  1. There it is. The boys made the cut. Well done and looking forward to the season

  2. ASP, MBN, and Finnie welcome to the NHL!!!

  3. So Gus cleared waivers but is still with the team, how long can they keep him before he’d have to clear again? Like if they see someone else on waivers they want to grab or something?

  4. I haven’t been following the preseason, and am absolutely pumped seeing this roster. If I had to watch one more season with Petry/Holl, it may have killed my Red Wings spirit.

  5. JVR on non-roster so they were able to keep Gus on the roster and only sent Holl to GR. Gives us some nice flexibility to test out the kids while the other two continue to practice with them team.

  6. This is the best our roster has looked on paper in a bit at least. Gotta translate into the regular season but optimism is at peak pre-season high

  7. I can see someone taking Gustaffson with retention if the team wants to do that.

  8. Finnie centennials are on the menu (I am not in a financial situation to buy a 20yr old 7th round pick’s jersey this early into his career but it would be pretty sick)

  9. Because I genuinely don’t know: With JvR dealing with personal stuff, and being a LWer, if/when it’s time for him to play, what then happens (assuming there are no roster injuries for others)? Is he just woven in and out of the roster from time to time while another LWer is a healthy scratch for those games? Or is that a “wait and see” sort of thing? Wasn’t sure if this is a normal thing that happens or not. Seeing someone else commenting below that he’s had enough years in the NHL, he’s probably not worried about missing some time (and it sounds like there’s no hard pressure from TMac et al. to get back stat, yet at least), so I’m sure it doesn’t matter one way or another. Just curious.

  10. The young kids making it raise the ceiling for this team. Hopefully they can be stable over the course of the heavy NHL season
