Julian Edelman Wants Patriots to Pursue AJ Brown Trade

  1. I also want the patriots to pursue AJ Brown. I think our open roster spot is there until Tavai comes back. The Eagles will never let him go tho.

  2. Thing about this is that if AJ Brown is unhappy that he’s not getting the ball, will he be happy here? Drake can absolutely get him the ball but I feel like the scheme is a little bit committee-oriented. I know fuck all about offensive schemes though so I’m probably wrong.

I just think if the offense wants to spread the ball around, he might be unhappy here too.

  3. They literally can’t, the Eagles would eat like $80million in dead cap if they moved him, it’s just not worth it to them.

  4. It just isn’t in the ownership’s DNA, the one time we got a star receiver it was because he was in the clearance aisle (Randy Moss).

I’m not doubting the talent at all and all that, and I think it could work, but a team that’s just starting to craft it’s identity may not benefit from a strong locker room shake up.

I’m no expert, maybe I’m wrong.

  5. Way too much dead cap if the Eagles trade him. It will not happen this year for sure.

  6. If you are here to talk about scheme fit or age or locker room or draft capital or any concern other than Philly not wanting to trade him, you are missing the forest for the trees.

  7. Brown is talented, but A) for reasons already discussed, the Eagles won’t be trading him; and B) even if they would, the last thing a young team with a second year QB needs is a diva WR who isn’t happy even when his SUPER BOWL DEFENDING CHAMPION TEAM is undefeated. Guy needs the ball to be happy. Go play for the Dolphins or Jets. Tons of targets, not many wins.

I’ve been impressed w Diggs, who has had the diva label previously. He’s working hard, not complaining about usage, and being a good teammate.

  8. So does every pats fan but the likelihood it happens this season is nearly 0. He’s too important to that team whether they throw to him or not.

  9. I just find it wild that people are discussing this here. Sure, why wouldn’t we want him? Edelman can say whatever he wants on his podcast but it is not happening for many reasons. I want Randy Moss to build a time machine and come back to us 20 years younger.

  10. Not only do I want the Patriots to trade for AJ Brown, but…yes…yes, I want the Patriots to trade for AJ Brown.

  11. Haha this will never happen. Eagles don’t see it as a problem. They just don’t pass much.

  12. > Growing up as a Patriots fan, the young player was fully prepared to be drafted by Bill Belichick. However, as fate would have it, they ended up taking N’Keal Harry with the No. 32 pick.

Thanks for the reminder, brb jumping off a bridge real quick
