, he went off. He most definitely went off on us. [Music] Move the ball with the Celtics. It doesn’t matter who has the ball. If somebody else is open, they’re going to get it. Isn’t that beautiful? That’s just beautiful, man. [Music] Look at that pass by goal. Well, you guys look for passes that other teams don’t care for. You thread needles and the guy’s looking for the needle to be thrown. On this team, if you’re moved, you get over, you’re going to get the ball. You know, here the goal is winning. It doesn’t matter who scores the points or who gets the shots. Just win the game. [Music] I think I think the Pacers took a page out of Larry Bird’s book because they move around. They move that ball around. They pass it around. I also think Steve Kerr did because when he got to those U Warriors, they started doing that. That’s when we really first started seeing it. And cuz they really move around good without the ball. They they move that they keep that rock moving. And also what I’m noticing is I feel like, you know, everybody, of course, Bird was the man on this squad, but they had a lot a lot of talent that really tapped in and knew what their assignment was. They knew where to be, um, how to get there, when to cut. They just they they were a welloiled machine, you know, just looking at it now, you know, when everything slowed down, just looking, they were welloiled machine. They knew what to do. You It just or it just seems like it’s so orchestrated, you know. Love it. [Music] [Applause] [Applause] Pass. Pass. [Applause] [Music] Another pass. One more pass. Pass. [Music] Again. looking to run for jail. [Music] Nice save right there. Johnson [Applause] for two and another foul. Save that one. That was bad. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] will be back to Larry after Robert too. There’s a way to [Applause] pass on. They’re the prime example of what you learn early in basketball. Extra pass. Make the extra pass. every play they going to make the extra pass and the defense keep the defense on their heels. They never they never know they going to make that extra pass. That is beautiful. [Applause] A little passing time put on there by the South. The Boston South showing you what passing the basketball is all about. Open man is ceasing even more open as bird now. Ceing even more so. Pass pass. There it is. A three-pointer off the floor. He was scoreless in the third quarter. Wow. 17 points in a four. [Music] [Applause] Good find. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Boom. Thread the needle. Oh, he nutmeged him. Nutmeg. [Music] Beautiful. [Music] One more pair. [Music] Bro, I thought that was block, but that was him doing an extra pass. [Music] Oh. Oh my god. Celtic basketball. Nice chip 86 world champ. That’s nice. Again, Truth Teller, I really appreciate you for requesting that one. That was a banger. Quick little banger. wanted to get out there and give my Larry Bird subscribers some Larry Larry Bird fix. Uh, I really did like that. Don’t forget to show love to all the videos on the channel. You rock with me. I appreciate it. You know, much love. I I really really do appreciate it. But it just kind of makes me, you know, watching that video right there kind of make me think about like when I’m actually watching games and you see so many point guards getting so upset with their teammates for not being where they thought they were going to be. This 86 team, you could tell they knew where to be, when to be there, and they were dishing that ball, that walk around without any worry or concern, and they found their open man. This was phenomenal. Loved it. But anyway, don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe to the channel if you’re new. And as always, stay safe. On to the next one. Peace. [Music]

  1. The greatest team of all time ❤ every high school team I’ve coached I’ve made watch the 86 Celtics. Basketball the way it should be played

  2. 🍀 ☘️ 🍀 ☘️ 🍀

Uncut Hoops just put out a Fantastic video yesterday that you really need to see..

    Accidental Basketball Ruined the NBA….

  3. Bill Walton, who succeeded Lew Alcindor (later became Kareem) at UCLA, was a 3 (consecutive) X NCAA Player of the Year, and 2X Champion there, playing for John Wooden's Championship teams in the early 1970s. His play was bullet-proof, and in my mind, was the best all-around Center. Injuries cut his career, but if you watch a video with him & Bird passing, it will give you a hint as to how good that he was. On a podcast between former Celt, Cedric Maxwell, and (C) Robert Parish, Robert stated that as soon as Bill knew that he would play for the C's, that he phoned Robert to explain that he wasn't there to take Robert's place in the line-up. Chief said that he appreciated Bill's gesture, and this set the tone for their on & off-court relationship. Chief, out of respect, refers to (rip) Bill as "William".

  4. LARRY is the reason the Celtics were great! He fashioned that playing style. One of the most UNSELFISH teams EVER. Contrast that with MJ & the Bulls where he hogged that ball & stole all the glory. There was no camaraderie there & their win/loss record shows it.

  5. I know you’ve done a ton of Larry bird reactions, but I watched one today that had content I haven’t seen before. I think it’s called the truth about prime Larry Bird❤.

  6. Look at that passing..unbelievable..nobody trying to be a show off..or hongo….you'd be hard pressed to find that these day's..but that's why the guy's back then..not just Celtics…were great….players….

  7. Making The Case: The 1985-86 Celtics. This is a great video to react to! It argues why this team might be the greatest team of all time. Perhaps you can react to it when you get the chance. Thanks again for a fantastic reaction!

  8. Thank you for looking at that video "1986 Boston Celtics – The Beautiful Game" I hope you liked it. There is another video called "Sportcentury Larry Bird" which was actually the first video made for him, from which several clips which are now in most all other videos. But toward the end of this video a former NBA player Bill Bradley who played for the 1970 championship New York Nicks, he mentions how when Larry was going to retire, he went into the Celtics presidents office on August 12th, three days before a renewal 4.5 million dollar a year would automatically take effect on August 15th: Larry told him that his back was too bad and he cannot play anmore, so he will retire: but that president said, Why don' you take a week and think it over: but Larry told him, I know what day this is; and if I cannot play then I won't not take the money.

It's a good video to watch, Thanl You.

  9. I will get back to this milady, but for now I want you to be the first person on the planet I say this to regarding Bird and Magic: Overall they were more alike than different, and one of those unifying qualities, leadership energy, was expressed in a polar opposite way, and still pursued the same goal, winning, and screw everything else. Magic's was fast, high-energy and explosive. Bird was grinding, crafty and relentless, with a stiletto through your heart every time you thought you were going to squeak out a win. Both elevated their teammates unselfishly and led powerhouses for that reason alone.

I also have a story from the 25 years I lived in KC (go Chiefs!) that I think you might appreciate, but I won't impose. If you don't ask, I'll let it go. May your tomorrow be better than your yesterday, and may you be able to notice it and appreciate your day going well, Book.
