The REAL Reason Dallas Eakins Struggled in Edmonton

I think that Dallas Akens is a good coach and I think he’s a good person. I think he’s wellliked by the players that have had him in saying that and and you know he could argue this, but I think he would agree with it. I I I don’t think that he was himself when he was in Edmonton. I think that it was a a big role, a big job to be put on to to rejuvenate the Oilers. Uh young young head coach coming in and my guess is that he changed what he was doing. He changed what he had done to get to there and to get that opportunity because from everything that I had heard leading up, he was a players coach. The guys liked him and I think he might have come into Edmonton and and tried a little too hard to be a little bit of a hard ass. I know I found it difficult to to gauge him, to talk to him. Um, you know, I was a big boy. I didn’t need to be coddled or or told anything. Um, but you know, it’s still you still like to have like a relationship with the coach that you say good morning and and how’s it going and that kind of thing. You know, I don’t need to be told I’m doing great or anything. I kind of always played it as as uh I’ll do my job and tell tell me if talk to me if I’m not doing my job and if you don’t talk to me then I’ll assume I’m doing my
