MLB ALDS Game 1 Highlights | Yankees vs. Blue Jays – October 4, 2025

[Music] He hasn’t hit a home run in his last 21 games and it would be a timely situation for his manager and his team if he could get hot. Fly ball high in the air to left. Bellinger going back and it’s gone on. Leads at first this time. Broken down. It’s caught by Guerrero. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with a spectacular play to start a double play. What a play by Vlatty. And here is Sunday’s hero, Alejandro Kirk. He drives one to deep left field. And this ball is gone. One, two, got it. Kevin Gosman may be built for this. Hooks this one to right. Lucas coming over and he has it. Nathan Lucas with another great play out in right. For me, this is the big separator between the Blue Jays and the rest of these postseason teams. They play outstanding defense, and we’ve seen it already in this ball game. Again, the one two to center field. On comes Vo to make a sliding catch. He’s medium in the box away from home, but he’s got such play coverage. He can at a ball six inches off the plate away. Everybody on their feet it feels like here in the Rogers Center. 3-2 again. He got him. Got him to chase for out number one. And he throws a terrific splitter that Judge chases. He couldn’t cover that one. [Applause] He got it. 101 to blow him away. And a huge out for Louis Varlin. And the Blue Jays striking out John Carlos Stanton. Look how far back he is. Right. He’s back six, seven feet. Stop him. Stop him. Well, he’s going, but it’s a ground ball to first right at Guerrero and Sir Anthony Dominguez with two big outs through the right side. It’s a base hit. Maro in to score. It’s three to one. Line drive down the right field line and it’s all the way to the wall. One run is home and a second as well. Jimenez and Clement are in and Nathan Lucas with a two-run double to give them a four-run lead. This is the way the Blue Jays have played all season long. High fly ball right center. It is playable. Springer back to tag. Gisham the catch. Springer on his way to the plate. He’ll score. Lucas to third. A sack fly for Guerrero. It is six to one. Three and0 green line. Glatty show terrific discipline. Well, it looks like it’s going to be Jeff Hoffman even with what is now a five run lead. It’s interesting. Brain Fischer was up throwing earlier. Now it’s over to Hoffman. Driven to left field. Another home run for Alejandro Kurt. Suddenly the hottest hitter in baseball. He’s got five home runs in his last 10 at bats. to left field and that’s a base hit. Baro will score. Straw to third and I think Jimenez will be content with that call being confirmed and getting himself an RBI goal. I thought they might have switched when they added two more runs here, but that’s not the case. Line drive to center. Straw back to tag. Gisham the catch. Straw on his way to the plate and in there. Sack flyment. It’s nine to one. Up the middle and it gets into center and another run will come in to score. It’ll be the third RBI of the ball game for Nathan Lucas. It’s 10 to one. The last nine have been fast balls. He’s just airing it out. Got it. Dropped a splitter on him. A swing and a miss by Vulpi. And that is the ball game. The Blue Jays score early, hold them in the middle, and then erupt late for their first playoff win since 2016. [Music]

The Toronto Blue Jays started off their 2025 MLB postseason with a bang, walloping the visiting New York Yankees by a score of 10-1. Alejandro Kirk continued his epic hot streak with two more homers, making it 5 in his last 10 at bats.
