Alex Cora Responds to Red Sox Wild Card Loss vs. Yankees
I I want to start, you know, congratulating Boon Cash and and the Yankees and advancing to the next round. Uh it’s a special organization, a good team, and wish them nothing but the best. With that, I start here with Ian on the left, Alex, just how tough was that B the bottom of the fourth? specialization team. Alex, just that bottom of the fourth inning, uh just how tough was that just the way it unfolded and the way it might have been? Yeah, we didn’t play defense. Uh the popup drops, it’s a double, then we walk. Uh there’s a walk and um you know, they didn’t hit the ball hard, but uh they found holes and um you know, it just happened fast. You know, the kid did a good job. He threw the ball well. Uh induced them to weak contact, you know, but it just didn’t happen for us tonight. Okay. Sean, defense was an issue often throughout the season. Uh at the start of the postseason, did you worry that that could become kind of your fatal flaw and that something could happen like the fourth? No. No. No. Especially with the outfield. No. Next question. Far right. Joel. Alex, I wonder what you think about the performance of their starter tonight. We needed to be perfect tonight because he was perfect. I mean, the stuff is outstanding. He was under control. Um, that was electric. That was electric. Next question. Okay, Pete, you’re here on the left. Alex, on that play, who should have taken charge of that ball, do you think? Um, I think Willie broke back, right, with a swing. I mean, just somebody, right? Uh they make that play. They made that play. I I think, you know, with the swing, he didn’t get a good jump and he just landed there, you know, but uh that’s a play we we make that that inning obviously got out of hand on Connelly, but how how do you think he pitched, you know, pitch pitch well? Uh okay, Ron on the right. It’s good stuff. It’s good stuff. Uh you know, just a few balls that went by, right, the Rosario and Bulpi. Uh but he made pitches, you know, and uh he didn’t get rattled, so it was good to see. Alex, how would you sum up the season? Tough early going, improved throughout the summer, yet disappointing ending. I mean, we didn’t we didn’t finish the way we wanted, so that’s not kind of like that’s not great, but uh you know, we’ll sit down and reflect how the season went. and we’ll talk about it in the upcoming days. But, uh, as an organization compared to other years, I think we we took a step forward in c certain areas. Um, you know, like I always said, you know, we’re not a perfect team. We are a good team that needs to keep improving and um, you know, let’s see what the offseason brings, but uh, I truly believe we’re going to keep getting better. Okay, we go to Jen in the second row. Kind of going off that, Alex. I know we’ve asked you a bunch of times about just the young guys here, the young core. Like what did you see from that group and kind of what they might bring for the future of the club? Um, it’s good. Last last off season, everybody talk about the position players, but we we can pitch. You know, all those kids that came up did a good job. Uh, like I’ve been saying the last two weeks, they didn’t come here just to get their feet wet uh like in the past, right? They came here to contribute. And um I think as an organization we’re in a great great great place. On the left Tim, how did the loss of Roman shape the last month for you guys? Um I mean offensively we know how capable he is, right? Uh what he brings to the equation uh the at bat, but uh you know throughout the season we lost a lot of guys and uh we kept grinding. um you know and I think the guys did an outstanding job battling and and put us in a situation to win games. Okay, next question back to Ian on the left first row. Uh Alex, after the game, was there any kind of message you relayed to the team or is it kind of too soon for that or Yeah, that um I had a blast this year, you know, uh just like I said before, pulling for them, grinding with them. Uh me and my family really enjoyed this season. Uh the last few years have been tough um with the up and downs and where we were as an organization, but I think the front office has done an amazing job pushing forward in certain areas and uh it was a fun season. He was uh obviously we should feel the way we feel right now because we had bigger goals, but you know when when we have time to to reflect how we did things this year, this is what the Boston Red Sox are. You know, uh it’s a good group. It’s a good group. They’re they’re really I mean they’re fun. They’re intense when they play. Um they really like each other. probably the other 29 teams can say the same thing, right? But uh I had I had fun managing this team.

They really needed Devers, he is a Yankees killer, oh well thanks for getting rid of him 😂😂
It was crazy to think that Schlittler grew up a red Sox fan and to beat them in the playoffs
Have a good winter Alex and see you next year
Let’s go Yankees
Cora is a REAL MAN. Yankees fan here and I have the utmost respect for him.
Yankee payback for 2004. I still suffer PTSD from that series.
Too many injuries to the all season but I fired the third base coach that held Ester in third with two out.
Your players don't act hungry at all and 1 player hitting team sucks
Cora said the Sox didn't play defense? They didn't play OFFENSE, in the second game. They had chances to win that game and they couldn't produce the necessary runs. If they had won game two, there wouldn't have been a need for a game three. They have been missing the same thing all season long. A long ball hitting right handed batter who can produce RBIs. They have needed someone like that for at least two years. Hopefully we will see one in 2026.
Tip your cap the the Yankees! Solid team who capitalized when they could. Despite everything the Sox went through, I didn’t think this team was playoff bound, and they proved me wrong. GGs Sox see you next year.
I’m going to be honest I would love corra as a Yankees coach!
I am a Yankee fan . and have a lot of respect for Mr Cora.i became a fan of your work
Yankee fan here, say what you want about Cora, he is a damn good manager.
He’s a class act
And I hope everyone enjoyed the one year of Alex Bregman because he won’t be here next year. The Red Sox owners are cheap bastards and won’t pay him, so he’ll walk and get paid more elsewhere.
I'm so happy to see the Redsox head on home! Go, Yankees!
You didn't play baseball 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Act class, I dislike the red sox but I respect them as our rivals for sure bit the Astros I have 0 respect for that team
The 4th was deadly, and no one can come back from that, it was over and he knew it.
You guys were outplayed
Alex Cora is much better manager than Dave Roberts
Never respect a cheater like this……..
A smart manager and class act, from long time Yankee fan.
Great 3 games in the bronx!¡
Roman is gonna be one of those prospects that gets the big paycheck, but stays on the DL for 90% of his career. 😅
i hate that i like Cora lol hes a good manager
I was just trying to enjoy the season… then the Devers trade… I thought… yeah, he seems like he's on his own agenda.
Then Roman shows up… suddenly it was like… "wait, this might work!".
Even though it ended earlier than anyone wanted… it went further than I think most thought in spring.
This group can adjust and make next year special.
Cora has overstayed his welcome. Time to go
Excited for the offseason. Really want to see some improvement to our starting rotation and a few spots on the field. Not wild about Duran and his poor defense and strikeouts. Bregman hopefully opts out. Move Story to second and Mayer at 3rd or SS. Casas is a huge question mark too. It’s will be interesting to see what happens.
Couldn’t cheat his way outta this one.
Still disgusted by this cheater Cora being a manager of an mlb team. Yuk!
Dodger fans rejoice either outcome of this series. Either the Yankees lose or the ex-Cheater Cora loses.
Another Yankee Fan, I wish Cora was the Yankee Manager.
That abreu was too wild
he scared rafaela , thats why he missed that dive
he was worried about being run over by that fukn abreu nutjob
Red Sox lost because they didn’t win enough games.
NO TEAM would have hit Cam on this night! He was locked in and dealing! Hitting corners with pinpoint accuracy at 98, 99, 100, and 101 mph! UNHITTABLE!!!!
Alex Cora- great manager, great man and very classy!!twice as good as Boone, in every way!❤❤❤❤ and I’m a long time Yankee fan.
Alex Cora is a fantastic manager, he’s out managed Boone every single series we’ve faced the Sox.
Cam Schlittler made all the difference in Game 3.
