HUGE Bengals Rumors After Lions Loss: Fire Zac Taylor? Trade Trey Hendrickson? Bench Jake Browning?
[Music] What’s going on Bengals fans? Chris Dot here with another edition of Bengals breakdown by chat sports. You guys know what we do on every single Monday after game day. It is overreaction Monday to the Bengals just frankly embarrassing yet again for the third week in a row. 37 to 24 loss against the Detroit Lions. Let’s get straight into it here. our first overreaction for the second week in a row now. I believe it is. Fire Zack Taylor. Um I don’t think this is an overreaction at all. I think he’s just at this point he is not a competent head coach. When Joe Burrow is in there, he is praised for having this amazing offense. Well, it’s really not that amazing. Joe Burrow is going out there making this offense look amazing despite Zack Taylor at this point. You know, they run the same plays every single week. There is zero evolution to this offensive game plan. They don’t do anything off of uh you know other plays. When you watch other games around the league and you see you know a formation and maybe there’s some motion early in the game. Then later on in the game, you see the same formation, you see the same motion and then they just run a completely different play off of that, you know, same play that the defense saw earlier in the game to confuse them. You don’t see that at all in this game plan from Zack Taylor. There’s none of that. You know, they use pre- snap motion just because they think they need to. It’s just motion for the sake of having motion. If you were going to use pre-nap motion, it’s supposed to get the defense out of position or give your guys kind of a head start so they can fly down the football field and beat those defenders. If you don’t see any of that or you don’t see any of that in this Bengals offense, it’s the same exact thing week after week after week. just cookie cutter. And you know, Zack Taylor just does not or is not able to scheme up anything with Jake Browning. They’re still not able to run the football. He still refuses to give Sam per more carries. It’s the same thing every single week. I am tired of it. Do I think the Bengals are actually going to fire him? No. But I’m with you guys. I think the Bengals should fire Zack Taylor. So, if you want the Bengals to fire Zack Taylor, get down there and like today’s video. Hey, maybe if the we get a ton of likes on this video, maybe they’ll go out there and fire him. But get down there and like today’s video if you guys are like me and you are done dealing with Zack Taylor. Overreaction two here. This one might get a little bit controversial here, but I I think it might be time to trade Trey Hendrickson for some draft capital here. I just do not see a fix for this Bengals team in 2025. And don’t get me wrong, I think Trey Hendrickson is an incredible football player. I still think he is playing at a very high level for the Bengals right now, but the Bengals most likely aren’t going to bring him back next year anyways. You know, they could technically tag him or maybe even tag and trade him, but you know, they essentially already drafted Shamar Stewart to be his replacement. And like I said, Trey Hendrickson is still playing very, very high level football for the Cincinnati Bengals right now. He had two sacks yesterday. So far in 2025, he’s got four sacks, a couple of TFLs. He’s got a forced fumble as well. I think the big question right now is, you know, he turns 31 in December. The Bengals already let him seek a trade and nobody was willing to give the Bengals what they wanted in return, which I believe it was a first round draft pick and a starting caliber defensive player. I don’t know right now if they could get a first round draft pick for him because look, a new team is either just going to be renting him or they’re going to have to give him a contract extension. And I think they could, you know, probably still get a second round pick for him, maybe even a later round pick adding on to that as well. Maybe you could get two picks for him. But, you know, there is no point in my opinion keeping Trey Hendrickson right now if they’re not going to try to upgrade what they have right now at this quarterback position cuz right now that is the biggest thing holding this Bengals team back. So, what do you guys think? Should the Bengals trade Trey Hendrickson? Type Y for yes or for no down at the pin comment of today’s video. Not necessarily because you don’t want Trey Hendrickson anymore. That’s not it at all. I’m just kind of at the point now if they don’t fix this quarterback position, there might not really be a, you know, positive outlook for this Bengals team this year and you might as well get some draft capital out of it. That’s kind of how I’m spinning that there. But let me know what you guys think down at the pin comment of today’s video. Now, going off of that, I think it’s time to either bench Jake Browning or trade for a quarterback. Look, I don’t think Brett Ripen’s really the answer either. That’s why I think you need to go out there and trade for a quarterback. But even if you do, I don’t know if that’s going to fix all the problems that you have on this Bengals team right now. Look, Jake Browning right now is just playing downright awful. And I get it. This offensive line sucks. This offensive scheme sucks. And even if you do go out and get another quarterback, like it still might be another, you know, at least two weeks before they can actually start for you. And even if they do, how vanilla is that offense really going to be in the first couple of weeks that, you know, hypothetically that new quarterback would come in and, you know, be playing under? You know, Jake Browning so far this year, it just has not been good at all for the Bengals. He’s got more interceptions than touchdowns this year. And I found this stat as well. You know, we talked about the fact that seems like every single time the Bengals try to push the ball downfield, Jake Bounding just throws an interception. Well, the completed air yards per pass attempt, that means air yards on completed passes only per attempt, 3.2. So on average, you cannot complete a pass over four yards. You are not going to win football games doing that. And even when they try to push the ball downfield, most of the time just ends up being a pick. That long touchdown play to uh Jamar Chase, look, that was just a busted coverage. And even on that play, you know, I was holding my breath that he was going to overthrow him or throw it out of bounds. And really, it wasn’t anything that Jake Browning did on that. It was more a, you know, busted coverage and a really good route, honestly, by Jamar Chase there. So, you know, look, and if you’re going to go out and trade for a quarterback, still the options aren’t, you know, the best out there. You know, Kurt Cousins is available, I guess, but you’d have to pay him the contract that he has. That’s just absolutely asinine right now. My favorite option is to go out and trade for Jameus Winston because he might not be great, but damn, it would really really be fun. He may throw a couple of interceptions in these games as well, but he might also throw for 500 yards in the game. Russell Wilson, I think when you’re going to talk about trading for Giants quarterbacks, he’s probably the most likely option because I don’t think the Giants really want to trade Jameus Winston at this time right now. And look, I’ll be honest, Russell Wilson, in my opinion, still kind of sucks. Marcus Mariota is an interesting option, but you know, he’s had to play a little bit this year with Jaden Daniels kind of being banged up for the Commanders. You know, Tanner McKe, I think at times when he’s got some playing time, he’s looked pretty good, but you know, he’s a strong second team quarterback for the Eagles right now. Do they want to trade him? You might have to make it worth their while there. Jacobe Brassett’s an interesting one. He’s got plenty of starting quarterback experience in the NFL. Um, he’s with the Cardinals right now. I don’t know. That’s another option. It’s a bigger body guy that can run the football and run around in circles because your offensive line can’t block. Gardner Menchu, um, you know, you can take your chances with that. I don’t know. He kind of looks like Jesus right now. Maybe that’s who you need to trade for. Just straight up trade for Jesus Christ cuz he’s probably the only person that could go out there behind this offensive line and actually have some success for you. And maybe I mean the last option, Andy Dalton. Maybe you could trade for him, bring him back. But look, I mean, he hasn’t really played high level football in a really long time. Um, so like I said, you know, your options kind of thin right now if you’re trying to trade for a quarterback. That link’s going to be down in the comment section and the description of today’s show. Back to the overreactions here. I think it might be time to start tanking for some high draft picks here. I hate to say it, but I’m kind of at this point right now. you, we are on the verge. We are at a very, very pivotal point in the Bengals 2025 schedule right now. You know, they could get back on track here in the next couple of games. This next game though, you know, you’re going to Green Bay. That one is going to be very, very tough for the Bengals to handle there. But after that, you’ve got the Steelers. That might be a coin flip game, especially these games being at home as well. The Jets, they don’t look like a very good football team either right now. The Bears are kind of, you know, wishy-washy. You never know what you’re really going to get there. But then you do go to the Steelers. That’s always a tough game. Uh, you know, going to Pittsburgh there. So, you know, if you win, you know, four out of these five games, you’re kind of right back in a in the driver’s seat and feeling really good about yourself. But you have to figure it out during these next five games because after that comes a very, very tough stretch of games for the Bengals. You got the Patriots who ended up beating the Bills last night on Sunday Night Football. Then you go to the Ravens, you go to the Bills, then you have the Ravens again at home. And then look, the Dolphins, you know, they’re kind of wishy-washy right now. You never really know how they’re going to be, but you got to figure it out here in the next five games. If you want any chance to, you know, be in a position to where you can get to the playoffs by the time you get to December, possibly Joe Burrow comes back, you know, at that point because really, I think this Dolphins game right here is going to be kind of that target date for Joe Burr to end up returning uh to action here. But, you know, if if you’re not in a position by that game, I I just don’t see a world where they would actually activate Joe Burrow and have him coming back if you’re completely out of the playoff hunt at that point. Make sure you guys are subscribed right here to Bengals Breakdown. It might be that time. We’re going to start doing mock drafts for you guys. We’re also going to do some Zack Taylor replacements for you guys this week as well. So, do not miss out. Hit that sub button and stay uptodate on all things Bengals news. It’s youtube.com/bangglesv. Overreaction number five here. Wanted to go a little bit more positive and try to spin this in a positive light. Look, the defense actually kind of played a little bit decent yesterday. I don’t think this is an overreaction at all. Alen finally blitzed in the first half yesterday and it actually kind of worked. You know, they were able to generate a little bit of pressure at times yesterday. You know, Trey Hendrickson had the two sacks. Joseph Osai had a sack yesterday. Miles Murphy had a sack yesterday. I thought the defensive line actually played pretty decent against the run yesterday as well. I think just overall you held those Lions running backs kind of in check. I think both of those guys had like 56 and 58 yards or something like that. So overall, I think the Lions rushed for like 118 yards in that game. But, you know, considering the fact that Jake Browning gave them three extra possessions, really four extra possessions with that safety, you know, if this offense is even slightly competent, the defense might have actually played well enough in that game yesterday to end up winning it. And, you know, I want to say this too, I said it in the postgame short last night. You know, Zack Taylor can sit up there all he wants during the postgame press conference and talk about the fight that the Bengals team showed late in that game yesterday. I think a lot of that really was more of the Lions starting to get a little bit complacent towards the end of the game. You know, they dulled down the offense. They started running the ball a lot, just trying to run out the clock. And you know, when you saw the Bengals start scoring, you know, that Lions offense really turned it back up and they went right down the field and scored again towards the end of the game. And you know, even that big play to Jamar Chase for that touchdown was a major busted coverage. And I believe, I might be mistaken on this, but I believe that was the play where Tyrion Arnold came out of the game with an injury. The Bengals were going to to uh Tyrion Arnold all game long pretty unsuccess unsuccessfully, I might add, as well. He comes out of the game, they go right in that direction and end up scoring a big touchdown there on a busted coverage. But, you know, just overall the offense was I if the offense was just slightly competent. I think that defense actually played well enough for the Bengals to win that game. So, I want to hear from you guys. How are you feeling about the defense so far this year? Type B if you think it’s better than last year. Type W if you think it’s worse than last year, which at this point I don’t think it’s worse. Or type S if you think it’s about the same as last year. Personally for me, I think they’re playing a little bit better. But I want to hear from you guys down in the comments section of today’s video. [Music]
Cincinnati Bengals rumors and Bengals highlights after their Week 5 loss to the Detroit Lions was another example of why the Bengals need to fire Zac Taylor. Three straight blowout losses and another incompetent performance by Jake Browning prove that Bengals trade rumors for a QB will be prevalent over the next few weeks. The Bengals schedule gets a little bit easier over the next few weeks and will be pivotal to Joe Burrow’s return timeline. If they continue to lose games, we will begin dropping Bengals Mock Drafts and Zac Taylor replacement candidate videos.

Getting a new QB would be putting lipstick on a pig. What would it solve? Absolutely nothing.
I think they will keep Zack two more years when contract up.
Defense is B (Better) than last year. I agree, the defensive line looked pretty darn good to me. And it wasn't just that Browning handed the ball over to the offense so many times, it's that he did it in Bengals territory every time. Detroit had short fields to work with.
Zack and O line coach both need fired. Joe has taken a beating bc he’s never protected and he has to be coach & QB essentially.
Trey Hendrickson isn't going anywhere
Mike Brown has always wanted an 8-8 record, he's done it again
They can’t fire Zac without also firing Duke and hiring more scouts!
Let’s get serious about this! No more half-assing!
Trading hendrickson makes the team worse
You will say and post anything to try and get views. You moron. How can they get rid of their best defensive player when they have a below average D. They can get another QB without Hendrickson even being in conversation. You know shit about football. Unfollow this clown.
if we fire Zack Taylor who do you all have in mind?
sure why not trade the only good defense player on your team you drated most of these losers any way if i was trey id ask to go you could trade him for the 10 best players in the nfl and still not win when you have a coach who can't get call in on time run the same run plays there only run programs is running up the middle you have a defense coach who doesn't believe in pass rushing offense coach who is afraid to bench players who couldn't stop an 8th grade line and you got an front office who only cares about lining there pockets fire the coaches tell the players to step up or be benched that is a start and fans gonna have to quit buying tickets as bad as it sounds
"Straight up trade for Jesus Christ" I died….🤣
Bro, this dude is funny! I enjoy this content #WhoDEy
Only one game under 500. Mr Brown won't fire Zac. Gets all the season ticket holders money 💰. Never leaves his office. 👋
Its the Hamilton County taxpayers curse. Taxpayers have been charged a total of 1.1 billion dollars for the stadium and upgrades.
Suckers
Fire Zac Taylor yesterday!
Play calling is absolute ass! 👎🏽
I’ve been saying this… Joe Brady for head coach, golden is a good high school coach at best yeah he did great against low level sub par teams last year but as soon as he played a real team he got seriously exposed… as to o line … these guys r good players just not coached well and the stunts and schemes r too predictable and tell the d what we r doing…just simple blocking.. do not let ur man get around u on pass plays and drive ur man back on the run plays.. simple foundational playing… as to browning… why not have Mike white rotate with him.. give defenses something to not b prepared for…
Bengals don’t know how to evaluate and draft players and develop players
