NHL begins discipline for hectic Battle of Florida pre-season game

  1. I expect suspensions for all the lightening players, and additional cocaine rations for the panthers as a reward.

  2. I hate to exacerbate the issue of “NHL protects the Panthers,” but honest question. Of the many articles covering this game, how many have mentioned the Panther’s actions or the Verhaeghe boarding?

  3. – A.J Greer on Brandon Hagel cheap shot = Max CBA fine
    – Scott Sabourin on Aaron Ekblad cheap shot = Hearing with possible suspension (Ekblad didn’t return to finish the game)

    – Carter Verhaeghe on hit from behind on Zegmus Girgenson (Who didn’t return to finish the game) = Nothing
    – J.J Moser on hit from behind on Jesper Boqvist = Hearing with possible suspension

Both similar situation with different outcomes.

Tell me there’s no bias here, this game proved Florida can get away with pretty much anything. And DOPS being so out of whack on how they discipline players.

  4. I agree that Florida is a team thats super trashy, but what Tampa did was honestly worse and they deserve the more punishment compared to Florida for the preaseason. Not saying the Panthers dont also deserve more disciplinary action than the little they’ve gotten, but what Tampa pulled that game was so embarrassing to watch that I don’t know why anyone is cheering them on.

  5. > Schmidt was fined $2,098.52,

I’ll bet that extra 52 cents really taught him a lesson, lol.

  6. So…hear me out.., what if every team did what Tampa did at every AWAY game for Florida, and forfeited every HOME game for Florida? Florida makes $0 revenue at home all season, and their players get beat up every game they play.

Sure, they get 41 wins this season, but who cares if they have no $$.

Yes, I know this is extreme and insane, but what would happen?
