Since 1970, only four head coaches who have coached at least 100 games have more than Tomlin's 98 wins in one-score games. And those coaches – Bill Belichick (120 wins), Andy Reid (110), Don Shula (106) and Dan Reeves (105) – all have coached far longer than Tomlin.

Even more impressive is Tomlin's career winning percentage in one-score games. Tomlin has compiled a 98-61-2 record in one-score games, a winning percentage of .615 that is the highest in the NFL, tied with Tony Dungy for that honor.

  1. cant tell this to people in my favorite NFL discord. They are convicned Andy Reid only ever wins blowouts

  2. This is the ultimate Tomlin paradigm stat. It speaks volumes to a) his ability to make a team win, and b) his inability to close a team out. This is balance.

  3. How many (almost) heart attacks does that translate to Steelers fans.

    101 x 900m £ 19m + 33% =2,297,043 m²·£

  4. Like it’s great that it keeps it exciting but, the real issue comes down to playing passively and letting teams that should on paper never stand a chance get back into a game. 2-14 teams we have trouble beating even lose to.

Having close games is great but, where is that domination factor? That killer instinct?

Blowouts are so few and far between and even as a fan they are boring it’s not about entertainment. Were talking about Tomlins ability.
