The Mariners get their first home Postseason victory in 24 years! 🔱
Torqulson scored the eventual game-winning run in last night’s 11 inning affair. He drives in a pair in the eighth to tie it and take Trick Scooble off the hook. Kyle Finnegan to Randy Arosa and a first pitch splitter is swung on and missed. Well, AJ Hint said he wanted to stay away from Finnegan if he could, but tie game of a playoff series. Got a chance to go up 200 on the road to go home. He’s going to one of his best relievers right now for the heart of this Mariners order. Finnegan pitched the eighth yesterday as well. He faced Crawford, got him to fly out, got a Rosa raina to fly out, gave up a Cal Raleigh single, and then struck out Julio Rodriguez to end that frame is 1-1 and Rosa Raina waves again at a splitter and misses. Finnegan just 15 pitches last night to get through the eight. Well, the one thing that AJ Hinch loves about Kyle Finnegan against his meat of the Mariners’s order is his split finger against Raleigh, against Julio, and even against a Rosena. He loves the action on that. He’s back to it. Uses that pitch almost 40% of the time in conjunction with the fast ball about 58 59% of the time. Ros Arena’s got a hit in three trips. Just eight combined hits between the teams tonight. Randy waves and misses at that splitter. Saw a handful of them in that at bat and he goes down swinging. Cal Raleigh 0 for three tonight. A struck out twice. once on a change up and then once on a fast ball. Both against Terrick Scooble who went seven innings allowing two solo homers and will not get a decision tonight. Hard hit ball by Raleigh down the right field line towards the corner and the big dumper is looking for extra bases and he’s got a double. a little split. Talked about how AJ Hinch loved the match up. Well, when you see a guy two nights in a row and you see the same pitch over and over again, Cal Raleigh got a hit, broke his bat last night off again, but tonight he squares it up and now he’s in scoring position for Julio Rodriguez. takes ball one. [Applause] Line drive down the line. That’s a fair ball and the Mariners take the lead. Julio Rodriguez has come up clutch yet again. [Applause] The emotions pouring through the Pacific Northwest. Rodriguez has put Seattle in front. Here’s Palanco. Ball one. Raleigh and then Rodriguez. Backto back extra base hits to put Seattle in front. They’ve waited 24 years to see their team win a home playoff game. They’ve taken the lead here in the eighth inning and they’re three defensive outs away. Palano with a multi home run game tonight looking to add on with Rodriguez in scoring position. The 2- went around two and one. Well, we know he’s a great down ball hitter. gets a split, starts starts belt high and works just above the knee, stays down through it, drives it down the line. These stars, you said it earlier, AJ, these stars need to come out to play today and they’re showing up in a big way right now in this eighth inning. But again, same pitcher, same pitch, two nights in a row. You see it repeatedly. This is what happens in these series when you see bullpens over and over and over again. you start to get a little better idea of what their pitches do each time. And last night, Raleigh saw Finnegan all splits. Tonight, Julio again sees Finnegan for the second night in a row, gets a lot of splits, and they both didn’t miss them. Two balls in a strike. Palano breaks his bat, rolls it towards short, left side, cut off by McKinstry. There’s no play. Rodriguez to third. Runners at the corners with only one out. And Palano is having the night of his playoff life. [Applause] Everything’s going his way. Great night for Palano. Just gets sawed off right here. Perfect placement because of the little mini shift. There’s nobody there. 49.7 exit. And the bat went farther than the ball did, I believe. Oh man. Yikes. Watch out. What a moment in Seattle. Julio Rodriguez, the 24y old from the Dominican Republic who left his family at the age of 14 to go to a baseball academy. Two years later, signed with the Mariners in July of 2017, debuted in April of 2022, battled his way through injuries last year and came back as strong as ever this season. And one of the biggest hits of the Mariners season has put Seattle in front. It’s 3-2. Coming up after the game, you can stay tuned for the postgame show on FS1 presented by St. Here’s Suarez. Ball one. How much longer do you let him go? AJ’s this is the last hitter on deck. You got hurtter in the book and this is it. There’s Suarez waiting for a 1 with two on and one out. Two balls and no strikes. Back and forth we go in the late innings. 3 and 0. Green light him right here. If you’re if you’re Dan Wilson, I green light Gino Suarez. I would not be shocked if Finnegan throws him a split right here. But if he throws him a heater, you want him to try and hit a three-run homer, make this game six-2. Green light swinging a miss right on Q. That’s the That’s what a three- 0 hack is supposed to look like right there. This is not thinking about hitting a single to right. This is thinking about hitting one off the scoreboard. Still a hitter count for Aueno Suarez. Runner from first takes off and that’s fouled back. Alanco will head back to first. Well, he had that stolen, too. Yeah. But 3-1, you want the You normally the runner, you got to let him swing. Yeah. The runner will look at you and say, “Why’d you swing?” Three-1 right there, though. You let him swing. You let your your slugger with 49 homers hit right there. Now, another Slugger on deck and Naylor. [Applause] Ground ball to third. Rodriguez coming home. The throw from McKinstry will get him in time and it keeps it at a one-run game. Fielder’s choice goes 52. Palano on to second. Safe at first is Suarez. And that will be it for Finnegan with a left-hander coming up. What a wild last inning it’s been. Mariners have the lead by a run. Two on, two out for the lefty Brandt Herder who’s facing the left-hander Josh Naylor. Runners at first and second for Naylor. Herder was the first reliever behind Melton yesterday. He pitched a scoreless fifth. Oh no. First pitch sweeper misses outside. Although they’re going to say that he went around third base umpire and crew chief Alan Porter makes it strike one. Yeah, he went. Huge play though before the the pitching change. First of all, the stolen base attempt kept him out of a double play, but a nice play by Mckinster to keep this a one-run game on the ground ball right to him. There is a pinch runner, by the way, two at second base. There he is. That’s Leo Rivas. He checks in for Palano at second. Suarez still at first. Still a one-run ball game. All of these plays are so magnified. Every pitch has been magnified. We’ve broken down back-to-back changeups, surprise fast balls, slider after slider after splitter after splitter. Every pitch with such weight in a 3-2 ball game in the bottom of the eighth inning, which Herder is trying to end right now. Naylor with plenty on his mind. He is right now expecting a child with his wife Shantel. His availability for the series could be in question at any point if he has to go on the impending paternity leave. But standing in for this one two and he chops it foul up the line at first. Shantel a Latin singer and songwriter who’s had some solid success as a musician. The Naylor family, a great athletic family. Of course, brother Bo was eliminated by these Detroit Tigers. Cleveland Guardians catcher. Josh looking for perhaps a little familiar revenge. Their younger brother, Miles, plays for the Athletics right now, too. Very talented family. Pops one off on a golf shot. Sand wedges it up towards second. and Torres here in Seattle. The Tigers took game one. Seattle has taken the lead in game two. And Andreas Munoz, who recorded six outs last night, a season high, will try to go back to back to even the series. And he pours in a strike to McKinstry. Rebos stays in the game at second base. Palanco done. Mcken Street down nothing and two. [Applause] The Kinstream waves and misses. He’s tagged. One away. I think we were kind of all wondering what the stuff was going to be like after a lot of pitches yesterday. Seemingly it’s okay. Came out threw a first pitch bullet fastball strike and then followed up with two very nasty sliders down and in. [Music] Here’s Jav Bayz. Big cut. Nothing and one on a slider. This is the one he’s got to execute right here to Javi. He can’t leave this middle in otherwise that quick bat could tie this game. He pops it up. Rivas makes the catch. Two down. Dan Wilson hoping for his first playoff win. Tigers down to their last chance here in the top of the ninth inning. [Applause] They’re one on away from their first playoff victory in nearly a quarter century. Here’s Parker Meadows. Ball one. This is the guy you want if you’re Munoz. I know it’s a one-run lead. You don’t want to turn the lineup over to the top. Nine-hole hitter. Gil right after him. Make him beat you. Line. 2 and 0. [Applause] The two waved on and missed. Two and one. [Applause] Detroit two. [Applause] Fouled back by Meadows to stay alive. [Applause] Two balls, two strikes, two outs. The pitch fouled away again by Meadows. [Applause] Eight outs recorded so far in this series. The most he’s ever had on back-to-back days is eight. He’s one strike away from tying the series. The pitch just got him pieced in. Meadows. That was the perfect pitch at him because he was under the last couple sliders he threw down. Meadows was going down trying to get under those balls. The fast ball up was the right call. Meadows just got just enough to keep it out of the glove. Another 2-2 count runs full. Another quality at bat from the nine hitter Meadows. We’ve seen a lot of those in this postseason. Three and two. Bouncing ball to Naylor. Flips and finishes it. Their first playoff win in 24 years. The Mariners have tied the series at one [Music] [Applause] since the clincher against Cleveland nearly a quarter century ago. And Seattle, the team and the city can breathe a collective sigh of relief as they will head to the Motor City tied up at a game a piece with the Detroit Tigers. Julio Rodriguez. It’s the eighth inning. Cal Raleigh is on second base. Kyle Finnean on the mount. You saw him last night. Tell me what you were thinking as you walked to home plate. Um, I was just, you know, trying to get a good pitch to hit and, you know, he let us play a little bit higher in the zone. and I was able to put a good swing to it. You’ve done a lot of thrilling things in your career. Where does this moment rank? Uh this has to be number one, you know, like we we haven’t had a time like this here in a while. So being able to deliver a win tonight as a team, I think it was really really special for me just to see the fans and the way they got going. It was very special. I’m I’m always going to hold that memory in my in my heart. It has been a while. almost your entire lifetime, fans here have been waiting to see the Mariners win a home playoff game. What does this mean for the franchise and for this series now tied going to Detroit? I mean, it means a lot. It means a lot. You know, I know these fans have been waiting a while and we definitely grind a lot for them, but to deliver one win for them is really special, but we know the job is not finished. We got to go to Detroit. Uh, now the series is tied, but we’re going to we got to go out there and compete again. Hi, you had TK school for home runs twice, but each time you stayed off change ups before the swings. Tell me about your approach tonight, why it was so successful against TK school. Uh, I was just trying to get a good pitch to hit, you know, trying to stay to the middle. We all know he he likes to throw hard and he have pretty good secondary pitches. Uh, but yeah, just just a good approach trying to stay to the middle and get a good pitch to hit. What did you feel from this crowd tonight in the eighth inning? They’ve waited so long to see the Mariners win a postseason game at home. What was that again? What did you feel from the crowd here tonight? Oh, a lot. A lot of energy from the crowd. Uh we love it. We want you guys to keep supporting us and keep showing up. The series is tied now. One to one. You beat their ace. Game three in Detroit. How do you like your chances going into Detroit? I like my chances. Uh especially with the team we have. Uh we never give up. We all fight together. We stay together in this and and we’re going to get through it.
The Seattle Mariners win their first game at home in the Postseason since 2001 on October 5, 2025 when they defeated the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the 2025 American League Division Series.

Bruh it’s not their first playoff win in 25 yrs – it’s their first home playoff win
Lo bueno es que le ganaron a Skubal. Si, Detroit empató y Skubal NO perdió. Pero salió derrotado.
The Mariners folks look like samurai!
Munoz has some nasty stuff. Wow!
There something in the air with this team, but we’ve had such heartache that getting this win was so huge, I’ve been getting emotional lately! My uncle and grandpa have lived and passed away waiting for the mariners to be back in this opportunity. 💙 💚
Let’s hope they can beat the Red Sox and go 87 years without winning the World Series! 39 years to go!!!
Very happy!!!
Gotta love these M's. GO ALL THE WAY!
@2:04 – Nice zoom camera man
So Great to have October baseball back in Seattle!!! 😎
Holy Smokes! The Seattle Mariners have won their first home playoff game in 24 years and also tied the series against the Detroit Tigers!
Very lucky.
This before the real highlights?
This game was torture, every pitch felt like the game was on the line. As an M's fan, really rewarding to see them get the W. It's big for them to get the win over Skubal. The Tigers are tough. If the rest of the series is like this, it might give me a heart attack.
Why are you putting the spoiler in the title of the complete highlights? What the F is wrong with you people?
stupid announcers….not the first playoff win. the first HOME playoff win. They won 2/3 against the Blue Jays in the wild card in 2022 in Toronto
Hey i like Polo by Raph Lauren
I'm a Yanks fan…but I'm happy as heck to see this Mariners team fight so hard.
Well Boys we meet again in a time of CULTURE and PAUSE….. camera man knew the assignment GG 2:03 😍😍😍
This series is evenly matched
You could a hear a pin drop before Cal's double.
Then you would have thought some TNT went off. 😊
That thump off of the bat
Cal Raleigh? More like Cal Daddeigh 🍑
You can tell Naylor is gonna be a Father. 😅. God bless him.
I have a feeling mariners are gonna cook on the road.. last time they went to Detroit they lit them up for 35 runs in 3 games and a sweep
Watching one of the Mariners running for home and he's tagged out like two friends meeting. Lol I can only imagine what a Pete Rose or a Ty Cobb would have done coming into home with the catcher blocking the plate.
Munoz was at my brother in law’s restaurant, I didn’t bother him but I’ve been regretting that for 14 months……would be cool to get a picture with him to hang on the wall there
Seattle easily has the best starting rotation and bull pen in the league . There just overall nasty . What makes them dangerous is when the bats get going . That’s how they won 18 out of 20
9:00 what should have Julio done here? Shouldn’t he he have tried to bait the 3rd baseman ?? He fucked that up again man !!
2:03
Mariners are going to need a lot to win this series. Don't see them beating Toronto in the ALCS. Yankees are being pumelled right now.
Thanks for the highlights. Please please please drop the spoiler thumbnails.
Incredible, unbelievable atmosphere.
Cal is MVP because without him there's no way the Mariners are in the playoffs and I think he is something like 4 of 8 (maybe even better) so far in these playoffs. Without the big dumper the Mariners would be in the dumpster so to say…
Julio has been clutch this postseason. He seems to be developing nicely and I feel like he is going to be in the discussion for MVP next year. If he plays up to his potential and pitching improves to 2024 level, Mariners could win 100 next year.
They have only adopted the occasional heartbreak, We were born in the heartbreak, molded by it! I didn't see a Mariners home playoff win until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but.. PURE DUCKING JOY!
LFGOMS! 🔱
The people sitting not standing in the front row should be banned from the park😂
Congrats Ms, two more Ws to go to A league
Want two in Detroit, but just one win and the M’s lock in the game back here in Seattle! Let’s go boys 🔱
This gives me The double vibes!!
this isnt something to celebrate lol, i hate how were celebrating this.
