Are people finally starting to realize Houston got thrown under the bus?

Also, the Yankees are a bunch of crybabies.

The only thing the league protected was the Yankees and Carlos Beltran. Someone the Astros should’ve never allowed back after 2004.
Before I deactivated my twitter I used to follow that guy. He’s been preaching that for a good few years now. He was always incredibly vocal about it but also always had the same disclaimer about his lawyer attached to the tweet.
I worked with someone who was close personal friends with someone high up in the Astros org at this time (2017).
Spaeder’s sentiment is the same as this individual.
I’ll add, I have no further knowledge about Ohtani and gambling, but what I heard MLB did with the Dodgers and their sign stealing in 2017, wouldn’t shock me in the least that we are not getting the full story for that.
the quoted tweet sounds like mega cope tbh
The Yankees can’t believe they just aren’t good enough to win.
What is the first tweet referencing? Just the fact that the Yankees are getting trounced again?
These poor fuckers will never realize that everyone was cheating. Must be nice living so ignorantly, life was better when I thought the Tooth Fairy was real too.
Spaeder has said this since the dawn of time
No, they’re just sad their team is losing. This is like a toddler screaming “NO FAIR!!”
Maybe if multiple teams are crushing your team, cheating isn’t the issue.
No chance the cheating the Astros did was confined to Houston.
Beltran literally brought it with him.
It’s not like the plan all formed in his head when he hit the tarmac in Houston.
The Astros have always been treated like the bastard child of baseball. We’ve always been a decent team making the playoffs every few years (before the age we’re in now). But even back then, the MLB treated us as an anomaly and never gave us the publicity of other teams.
I had the pleasure of speaking to a retired Astros player a few weeks ago. He said it was common knowledge around the league that the Rangers had one of the first electronic sign stealing systems in the early 2010s and that practically every good team had something in place before the crackdown.
Anyone who cared to research and think critically assumed this was the case but it was interesting to get confirmation from a player.
I don’t know if we will ever get a fair shake from this. We stopped cheating because it actually worked against us. The Yankees cheated and claimed innocence
For some it’s been obvious for a long time, others will never accept the bigger picture because it gets in the way of bitching and circlejerking
Most people do realize that, but the loudest and most obnoxious people are the ones that still believe the buzzer lie and post trash can memes. The hate won’t fully go away until another major scandal happens, then people will start to reassess the entire era.
If Manfred & his cabal of buffoons are going to investigate whenever the Yankees lose and investigate the team to which they lost then they better hire a whole lot of investigators to conduct a whole lot of investigations. The Yankees <3 losing. Murderer’s Row ain’t walkin through that door.

Nothing to see here, Yankees got their ass whooped in the playoffs, tale as old as time
One offense getting hits doesnt mean anything when the other offense cant do shit
Midway through the 2017 season teams started to switch up signs between catchers and pitchers. They did this because they knew signs were being stolen electronically. They did it with every team, knowing every team in some way was doing it.
After the 2017 series they were interviewing Brian McCann. They asked him why he kept going to the mound the last inning. He laughed, pointed to center field and said “come on, you guys know”. He shook his head and moved on.
A former Yankees manager was on a MLB show and they got into sign stealing. He slipped up and said the signs were relayed from the dugout to the first base coach or runner on second, they were using a phone. He realized he let on too much and moved on.
The former GM from the Rays in an interview on Youtube was very vocal and adamant that everyone was doing, he literally said the Rays were. He laughed at the interviewer in a “call out” way, knowing the guy knew exactly what was going on but still toed the MLB line.
The video was removed from YouTube…….
The “ring leader” of the scheme came from the Yankees and it was said that he told the Astros “they were way behind in sign stealing”
Both the Yankees and Red Sox were also pinched but MLB swept that under the rug. Red Sox suspended the replay guy and the Yankees got a strongly worded sealed letter. Very little coverage of that. And the only reason MLB got involved is because the two teams ratted on each other.
Many other players have come out and stated others were doing it.
Astros weren’t the only ones cheating, they were the only ones investigated and publically implicated. The only reason they had to was because a pedophile who acted like a baby when he was pulled brought it to the media’s attention. The Sox and Yankees prove that. MLB did not want this “scandal” exposed. That’s why no players were suspended. No way would a player stand for that when they knew everyone else was doing it. If they had to do suspend players it would have prompted a full investigation and there would be no MLB because every player was complicit.
I’ve done more research into this than any “journalist”. And I didn’t even do research, just complied information from articles and interviews over the years
MLB won’t allow it, again the Yankees Sox situations proves it.
100%. MLB acted like one symptom was the whole illness. The Astros got left out to catch all the flak for sign stealing.
But when it’s the Red Sox, they find a fall guy in the “replay official” and news dump it right before the NFL draft to minimize any blowback. Repeat offenders, too.
Then the whole Yankees letter…not to mention the multiple current and former players naming several other teams who engaged in similar sign stealing. No investigation, no media circus, nada.
I looked up the original tweet’s account so you dont have to, and they’re just fucking awful. Still haven’t found a video where they use their regular voice, and they seem like the kind of New Yorkers that just sound like they’re faking the accent
Vladdy was served that ball on a platter lol
Everyone with enough of a brain to look at the facts has known that the Astros were scapegoated for many many years now. Jeffrey Epstein Fiers sang like a canary to the press so MLB instructed a reality to minimize the damage to the privileged franchises.
This is common knowledge to anyone who actually follows baseball and doesn’t just hop on the hype train every couple years when their team is good.
A quick google search can show confirmed sign stealing schemes dating back a hundred years, and dozens of them in the last several decades. Most of them far more egregious than what the Astros did.
As for the complaint about Toronto, I don’t watch them, and have zero evidence they are cheating. However, I saw a video this morning of Vladdy’s at bat where he hit the grand slam. He was as nonchalant has I’ve ever seen a baseball player at bat with the bases loaded in a playoff game. First pitch, he backed out of the box before it even got to home plate. Then he watched 2 pitches, and didn’t look like he ever planned on swinging even though one was right down the middle. Fourth pitch he jumps on and absolutely crushed it. Out of curiosity, I checked the pitch log and it was sweeper, sinker, sinker, fastball.
Is that how we start fake lies about other players? I don’t know, I’m not a famous YouTuber…
Astros go the idea from Yankees. Per Beltran, everyone was doing it
Didn’t the Red Sox get caught for cheating before the Astros?
There is literally a NY Times article – that is still available to anyone today – titled “MLB Letter Confirms Yankees Used Technology for Sign Stealing”:
The list of mlb players who defended/contextualized the 2017 Astros is far bigger than the number who criticized them.
The only ones who’re still butthurt are fans. Even Kike Hernandez, who was on the 2017 Dodgers, said he didn’t give a shit about it.
Yankees fans (in general, no offense to any Yankees fans who aren’t like this) have a massive issue with entitlement.
They think “we’re the YANKEES, we’re _supposed_ to be good. We’re _entitled_ to be good.” And in a sense, that is true. It’s been what, over 30 years since their last losing season?
So, when the Yankees fall flat on their face, Yankees fans invent these crazy conspiracies and theories, because they couldn’t accept the most likely outcome: that they’re just not good.
That “another Astros incident” is called an ass whooping down here
Up north they call it cheating apparently
We all knew this. It’s was the same with Lance Armstrong. Everyone doped in TDF. He was the scapegoat because he got greedy wanted to win 7 in a row.
I really enjoyed watching the Blue Jays deliver that savage beatdown on NYY. I was cackling.
No. We will always carry this burden. Several former players, even managers (https://youtu.be/hh6bfDzh8rs?si=78IywqJb_EdIHKjc) have said it. MLB has decided Astros are getting thrown under the bus. That is why, to this date, it gets mentioned as much as possible.
Yankees and Red Sox get a pass for doing the exaxt same thing and the Dodgers get a pass on gambling. Big market teams get a pass because it would hurt MLB’a bottom line.
If you believe Houston was the only team that stole signs you also believe strippers actually like you.
It doesn’t even matter. The haters are always going to hate.
Jankee fans are the biggest snowflakes in sports.
How are the Jays stealing signs with pitchcom calling the pitches now? Is there a tech where you can intercept the signal now? Lol. Yankees fans overdosing on copium
Fuck the Yankees and their pussy ass fanbase.
No, It’s too easy to hate the other guy, the other guy down there on the insignificant South Coast.
