HOW IS MIKE MCDANIEL STILL EMPLOYED?!?! Miami Dolphins News LIVE After NFL Week 5

Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. What’s up, Dolphins fans? Welcome into Dolphins Today by Chat Sports. I am your host, Nick Roloff, here live on Monday afternoon following NFL week five. Miami obviously losing again to the Carolina Panthers on the road 2724. There have been a lot of hot takes flying after this game from yours truly and others. Shout out producer Coupe being in the building today with us and shout out your city for me down in the comments section as well. But McDaniel, how is he still employed? Chris Greer, how is he still employed? There’s a lot of talk on Dolphin’s Twitter. Who is to blame? Is it Tua? Is it the defense? Is it Greer? Is it McDaniel? Guess what? The answer is all of them. Chris Greer put together a really bad roster. Mike McDaniel is a very bad head coach. Tua, even though he had a game-winning potential drive late in the fourth quarter on that 47 yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Wadd, came up short on the second attempt with under two minutes to go. missing Jaylen Wadd wide open 15 yards down the field would have been a 20 yard gain ultimately led to the Dolphins having to punt on fourth and 18 and when I say having I mean Mike McDaniel being horrible and then obviously how can you not blame the defense as well 229 rushing yards 239 excuse me 20 209 to Rico D 206 I think but either way Rico Dattle having over 200 yards is an absolute joke. And I gotta say, I’m sorry I missed the watch party yesterday, but yeah, I blame you for the loss, too. If Coupe gets a percentage, that’s fine. Um, I think I’m glad that I didn’t see that game because knowing how bad you kind of like you kind of crashed out this morning on our morning VOD, I won’t lie, I can only imagine what it was in real time of you just watching this absolute collapse from this incompetent football team that is the Miami Dolphins. Oh man, it How do you punt the football with a minute 15 left down three? I don’t care. It was fourth and 18. As bad as it gets, dude. As bad as it gets. But hey, we’re still here live talking everything Dolphins football. We got a lot of news to discuss. A lot of injury news came out from last game. Like, that’s the craziest thing is that we have a ton of injury news to discuss. two starting defenders left yesterday’s game and could be in jeopardy this upcoming Sunday against the Chargers. We have updates on potential players returning and all this was put to the wayside because of how bad your coach and GM actually is. But let’s give some shout outs. My guy Cory Belouse is here, the MVP from yesterday’s stream. Shout out to you Corey. We got Tyson Bryan in the building. We got Slaying Cat in Boca Raton. Derek Mort in Ottawa, Ontario. We got Bruce in the building. What’s up, Bruce? I haven’t seen you in a while. Uh, fish are friends, not food. Shout out, Bruce. Jacksonville for Laura. We got Mario says, “Get off to I mean, listen, I I I got to be honest. Anyone defending anyone in this situation?” Yeah. Like, there’s no one that deserves You’re losing the plot here. I got like You really are. There is like four players that deserve no blame outside of yesterday’s game. There’s like four, maybe two. Honestly, I think there’s two. Jaylen Wadd and Darren Wall are the only two players that don’t deserve any blame. They went for a combined, let me think. Uh, I think they combined for 11 12 receptions, 190 yards, and two touchdowns. I And I remember we were talking about this a few weeks ago. Can you name seven players that should be on the Dolphins next season? I think the number has dwindled down to like It’s dwindled. It’s dwindled. It’s dwindled. We’ve been we’ve talked about this before of like who should be on if you only were allowed seven players to take from this year’s team to next year’s team. You can’t get to seven. Who would it be? Wadd is one obviously. Han’s a two. Patrick Paul’s three. Ollie Gordon. No, you could end the list there. I got to be honest. I would still keep Aaron Brewer. He was still solid yesterday. So the like the list is four. Like, but if you told me I didn’t like we could get like 20 new defensive players for next season, I think I would be in. Oh, yeah. Like I think Chop Robinson might still sneak on the list. A little too early to give up on him. But like Kenneth Grant, horrible. Terrible. Jonah, your second round pick this year. Worse than awful. Like it’s just bad, man. It’s just bad. Bad bad bad. Who is the person that should get the most blame for why the Dolphins have been horrible over the last two years? Is it the head coach Mike McDaniel? Is it Chris Greer, the GM? Or is it the owner Steven Ross? This is also our pinned poll. I was very fascinated to see the answers. And the poll has it 41% Mike or Steven Ross, 33% Chris Greer, and 25% Mike McDaniel. So, Coach McDaniel is last on the list of blame. And I actually agree. Absolutely. But but here is my take on why I dis why I agree. One, these two should both not be employed. Correct. But it’s not their fault that they still are. So the most blame should be on the owner for allowing these two to still have a job. No doubt. But if you take Ross away from it, I do blame Chris Greer way more than Mike McDaniel because Greer has put together one of the worst rosters I have seen defensively in a long time. And the inability to build a correct offensive line over the last four or five years plus has been unbelievably bad. So if you take away Ross who deserves the most blame just because he still employs these two, it does go Chris Greer more blame over McDaniel in my opinion. Yeah, Chris Greer is the quote unquote architect of the roster. And also, and it’s kind of a trickle down effect, like Steven Ross is the reason why Chris Greer and Mike McDaniel are employed. Well, Chris Greer is the reason Mike McDaniel’s still employed. So, it’s kind of a trickle down effect. Well, I wouldn’t go that far. Well, I would. Chris Ger could have fired McDaniel. I don’t No, the G the GM cannot fire the coach without the owner set. Yeah, that’s fair. That’s probably fair. So, but no, I mean, it starts at the top. It starts with your owner. He is responsible for all decisions made on his football team, football operations, and the business side of the franchise. Steven Ross has basically told Dolphins fans to their faces, he does not care. Yeah. By the fact that Chris Gear and Mike McDaniel are still in point. Yeah. And like listen, I I’ve had a lot of swings and misses on some takes this year. I I said the front seven was going to be elite. I believed in Jaylen Phillips and Bradley Chub returning. I believed in Secondyear Chop. I believed in Zack Caler. I believed in Kenneth Grant being a um average player in the NFL as a rookie. That obviously was not the case. So, I’ve had misses. There is no better take that I’ve had on the entire show than when I said last January following the conclusion of the season, Stephen Ross should fire Chris Ger and Mike McDaniel without a second of hesitation. I actually said the Dolphins should fire Mike McDaniel in December before the year concluded. And it was the game against the Texans in week 15, the one that really did me in. But like it was so obvious these two shouldn’t have been able to return. Ross allowed them to return and then now look at where it’s gotten us. It’s just been absolutely atrocious. $5 super chat from Christian. Appreciate you, my friend. If anyone wants to get their thoughts on screen, we’re not going to be doing a mailbag today. So, if you want to get on the show, ask me a question or get your thoughts in front of all the other Dolphins fans here and have a therapy and event session together. Super chat is the way to do that. Appreciate the five. Ross needs to sell the team. Listen, and here’s the part to where I’m a little bit like up in the air on that. I understand people are frustrated with Ross because he continues to employ McDaniel and Greer, but the truth is this. Ross is actually one of the owners that spends the most in the NFL. He he religiously spends on the roster. He religiously spends on the outside of football type of stuff like the locker room renovations, the um the the what the I’m spacing on the word, the amenities. That’s what I was looking for in terms of like the chefs, the the locker room, the recovery systems that they have in place. Like he spends a lot of money to make sure the players enjoy the locker room, but what he doesn’t do is take action when it is required with the people at the top of the organization. He’s overly loyal. I hate to use our division rival as an example, but the Patriots, they are, if not the best, the second best organization in the history of the NFL. You can debate who’s the better organization between the Patriots and the Steelers, the two teams with the most Super Bowls. But listen, they went on an unbelievable dynasty for 20 years. They had the best head coach in NFL history in Bill Bich. He was washed. Washed. Craft said, “I had enough. I know you spent 20 years here delivering us six Super Bowls. You aren’t getting the job done anymore. You got to go mutually part ways.” Not a popular decision. It wasn’t. You hire Gerrod Mayo as the replacement. One year disaster. Craft sends him to the pathway, says, “Goodbye, Gerard. We can’t do this again.” Brings in Mike Vrabel. and they just went into Buffalo last night and got a win with their secondyear quarterback making what his 17th start in his career. So, it’s so frustrating to me because the Patriots had the greatest dynasty of all time. They go into oblivion for four years and suck and now they’re probably already further ahead. Actually, not probably. They are further ahead in their pursuit of a potential Super Bowl and being a contender than the Dolphins who have been trying to rebuild for 25 years. You know how embarrassing that is? A team goes from dynasty to [ __ ] and now they’re already ahead of you in terms of being up there to contend for a Super Bowl again. They absolutely are ahead of me. It’s just like I have no issue with Ross in terms of his spending and his ability to make sure his players are happy, but you need to have a quick trigger when it comes to how poorly these two people at the top of the organization are. They need to go. And every day that he does not fire them is a slap in the face of Dolphins fans across the world. And I firmly believe that. I firmly believe that he has to go. Should have been this off season and now you see what happens. This team is an absolute disaster on both sides. It’s so bad. And I assume most of you are going to type why for you at this. But should the Dolphins fire Mike McDaniel today? It should have been yesterday. I Yes, absolutely. Now I’m reading between the tea leaves this Sunday. Like I I know I’ve speculated before about week three in Buffalo. This could be the last straw this weekend. Uh we’re going to make a show about it in a couple days, so stay tuned for that. But in Mike McDaniels press conference today, um let me find the bookmark. Give me one second. I want to find the bookmark tweet. But so I have the exact verbiage. One second. Mike McDaniel had a meeting with Stephen Ross after the game yesterday. Now, this isn’t uncommon. Most owners speak with the GM in the head coach after every NFL game, but the synopsis of that meeting, McDaniels said, “Stephen Ross was really frustrated as I was. We talked about the challenge ahead to get ready for the Chargers. Now, maybe I’m reaching and maybe I’m just hoping here, but if Stephen Ross vented to McDaniel about his frustration with the team in that loss, that could also mean he may have told him, “If you do not correct the ship and get a win this week at home against Justin Herbert and the Chargers, you’re done.” speculation, but would it surprise you based off what Mike McDaniel said there? He admitted Stephen Ross was really frustrated and they talked about the week ahead against the Chargers. Would it surprise you if that is Mike McDaniel kind of coming out of that believing his job is on the line this Sunday? I think the only thing that would surprise me is just because the Dolphins have been so reluctant to make inseason coaching changes in their history that this would be sort of unprecedented, but the circumstances call for special things to happen. But my also thing is like if you’re Steven Ross, you’ve got to have someone that is keeping tabs on social media. Absolutely. message boards, the the the fan base and their overall thoughts because listen, yeah, Dolphins football and the NFL is all about winning and winning a Super Bowl, but don’t get it twisted, man. Like, it’s all about keeping the fans happy so you can maximize revenue and your profit, which is because it is a business. But the truth is, I think most fans are are are done. Most fans are done buying merchandise, done showing up to games. Ticket prices are going to plummet. And I think Stephen Ross knows, hey, we’re losing the fan base right now with this head coach and GM combination. We got to save our face here. And they got to go. And I and it’s obviously not going to happen this week because if it was, they wouldn’t let him speak to the media today. And if they did fire him before this week and let him speak on Monday, that’s even bigger of a joke. Um, but I I think this Sunday could be the last straw. Maybe that’s me just hoping, but hey, we’ll we’ll ultimately see. We’ll ultimately see. Kaslin with a super chat. Landlines Finn for next head coach and John McKay as GM. I don’t know who those people are. Me neither to be honest. Not familiar with their works. But they’re probably better than Mike McDaniel and Chris Greer. That would be my guess. Yeah, I don’t know. I looked up Lens Line Finn just on Google and it’s just showing up construction finance. Interesting. I I don’t know. Maybe I’m Maybe I’m missing it. Maybe I’m missing it. I don’t know. Um either way, like I know someone says, “Not me, bro. I’m a fan till I die.” Well, you could be a fan and also not buy merchandise and go to games. Like seriously, no doubt. Like I I don’t know, man. It’s just so frustrating. And like I just hope that they ultimately realize that they need to make changes. They do. We have 180 people watching. 178 people watching. I don’t know why I said twice. Um, just thinking about how much McDaniels be fired. But I want to start today’s show and we need to get the likes up here. We got 44 likes. Let’s get to 85 likes to start today’s show. So, we’re 40 away. Hit that thumbs up icon to get today’s show started. We have a busy show and we have a lot of stuff to talk about. So, hit that thumbs up icon. Help us out. Let’s get to that 85 number. Let’s not the let the Dolphins break our spirit. Let’s get it locked and loaded so we can start today’s real topics of conversation because we have three segments that we need to talk about. The Dolphins news is continuing to get worse. And I have a segment that maybe some Dolphins fans just simply won’t believe. Like seriously. And then we’re also going to talk some draft targets. Like listen, the Dolphins hold the fourth pick of the draft right now. They do. and the season’s likely over. So, I want to highlight 10 targets that the Dolphins could end up tanking for. Defense, offense, couple quarterbacks in there. Um, so yeah, we’re going to look ahead. We’re going to look now. No special teamers. We’ll see what happens here. We’ll see what happens here, but we got to get to 85 likes before we start the show. We’re at 67, so we’re under 20 to go. 20 away. Hit that thumbs up icon. Hit that thumbs up icon. Brother, that’s a great question, Br. Like, listen, if I’m going to be honest, not really, man. There’s not. Not really. But you know how the quarterback market goes, probably going to have one or two picks inside the top five because quarterbacks are just put at such a larger premium at the draft. So, are they deserving of a a top five pick? Probably not. But will there be one or two? Absolutely. Absolutely. And that’s just the story of the NFL if we’ll be honest. That is how it works. Like I if we’ll be real here, I I know some people are going to disagree because they’re Miami Hurricane homers, but was Cam Ward worthy of the number one pick? I I don’t think so. Like if you look across the NFL and say who should have been the number one pick, it should have probably been Abdul Kard. him or Travis Hunter probably should have went number one, but because Cam Ward was a QB, well, he’s gonna go number one. Positional value. Positional value indeed. We need five more likes to start the show. So, hit that thumbs up icon. Let’s get to that number. But we also got one more $5 super chat. We got to get on screen. Shout out my guy Caslyn. He’s sending a couple fives on today’s show. I said, if you want to ask a question or get your thoughts vent on screen with everybody else, well, this is the way to do it. Lane Keifin for head coach and John McCay for GM, current assistant GM for the Rams. Well, Kaslin, I haven’t been keeping tabs on the GM candidates out there and the best ones. I know Ian Cunningham in Chicago, but and listen, any GM that works for a stable, well-ran organization or assistant, sign me up. So, John McCay, certainly going to look into him. Going to keep him on my option list. I’ll look at anywhere in anyone in the Baltimore Ravens organization. I’ll look at anywhere in anyone in the Lions organization. Um the 49ers organization. John Lynch runs a good ship there. I wouldn’t be looking at the Bears organization. Yeah, but Ian Cunningham has been a top uh front office member for a while, but I will say he’s gotten multiple GM interviews and never been hired. So maybe there’s something more to the story there. Um Tim says, “Rolley for GM.” Uh my I have a potential agent. I I know who I would have as my agent. There is no question who I would have as my agent. Shout out Tom Cyp baby in the win sports group. We weren’t on the same page. Well, Will doesn’t work in that area. He’s NFL licensed, but he’s not. He’s a Yeah, for players. Same. No, it’s not. It’s actually not even close. Fine Will Scott. He’s licensed for the NFL PA. Yeah, which means he could do that job, too. He could shout out type though. I would choose Tom. Sorry. Well, Tom’s in already in the coaching business. Lane Kein. No, listen. College guy. College guy. Also, I love that he’s had his image rebranded. Um, with social media and what he said to the media, that’s the last thing the Miami Dolphins. Now, let’s be real here. They do not need the Lane Kein media experience. Yeah. The last thing the Dolphins need is the Lane Keifin jokes and social media presence. Last thing we need, we need a guy that’s just going to come in, do his job, lead men. I’ll tell you what, folks. I might make a video about it this week. Keep your eye on Mr. Harbbo in Baltimore. It’s going south quickly for the Ravens. He could be canned. What about the And I would bring him into Miami. What about the coach of the Tar? All right, start the show. We got 85 likes. Appreciate everyone. Coup’s on some [ __ ] today, man. I don’t know what it’s all about. Coup’s saying some nonsense. That’s a It’s You know, some days Coupe just he just gets ahead of himself. Gets out. I I just like to keep you on your toes. No, you’re just you’re saying nonsense. I just like to keep you on your two things in the last two minutes about nonsense. How is that nonsense? Bill Bichc. Why not getting ran out of the building by shitty Kate Clubnick and Clemson? He’s more likely than Lane Keifin is. That That is actually incorrect. Oh, hard disagree. I actually disagree with your disagree. I disagree with your disagreeing of my disagreement. No world where the Dolphins would hire Bill Bich. There’s no world where they go either of them, but Lane Kein is at least 0.1% higher of a chance than Bill Bich. Wrong. You’re wrong. All right, let’s get into the first segment. We got news to talk about. Somehow in Miami, it’s getting worse. It feels like a rains of pores. Certainly pouring in the 305 right now. And uh we also got some draft targets that we might tank for. And boy oh boy, you won’t believe this. So with that being said, let’s get into the first segment on today’s live show. Every day I ask myself, can it get worse for the Miami Dolphins? And it feels like almost every single day, the answer is yes. The news coming out of NFL week five following this blown loss in 2724 embarrassment to the Carolina Panthers, the news is somehow worse. There’s some injury news. There is a update on a couple players trying to return from IR that is not positive. It’s just absolutely brutal. Who has it worse than us? Nobody. Make sure you follow me on Twitter, though, because I am continuing to have updates on the Dolphins over there. Nick Rolloff is my handle. And when the news breaks that Mike McDaniels inevitably fired, not when, but or not if, but when, I will have it there first. So, go give me a follow right now. The news that headlines this show though revolves on the offensive line. When Mike McDaniel spoke to media earlier today, he was asked if James Daniels and Austin Jackson, who are eligible to return this week against the Chargers, will be activated off of IR. Well, they were lumped in with Liamenberg and Andrew Meyer as several weeks for that collective group. Not even just a simple no. several weeks, which means James Daniels not only is probably not returning this week against the Chargers, but probably won’t be returning in week seven against the Cleveland Browns. Same thing could be said about Austin Jackson, which by the way, not only the Chargers have one of the best defensive fronts in football, but the Cleveland Browns defensive line has been absolutely dominant. They have been one of the best run defense in the NFL. They obviously have Miles Garrett. Like I just continue to look at our schedule. And after feeling a little bit positive about it, I have no faith in a win coming anytime soon with how poor this offensive line is playing and how poor this defensive line is playing. And you are not getting the reinforcements you may have gotten or may have thought you were going to get based off what Mike McDaniel just said. Like you look at what the Dolphins did on Sunday against Carolina running the football. It was non-existent. They had 19 rushing yards. That should come as no surprise in the fact that it was last amongst teams in NFL week five. Entering Monday Night Football. And I’ll say entering Monday Night Week football, there’s no world where the Chiefs or Jaguars have worse rushing numbers than the Dolphins. So last, third worst. That’s going to play here. 1.4 yards for carry. How is that possible? Like seriously, how is that possible? 1.4 4 yards per carry. I should have looked this up before I filmed this and went live. What is the worst yards per carry in an NFL game in history? I feel like 1.4 got to be pretty damn close. Somehow though, they didn’t have the worst EPA per rush. They were third worst in that regard. But they did have the biggest stuff rate. 42.9% of their runs were stuffed at or behind the line of scrimmage. That was worse than the NFL entering Monday Night Football in week five by about 17%. The next worst team was about at 25. It was embarrassing. And it has to do with the fact that Miami has backups at right guard and right tackle. Cole Strange got his second straight start for the Dolphins at right guard. Larry Boram has started at right tackle for weeks two, three, four, and five. Borum has been one of the, if not the worst right tackles in all football. Cole Strange had a relatively fine day against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, but was absolutely abused against Derek Brown and Aan Robinson and the Carolina Panthers. An 18.1 pass blocking grade. He allowed five pressures in the last two weeks. That is so bad, man. And you see Larry Bor’s numbers, they’re not even any better. Like Cole Strange was consistently getting beat very quickly against Derrick Brown and Aan Robinson. And I get it, Derek Brown’s the top five defensive lineman on the interior in all football. He has a massive contract in Carolina. You know what? And this quick sidebar, it’d be nice to have our big paid defensive lineman be as impactful as Derek Brown has been. He got his contract, he’s earning it in Carolina. Zack Cer got his and he has been a no-show for most of this season so far. But the offensive line has been brutal. Like Jonah Saviniah, we’ll get to him in just a second, has been the worst offensive guard and I’ll say the worst offensive lineman in all of football this year. Like you drafted Jonah in round two. You signed James Daniels in free agency to upgrade this front five. Jackson, Daniels, Brewer, Savaniah, and Paul. You hope that these five would be really, really solid for you. Well, two of them haven’t played basically all season and the second round pick has been the worst player in football. I was hoping to get James Daniels back for this week because he’s been out for four weeks with a pec injury. There was buzz about maybe he could return closer to that four-week mark. Evidently, that’s not the case. But let’s talk about Jonah Savinia now because he is somehow and I never thought these words would come out of my mouth. He is making me miss Liam Iikenberg. I was like we all wanted Liam Iikenberg ejected to the sun last season in the off season. But the truth is he is infinitely better than what Jonah Savania has done, what Cole Strange has done, what Keon Smith has done, what Daniel Brunkill has done. I can’t believe I’m saying and praising Liam Iikenberg so much because I was his number one hater. But when you have a left guard graded out as the worst guard in football, 86th run blocker, 98th pass blocker. I don’t know how there’s four or five people with a worse pass blocking grade at the guard position than Jonah Savi. This guy was advertised to be a plugandplay offensive lineman due to his versatility at Arizona playing 700 snaps at right tackle, a thousand at right guard and 400 at left tackle throughout his collegiate career. His ability to block in zone run blocking schemes was advertised at Arizona. Yet he has been nothing short of a joke this season. I It is bad. And you have to ask the question, should the Dolphins bench him? Like, I get it. He’s only played five games in his career. You traded up to get him in the second round of this year’s draft, but you are getting the worst offensive line play in the NFL out of them right now. Should the Dolphins bench him? You make the call. Why for yes or N for no? Like you do have to seriously think about this because at what point are you doing a disservice to him in his career? There is a chance maybe maybe he rebounds from this, but I think it is more likely than not you ultimately get the best return on Jonah if you bench him, let him clear his head, let him sit, let him rest, let him learn, watch tape, work on his technique, his mechanics, his footwork, his hand placement, all of the above. That might be the best way forward for Jonah Savvy and Ia. But the problem is as well, is there anyone better to replace Jonah? Because we are having to shuffle between Keon Smith, Daniel Brunskill, and Cole Strange at right guard. So, one of those three would have to play left guard. And then one of So, two of those guys would be playing when James Daniels is still out of the lineup. And that’s just as bad, if not worse. So, you have to wonder long term if the Dolphins should bench Jonah to try to get him right. But you also are going to be putting out someone that is equally as bad or just as worse. All right, moving forward to some other injury news. Tyrell Dodson is in concussion protocol. He left the game halfway through on Sunday against the Panthers. and Cornell Armstrong will miss time with a hamstring injury. That is now multiple corners with a hamstring injury right now. Jason Marshall Jr., the rookie out of Florida, obviously on IR right now with a hamstring injury. Armstrong was looking like the starting nickel corner for Miami in week five. He played in 23 snaps before he ultimately suffered that hamstring injury and did not return. So, the question is, who is going to replace him at that starting nickel spot with Jason Marshall Jr. still on IR? We’ll have that answer potentially coming up in just a second. But this episode is brought to you by Prize Pix. You and I make decisions every single day. The right decisions on Prize Pix can get you paid. So simple to play. Just pick more or less on two or more player stat projections. If you get your pick rights, you could cash in. Prize picks the only app that offers stacks, meaning you can pick the same player up to three times in the same lineup. Want to pick more on Devonte Chan receptions, rushing yards, touchdowns? Well, you can do that all in the same lineup only on Prize Picks. Prico offers injury re reboots. If one of your players leaves the game in the first half and doesn’t return, Prize picks won’t count it as a loss. I’m already looking forward to week six. I’ll go less than Justin Fields passing yards. He’s horrific. I’ll go less than Dylan Gabriel passing yards. Actually didn’t look that bad, but playing a Steelers defense coming off a buy. Mike Tomlin’s been money against rookie quarterbacks. I’ll also go more than Debo Samuel. He’s been like elite this year for the Commanders. We saw that coming. But join me on Prize Fix. Download the app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Well, one player that could be returning to the Dolphins lineup. And we’ll get more information as the week progresses is Storm Duck, the secondyear UDFA corner, who is projected to be the starting CB1 for the Dolphins this season. And he did start as the CB-1 against the Colts with Jack Jones as the CB2. Duck got hurt. Rousul Douglas goes into the lineup, but Duck has been out for four weeks now. He missed weeks two, week three, week four, and week five. He was not placed on IR. I thought the Dolphins should have probably put him on IR if they thought he was going to miss four games. If he misses this week, that would be five games. And it’s really like, why didn’t you put him on IR? So, the signs would tell you it’s likely he at least plays this week in week five, and they were hoping to get him back in week four, but it ultimately just didn’t work out the way they wanted to. The issue is though, you don’t really have a lot of slot corners on this roster right now. You have five active corners on the 53man roster. Rousul Douglas in his career, the most tenur guy, played 333 snaps, but he’s mostly a boundary corner. Jack Jones in his three four year career has played 106 snaps on the inside, but once again mostly a boundary guy. Storm Duck has only done it seven snaps. Juju Brent has only done it four snaps and Ethan Bonner has never done it in an NFL game. So if you asking me on how the Dolphins address that nickel spot in a nickel defense, it’s likely going to be a three safety look. Whether it’s Mika Fitzpatrick who has played nickel in the past for the Steelers and the Dolphins, whether it’s Eatu Malafanu, Ashton Davis, Dante Trader Jr., the secondary for Miami has not been good whatsoever. But you have to imagine that Miami is going to try to replace that nickel production with one of the four safeties. They consistently rotate on the back end of this defense because simply there isn’t any other better option out there. I could see Miami maybe bring Storm Duck back on the boundary with Rul Douglas and moving Jack Jones to the nickel, but I do think it’s more likely they will go with one of those safeties and just rotate them all over the back end of that defense over moving a corner there long term. Make sure you are subscribed. Yeah, this season is off to a dumpster fire of a start, but we aren’t going anywhere. Two videos every day, live on game days, live day after games and Thursdays. Subscribe for the best coverage of the Miami Dolphins on YouTube. Now, let’s go over to the Tyrell Dodson injury because he is the starting linebacker for the Dolphins. And the next man up might not be the man you would originally think. Most of us would want to see Willie Gay Jr. as the replacement for Tyrell Dodson because of how well he performed in the preseason and in training camp. Well, I actually believe it will be KJ Brett as the starting linebacker next to Jordan Brooks for this week six game against the Chargers if Tyrell Dodson doesn’t clear concussion protocol. And that was the case on Sunday against the Panthers. Brooks led the way at the linebacker spot playing 69 snaps, uh, one short of Max. They were on the field for 70 snaps. Tyrell Dodson played 49, but in the snaps that they needed to replace Dodson with, it was KJ Britt getting 22 snaps. Now, Willie Gay Jr., ironically enough, actually started this game. He was the linebacker on the first play of the game defensively. He played three snaps. Why start him if he’s only going to play three snaps, man? I think it’s going to be a mistake, though, because I know they’re going to play KJ Brett. They have said that Britt is the perfect replacement for Dodson next to Brooks and they say Willie Gay Jr. is the perfect replacement for Duran Brooks if he were to go down. But simply put, play your best linebacker. Like, am I saying Willie Gay Jr. is the best linebacker on the roster? No. It’s still Jordan Brooks. But do I think Willie Gay is better than Brett? Yes, I do. He’s more athletic. He’s more rangy. Is Brett more of a downhill thumper stopper in the run game? And maybe the Dolphins could use that. Sure. But Willie Gay is also that perfect hybrid that can rush the passer, can cover, and can stop some plays in the run game. So, I think it’s a mistake if they go with KJ Brit over Willie Gay Jr., but that is just me. Who is the Dodson replacement for you? Now, maybe he clears concussion protocol and he’s starting this week, but let’s just be pessimistic and say he’s out. Who do you think should replace him in the starting lineup? Willie Gay, type WG. If you think it’s KJ, type KJ Brett. Not to be super negative, but let’s be honest. Does it matter? No. I’m broken, man. Like, this team is beyond cooked. This defense is beyond cooked. We’re one and four. Somehow we’re not last in the division because the Jets are somehow even worse than you. Fire everyone. Whoop! Clean sweep. Rear McDaniel Weaver. Now, are you actually gonna fire everyone? No, because you need coaches to fill out the staff for the rest of the season. The point remains, the season is going nowhere. So, move off of Greer, move off of McDaniel, promote from within, see what they can do at the head coaching spot, and then you’re going to have a full overhaul at the roster this off season. Like I like if you had to have 53 players on this roster that made roster cututodown day, I would bet maybe 14 of them are back next season. That’s how much change you will have. A little pessimistic. I’m sorry folks. That’ll do it for today’s show. You want more on the Dolphins? My true op or my true thoughts, my true takes are over on Twitter as well as YouTube. So give me a follow at Nick_roll. Oh man, fire everyone. It’s just time. Too bad you can’t get rid of the quarterback after this off season. They don’t have a choice there. Oh [ __ ] Wow. Amari and Hampton going on IR. Now that is now that’s two straight weeks where the Dolphins are going to face a team with their backup running back ran for 206 209. What a joke. What will Kamani Vidal do? Does this defense just not have any pride or care? No pride, no teeth, no camaraderie, nothing. The one thing, and we said this in our morning video, it is soft as baby [ __ ] that Minka Fitzpatrick did not speak to the media. He did speak a little bit today. They asked him if he’s given up and he said no. Um, so I don’t know why he did what he did, but he is supposed to be the leader of the team. They traded Jaylen Ramsay and John Smith to go get Minka Fitzpatrick. Well, that’s a little misleading, Coupe. They’re not They didn’t trade the two of them to go get Minka Fitzpatrick. They Yeah, they’re trading Jaylen Ramsay and John Smith regardless and they just got M. They have Ma in return. So, just be careful you say that. Give proper context for sure. But but they have not gotten what they had hoped out of the Ma Fitzpatrick experience so far in his second goound with the Dolphins. I think that’s fair to say. It’s just a brutal man. Team’s just not good. The team is just not good. And I’m not going to lie, didn’t see it coming. This is an old time like what did I just see moment? My guy Noola Topic. Did you see this? Yeah. Oh yeah. His sack. What happened? He must have gotten hurt in the game yesterday. They played yesterday in Charleston against the Hornets. They’re playing tonight in Dallas. Yeah, but back to back they’re not going to play any of this. That’s brutal, man. It has been brutal. Billy says, “Miami should have drafted Drake May. I called it.” Yeah. How would they have done that? Can you answer me? How how they how would they have done that? The Patriots drafted a Met three overall. The The Dolphins had the 21st pick in the draft. Like what? This a stupid ass comment, man. Says, let him know. Stupid ass comment. And what are you going to trade? There’s no world where the Patriots would have ever traded with you in division to and nobody would have traded back from the top three in what might be one of the most loaded QB draft classes in the history of the NFL moving back from the top three to 21. This is a dumbass comment. It’s a good question from Antoine. Where is Kendall Lamb? Yeah, they’re sticking with Borum, which is fine, I guess. Like, whatever. What do I care? You’re a defeated man. I I This is as low as I’ve ever been on a man. Like, I’m done. Like, I’m seeing Patriots fans [ __ ] go nuts on Twitter today because of all they won. Like, is it really that easy? Like, think about the Patriots. like their drafts have not been that good, but all you got to do is hit on the first round. You got to hit on the quarterback. Well, you just got to hit on the QB and hit on the first round picks. Christian Gonzalez. The last three first round picks for the Patriots. Christian Gonzalez, Drake May, Will Campbell. Christian Gonzalez is the second best corner in football, only trailing Pat Certam. Drake May just showed that he is a potential top 10 QB right now. And if you reddrafted every quarterback in the NFL, he’s probably going top five because he’s in his second season. So, it’s like, and then Will Campbell looks like a franchise left tackle. Like, it just man like it pays to hit on your first round picks. The last three first round picks for the Dolphins, who has it been? Kenneth Grant. Bum. Terrible. And that’s why it’s like people always say you got to give rookie times. I understand that. He wasn’t a top five pick. He wasn’t supposed to be a unbelievable franchise changing type of guy right away. Still been horrific. And they this team doesn’t have time. Like they got to win. Kenneth Grant’s not helping him get there. That’s for damn sure. Chop Robinson has been non-existent in year two. Now, part of that is because he has not played any snaps, which is what we’re going to talk about here on this next segment. But man, like it’s just frustrating to see the Patriots do it. And we can listen. You don’t even got to shoot 50% on your draft picks. You don’t have to. If you just shoot really high percentages on your first round picks, you’ll be in a great spot. You’ll be in a great spot, man. This is awesome. Thrive says, “Screw the Dolphins until Greer and McDaniel are gone.” You think Yovich would be worth that bad? Yes, I do. Love I love Nico. Um that’s why I’m excited basketball’s back and even they’re might probably gonna drive me nuts this year. So you’re a Nico stand. Doesn’t pay to be a Miami sports fan right now. Doesn’t doesn’t How’s Inter Miami doing? I don’t know. I guess they still have Messi. I don’t know what’s going on. They do they do have Messi. You would know more than I would. The Panthers are twotime Cup champs. Yeah, I guess not your sport though. I don’t watch hockey, but I know some people do. I know some people do. The Marlins stink. They’re on They’re on the rise. They had a good season. I think for relative They did not They did not have a bad season. Relative to expectations. I think this was a great year for the Marlins. Played Spoiler, kept the Mets out of the playoffs. Like obviously I’m a Mets fan, so that sucked, but um yeah. relative. Yeah, I guess the Canes are good. So, there you go. Miami sports fans. At least one good football team plays at Hard Rock. And it’s not the Aqua and Orange. No, it’s not. No, it’s not. All right, let’s move on to our next segment. It is titled How is this possible? Because we’re going to explain or try to explain how this is possible. So appreciate everybody still hanging with us. Coupe, you ready on ethos? I am ready on ethos. Cool. And uh let’s get into today’s second segment on the live show. I gotta be honest, folks. I don’t really know how this is even possible. And this is a video that when I was scripting it, I was getting angry as I went on and on. This is Dolphins Today. I am Nick Rolloloff. And before we move on, you want the Dolphins to beat the Chargers, subscribe to the channel. We’ll be live on Sunday, get the good vibes flowing. I know some Dolphins fans probably want to lose so we can get a better draft pick and Mike McDaniel and Chris get fired sooner, but I don’t really want to lose to Justin Herbert and the Chargers. So, I’ll still be rooting for a win. Subscribe if you’re with me and join me for more content every single day. But what we’re going to be talking about is the snap percentage of some of these defensive players and how embarrassing the run defense is for the Miami Dolphins. I tweeted it during the game yesterday against Carolina. I filmed this during my live show. I know this is going out Tuesday morning, but either way, it was embarrassing. It is the worst run defense in the NFL. It might be the worst run defense in NFL history. I guess time will only tell throughout the course of the 17g game season, but through the first five weeks of the year, the Dolphins either rank dead last or second to last in every single rush statistic. Rushing yards per game, they allow the most 174.2. Rushing yards per play, 5.6. Somehow the Chicago Bears are worse. They give up 6.1 yards per play on against the run. Don’t understand that. But EPA on a rush 32nd rushing yards per attempt or over attempt I should say rushing yards over expected per attempt 1.52 yards 31st and then this is the one that really gets me the most yards before contact before attempt it is 32nd it is dead last. Like what does that tell you? It means this defensive line is getting blown off of the line of scrimmage and these runners are not being touched until they’re almost already into the second level. Like I I I’m not kidding when I say this. Like you almost have to try to be this bad. Like you have to go into each snap in each game saying we are going to allow them to run the football this much. Like it’s embarrassing. Like I hate to use that word over and over again, but unless you guys have a different word they’d like me to use, I’m going to keep on using it. You let Rico effing Dowel run for 26 yards. The guy averaged 2.7 yards per carry from weeks one to week four this season. But then, oh, Dolphins on the schedule week five, 206, averaging 79 yards per carry. Like, look at this run chart by Rico Dao, man. He had 206 yards and 105 of them were overexpected, which I don’t know what’s worse. the fact that he was expected to get 101 yards, which would have still been about five yards per carry, or the fact that he had 105 yards over expected. And also, by the way, do you notice anything on this run chart? They were abusing the the left side of our defensive line. So, they ran behind their right guard, right tackle consistently, but it was running behind or to our left guard and le or excuse me, our lefty tackle and left edge rusher. Fun fact on who plays those positions, it’s Bradley Chub and it’s Kenneth Gray. Usually, they line up on the left side of the defense. if you’re looking at it from behind our defense, lining up on the right guard, right tackle, if you’re looking at it behind the Panthers offense. But when you watch the film, you watch the tape, there’s one thing that never lies, folks. It’s the film. Men lie, women lie. Film never lies. When you watch it, you see the same things over and over and over. Poor tackling. I mean, listen, I get it. This Dolphins defense sucks. You’re trying to make a game-changing play and force a fumble, but half of these guys on run plays are just standing on the side punching at the ball. They’re not even trying to tackle them. If everybody’s punching at the ball, who’s tackling? No one. Poor effort, poor tackling. The defensive linemen aren’t getting off blocks. Are they just not caring? Are they not giving effort? Kind of looks like that. Looks like a defeated group. Like Sealer’s not getting off blocks. Freaking these rookies aren’t getting off blocks. The veterans aren’t. And then you’ll see some players in the same gap. Like there is no technique. There is no common like occurrence. Like you are just seeing selfish football on the defensive line for Miami. And the selfish play of this defense in front seven is allowing each other to be gashed. They’re all playing for themselves right now. They’re not playing for the team. See with the tackling, the effort, and even some of the play designs defensively for Miami. Is it coaching or is it the players going off script? More likely than not, it’s actually the coaching when it comes to this third point that I’m trying to make. So, like Anthony Weaver, what are we doing, man? What are we doing? Can’t tell. I’m pretty fired up. How mad are you about the run defense in Miami right now? I It’s hard for me to fathom right now, dude. It really is. Scout 1 to 10 for me down in the comment section. I want to hear your thoughts, but I also want to share this quote Mike McDaniel had following the game against the Panthers about their own defense. And we shared a little excerpt of it on Monday morning, but I want to show the full thing here. He said schematically and from a technique perspective, we have to get guys playing on the same page. Goes to the exact point I just made. You don’t give up that many line of scrimmage yards unless you’re uncoordinated in certain ways that I need to make sure that guys don’t fray and try to handle it themselves. Exactly what I just said. We collectively need to build a wall. If play calls need to change for that to occur, then play calls need to change. It just can’t continue to go on like this. And it’s already gone on too long. So, we’ll get back to the drawing board. And listen, I said a lot of what Mike McDaniel said, and that was really me before even seeing his quote. Like, I obviously read the quote before we put it in the video, but like when you watch the film, that is your exact thought. So, Mike McDaniel is not wrong there. Like, he is correct in that assumption, in that assessment. But the point is you have a coach and Anthony Weaver who did really well last season. So like how can it go from that to this, right? Like the defense last year was top half. Like really it was top half in the NFL across the board. The only things they struggled in is takeaways and sacks. Everything else was money. So like how did it get so bad? Is it really the coaching or is it the players or is it the use of the players? Because the effort and the use of the personnel that I’ve been seeing has been borderline like incomprehensible, which I’m shocked I was able to say that word correctly. That was a good hand on the back on my end. Everyone clap up at home. But you look at the defensive line rotation in this game against Carolina. Zack Cer obviously is going to lead the way in snaps, but then you just see a cluster of four guys. Grant playing 30, Butler 29, Phillips 23, and Mino O Jones 20. And I’ll be honest, you could go back to last week when I made a video about major changes coming to the defense. I pined. I asked for more Matthew Butler snaps because he was one of the highest graded defensive players for the Dolphins through four weeks yet was only playing what about 10 15% of the snaps. So, I wanted to see that uptick that we saw this week where he was on the field for 29 of the 70 defensive plays. But the part that I wanted to focus on with those snap list, why is Jordan Phillips only playing 23 snaps, he has been your best run stopper on the defensive line? He is your best nose tackle. Why is he only playing 23 snaps when you couldn’t stop a nose bleed? You can’t keep on playing Kenneth Grant 30 plus snaps. Kenneth Grant has been getting 50% or more of the snaps. It’s been more. He’s been the second most played defensive lineman. I get it. It was your first round pick and you can’t bench him this early. But when he is the worst defensive lineman in football, you can’t do it. A and it goes back to our conversations about Jonah Savia as well. Your first round pick, Kenneth Grant, is the worst rated defensive lineman in the entire NFL. And your second round pick, Jonas Savinia, is the worstrated offensive guard in football. You absolutely swung and missed in the draft to this point. And it’s, by the way, a draft that Chris Greer needed to nail. Like the only way he saved his job is if he nailed the draft, nailed the cheap free agent signings. The Dolphins made the playoffs. And guess what he did? He whiffed on the draft picks to this point. He whiffed on the free agent signings. James Daniels in particular, Nick Westbrook has done nothing. Even though I thought he was going to provide a lot of nice things, he hasn’t done anything. and he is firmly on his way out of the Dolphins organization which you have to hope is sooner rather than later. Like I mentioned it a second ago, we need to see more of Jordan Phillips. Like if you want to mix in Matthew Butler more, which I advocated for, sure, let’s do it. But we can’t keep on playing Kenneth Grant and Matthew Butler more than Jordan Phillips. That should not be allowed. And it’s been interesting to watch Phillips’s snap count throughout the season. Week one, he played 33 out of 73 snaps. recent decent rotation especially with Bonito Jones being hurt. Bonito Jones misses two weeks of football week two and week three. He plays in 40 out of 60 and 30 out of 60. So plays in 67% of the snaps and 50% of the snaps and Phillips provides you with a couple nice things. But then for whatever reason over the last two weeks he has not played at all. Like look at his difference of the first three weeks to the last two weeks. In weeks one through three, he played 53.3% of the snaps. The last two weeks, 29.3%. Like, why on earth can you even try to justify his snap percentage decreasing by 24% based off what you have seen this season? You can’t explain it because Jordan Phillips actually has the second best stop percentage on the Dolphins this season against the run at 8.6%. Is it elite? No. But it’s second best on the team. And are the grades for him elite to where you’re like, “Holy crap, we have an elite nose tackle and defensive lineman on our hand.” No. But I’ll go back to this once again. He is better than what you have had. He has been better than Grant, better than Butler, better than Bonito Jones, better than Seer. How about you play your best run stopper? And that’s why I’m saying, how is this possible? The Dolphins have the worst run defense in the NFL and maybe in NFL history. and yet you failed to play your best run stopper on the interior defensive line. Like, are you dumb or are you stupid? Which one is it? I don’t get it. I’ll wait for the answer. But also they are playing Chop Robinson who was your best defender from weeks eight to week 18 last season as a rookie. They just simply aren’t playing Chop. You look at the edge snap percentage through five games of the season. And I know Chop got banged up at the end of week two, which may have limited his snap count on a short week in week three against Buffalo, but you cannot explain to me with a reasonable explanation on why he is just playing in 38.6% of the defensive snaps this season. Meanwhile, Jaylen Phillips and Bradley Chub are playing in 68 and 66% of the snaps. And the one that irks me the most is Bradley Chub. Jaylen Phillips has been your best edge rusher. He has the highest pressure rate and he knows how to set the edge in the run game. But why on earth is there a 28% stat% percent discrepancy between Bradley Chub and Shop Robinson? I have no other way to put it than the word shadowban. What did Chop Robinson do to Anthony Weaver and this coaching staff? Did he [ __ ] all their wives? Like seriously, is that what happened? Because him playing in 38% of the staffs is an absolute joke. That’s an absolute joke. How is that possible? Like you can make the argument last season, all right, Chop couldn’t stop the run. Couldn’t do it. Didn’t know how to set the edge as a rookie. didn’t want to play him unless it was an obvious pass down situation. Fine, cool, whatever. But he’s gonna learn by playing. And with this team having the worst run defense in football, well, there’s no way it could get worse if you play Chop Robinson, like Bradley Chub has not been good. Yeah, he has three sacks, but he has a low pressure rate. He’s one of the lowest graded players on the Dolphins defense because when you watch the film, it’s not good. Don’t let the three sack number tell you he’s been good because he has not been good. And he was gifted a fumble recovery this week by Bryce Young. Like, if we’re going to be honest right now, the Dolphins are sellers at the deadline. Tyreek Hill was probably your best possible trade asset. Fortunately, that knee injury means he was obviously not going to be traded. But I am trading both Jaylen Phillips and Bradley Chub at the NFL trade. If you can find a taker, which I gota be honest, I don’t know if there would be a taker for Bradley Chub, but you should. You should because you should border you’re going to cut him after this year. You should at least. And with Jaylen Phillips, he’s not under contract next year. Are you resigning him? How can you justify resigning him after this season, right? Like, so to me, why not trade him and recoup some draft picks, right? That feels like it is. Like, the numbers that we’ve showed on today’s show are hard to comprehend. You could start with the first part, which is just the run defense statistics. That’s hard to comprehend. But then you see this not percentage for the interior defensive line. Why owners of Jordan Phillips not playing? Why is Chop Robinson not playing? Like, I don’t get it. How is this possible? The only explanation is that the Dolphins coaching staff is filled with a bunch of morons who don’t know what the heck they’re doing. That’s the best way I could explain it or try to at least. All right, I’ll do it for this episode. Still not over it, man. Just pissed off, dude. Sick and tired of this garbage garbage product we’re seeing on the football field. Sick of it. Done. And if you want more honest takes and coverage of the Dolphin season 365 247, this is the channel for you. Join the family today. Shadowbann did I go too far by saying [ __ ] their wives? Um, I like it. I’m with you. You must have nudes of somebody. We’ll see, man. There’s I mean given just where the state of this team is, there’s just no reason for Chop Robinson to not be playing. You know what you have in Bradley Chop. Let Chop go out there and fail or succeed. Like it just simply can’t be worse than what you have already. So why not? Why not? I’m with you. Oh man. Don’t get it. Lime tree says that was solid American satire. I comment for that. Appreciate it, man. Arnold says, “You might be right.” We’ll see. your uh your comedic factor when you are angry about something is pretty solid. Is it good? Yeah. Well, I can only hope that in this horrific season, I could only provide people with some entertaining analysis of the team that sometimes may be funny. I don’t claim to be a funny guy, but I can I can drop some oneliners. You do hate incompetence more than anything on earth. And this Dolphins team is the definition of incompetent. Yeah. Assan Haskins and Kamani Vidal. That’s who they’re facing. That’s who the running backs are going to be. Rico Donald is better than most of them. Is he? Yeah, he is. I don’t know, man. It’s just in a bad spot, man. This team is just in a bad bad spot. I feel like it’s not something that can be fixed overnight either. Like McDaniel can say that we need to put them in the best positions to win. We need to call different plays. We need to do this. We need to do that. I feel like it’s just not something that can be fixed in the middle of the year. Maybe I’m wrong. Mike says he’s not holding Weaver more accountable. Listen, I I don’t think he’s been dealt a fair hand because this defensive roster is horrible, but I think I kept held him pretty accountable a second ago in that video. I just went on a fullon annoyance and 15minute rant and demolition of this defense because of how bad it is and how the usage of players have been. No doubt. And that is on Anthony Weaver and his position coaches. They decide who plays. Mike says Weaver should be on the poll. Weaver is not to blame for the state of his organization. To blame. If I was to add a fourth, it would be two attempt. What’ you say? If I was to add a fourth to that poll, it would be two. It’s a head coach, GM, and quarterback league, folks. Indeed, it is. You know what? I just hope that we in our next GM when we get to the draft early in the draft takes the best player available and not for me. You’re assuming they’re going to have a new general manager. Yes, we will. Like I I’m not going to kid you. If Chris Greer is still the GM going into like if he’s not fired in the first three days after the season, I might go to the bosses and wave the right. We’ll see you. Wave the red flag. I might do it. Like because if they’re going to show me that they don’t care about the product that they’re putting on the football field, why should you? Why? Why? Like what? How can I seriously come up here and really analyze this team and and give good content? I because if they don’t care, I’m not going to care. Like I I’m telling you, this is this is an important four months for Stephen Ross. He’s either going to lose like 30% if not more of the fan base for the rest of their lives, or he’s going to do the smart, simple, easy, correct decision of firing McDaniel and Chris Ger, whether it’s now or at the end of the season. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter? No. I just think they should do it now to get a head start in terms of evaluating everyone in their building outside of those two. But it has to happen now or at least in the next four months. Well, for whoever the new GM is, we have some ideas for him coming up. Yeah, I really mean that, too. Like, I’m I’m telling you, if they still have the same two guys in charge time next year, I I I don’t know if I’ll be You’re out. Yeah, I might retire from the content creation game. You would never think they would do that. They would kill you. Yeah, I think they could because I if I had to come talk about the Dolphins every day, two, twice a day, while Chris Greer and Michael McDaniel still employed, like I I couldn’t do it. If Stephen Ross cared about the fans, they’d be fired already. Correct. The slap in the face. the slap in the face to Dolphins fans every day that they’re still employed. I’m going to tweet that every day. Slap in the face that those two are still employed. Why not? But the only way that it’s saved is if they go nine and three in their last 13 or 12 games. That ain’t happen. Yeah. And Du Lipa is going to be in my bed tonight. Stop using my analogy. That wasn’t your analogy? Sure it is. Oh, absolutely not. I have been the number one duual liipa at that. You could choose. You could have chose any girl. You can’t choose my dua. Duual Lia is everyone’s girl. First of all, my girl. At least the chat sports is my girl. You’re outrageous. My girl. I’ve been on Duual Lia for years. I have been way before you. Disagree. Coup stole my joke earlier, so he’s stealing all my [ __ ] today. Rolley just gets it all to himself. Yeah. Yeah. You’re a broken man. I would love to start Dual Lia by chat sports. You talk about her music videos. She was in Dallas. Her her her Dual Lia news. Well, I would I would be I’d be crying real tears when are they engaged yet? Her engaged. Her and column are engaged. Maybe I’ll just have to take out Colin. I’ll dox him. All right, that’d be pretty funny. All jokes aside, let’s get into the final segment on today’s live show. For legal purposes, Roly is not going to doc’s column turn. Maybe. Wow, the my foot is killing me. I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe. We’ll see. We’ll see. Could always try to start running. Doesn’t work. All right, let’s get into the final segment on today’s live show. The Miami Dolphins 2025 season. Well, we know it’s over. The only way it’s not over is if they go nine and three in their last 12 to go 10 and seven, make the playoffs. But I got news for you. If you believe that’s going to happen, got some beachfront property in South Dakota to sell. Either way, as we go into week six, the Dolphins hold the fourth overall pick. And although the QB class is a little bit down, it is interesting. There are elite prospects at different positions and some positions of need for Miami. Now, I’ll say almost every single position is a need for the Miami Dolphins. I’m Nick Roll. This is Dolphins Today and we’ll look at some top 10 draft targets the Dolphins could tank for the rest of the season. And how about this? I’ll throw this out to you guys. I can do my first mock draft because I’ve been already doing some scouting because I’ve had to start to look ahead for the next season. If we get 500 likes on today’s video, I’ll drop a 2026 mockdraft next week. Hit that thumbs up icon if you want to see that content. Miami is probably going to finish inside the top 10, if not the top five of this year’s draft. Every position is on the table for the Dolphins besides two in my opinion. Wide receiver and running back. Although, yes, a wide receiver two is probably necessary to Jaylen Wadd going forward, it is just when you go down every position, it’s right there with RB is the last one. Like Achan and Ali Gordon is a great duo. So, that’s probably the last position you would need to draft inside the top 10. Plus, with where this roster is at, there’s no world where you should ever draft a running back in the top 10. And yes, Jordan Tyson from Arizona State is a dog, and I really like him as a prospect. There’s just no need for Miami to take him when you have Jaylen Wadd and some other players at the position. So, everything to me is on the table outside of running back and wide receiver. So, let’s look at some of these draft targets. And the number one guy I want to talk about is the safety from Ohio State, which is Caleb DS, younger brother of Josh DS, the wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. But I think without a question, he is the best player in college football. And I know safeties in the NFL have a less position of value when you compare it to offensive line, defensive line, quarterbacks, wide receivers, corners. Like, I get it. But if you’re the Miami Dolphins, with how this season is looking and where the state of the roster is, you need to just be drafting like the best players available to elevate your baseline. Caleb DS would elevate your baseline because he is that good. He started his career at Alabama, transferred to Ohio State, national champion last season, and he is ready to make a difference this season once again. and he has been awesome. Once again, he is a safety who can play both in the run and the pass, but he does specialize in the pass. 88.5 coverage grade this year. He can play in the slot. Hell, he can play on the boundary as a corner at times. Like, he is a Swiss Army knife. And I know it’s hard to justify taking a safety in the top three or five of the draft because of positional value, but if you’re the Dolphins, it has to be in consideration with how talented of a ball player this guy is. Someone that will be heavily in consideration is someone you have playing in your home stadium right now, Ruben Bane Jr., the Miami, the you that is defensive lineman. Most of you know this because you watch them every weekend in our Kane’s fans, but this guy has been nothing short of sensational. He has been arguably the best defensive player in the entire college football landscape. I’ll argue it’s probably still Caleb DS. Ruben Bane Jr. is right there as that number two guy though. And when you’re talking about just best complete prospects in the draft, I would put these guys one and one, two right now. Bane through five games, three and a half tackles for loss, two sacks, and he has forced two takeaways. He has an interception. He had it against Notre Dame in that season opener off of a deflection. He also has forced a fumble. This guy has been awesome. and he plays not just in the run game, but plays in the pass run game. And we know he’s at a pass rusher first, but his run numbers have been phenomenal. He is the highest graded defensive lineman on Pro Football Focus. 95.9 overall. That is so ridiculous. But 93 as a pass rusher, 92 in run defense. I mean, look at this. a pass rush render rate of 29.9%. His run stop rate is also in the top 10 percentiles at 10.9%. This guy is going to be a top five pick in the NFL draft. He is going to be in all likelihood the best defensive lineman, edge rusher, dtackle in this NFL draft. Miami has a defensive line issue and they do not have a future at edge other than Cha Robinson. Judon one year Jaylen Phillips free agent after this year. Chub should be traded not very good. Ruben Bane Jr. could be a building block on this Dolphins defense. We had a lot of prospects to get to, but I want to check in with you first. Who is your favorite prospect in the 2026 NFL draft? If you have already taken a look and like I have, let me know. Mine is either Caleb Downs or Ruben Bane Jr. if you’re just taking an objective viewpoint at each position. Let’s look at our first quarterback now. And I do want to make this clear, by the way. I did go in order of downs and Bane in terms of my top two guys, but the rest of the way is not in any particular order of where I would grade them as NFL draft prospects. did want to make that clear. But Lenor Sers, I did want to mention him here because he is my top quarterback as of right now. There’s a lot that can change. Tai Simpson from Alabama has looked great. Fernando Mendoza from Indian Indiana Indiana has looked great. We’ll talk about him in a little bit. But if I was picking a quarterback from this draft class and I had any choice, it would probably be Lenora Sers. This guy has a lot that he could bring to your organization. He could make any throw on the football field. He’s an athlete. He’s got tremendous size. He’s got great art and talent. It’s just all about if he can develop the right tendencies and right what is habits is the word I want to say in terms of his footwork, his technique and the way he processes the football field because he’s 6’3 6’4 225 240 built like Big Ben but can run a 44. like he is as dynamic as an athlete. You will find the quarterback position. He’s completed 66% of his passes this year. It’s been a interesting start to his campaign with the South Carolina Gamecocks. A lot of people expect them to be a darkhorse player potentially in the SEC and maybe in the college football playoffs. Really hasn’t been the case to this point for that team. But I think Cellar still playing well shows you that he is maybe elevating the talent that South Carolina has because they might not have as good as talent as they were thought to have. So if the Dolphins were picking a quarterback in the top five and they had a choice of any quarterback, I would choose Sellers over the likes of Mendoza, over the likes of Matier. Aller looks like he’s a stinky quarterback. Arch Manning is horrific. He’s not even gonna come out. We know that. Sellers would be my top guy. Two offensive linemen, including another Miami Hurricane, Spencer Fen from Utah and Francis Magoa from Miami. Both have been phenomenal for their respective teams this season. Maya Goa playing for the Hurricanes obviously 313 snaps but now 359 snaps. They grade out very similar. Both have been charted to allow two QB hurries. They are very similar in their overall grade, their pass blocking grade and their run blocking grade. Not a lot of separation between these two through the first five, six weeks of the college football season. These two and Kaden Proctor are the three top offensive tackles in college football right now when it comes to the NFL draft. And Miami could use obviously more offensive line help. And I know some of you are going to say, “Well, they have Austin Jackson for another year. They have Patrick Paul at offensive tackle. Um, they need guard help. They don’t need another tackle.” Austin Jackson can’t stay healthy. Can’t. And guess what? You can move him to guard because he’s played guard before and I know he has been at his best at right tackle, but I like what you had in Patrick Paul. I think he’s a building block at left tackle, but you need a right tackle. So, grabbing Spencer, grab his Francis potentially in the top five, top seven. I would put my hand up and say that’s a good move for the Dolphins if they all ultimately went that way to kind of hopefully cement the two outside pieces of that offensive line. More prospects to get to here, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Pix. You and I make decisions every single day. Well, the right decisions on prize pick can get you paid. Price fix has a bunch of new features that makes it even more enjoyable, which I didn’t think was absolutely possible. Join me and the millions of others on prize picks. Download the app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. We’re going to unveil a pair of corners here together that I think could each go in the first round and potentially in the top 10. And we know Miami certainly needs a corner. Jamal McCoy from Tennessee and Avon Terrell from Clemson. And yes, that is AJ Terrell’s younger brother who also went to Clemson. I mean, there’s no doubt about it. You you put the laundry list of needs on a piece of paper. A long-term CB1 I is at the top of the list. You can talk about a QB1. You could talk about offensive line, defensive line, but CB1 is in the top three or top four without a question. So, drafting one, if you’re end up if you end up picking like seven, eight or nine this year, which is possible, I could see Miami just saying, “Hey, we’ll take the best DB or offensive lineman available and leave it at that.” And maybe it’s one of McCoy or Terrell. And McCoy is a fascinating young player because he was the number one projected returning corner this season in college football was training in January doing sprints to his ACL. But the impressive thing is that he is actually returning to the football field this month. He might actually play this week against Arkansas. But our football insider at Tennessee, Joey Peterson, says that’s maybe a little unlikely. Nonetheless, it’s impressive that he’s going to return to the football field the same calendar year, but also just return in general. McCoy, who is a firstround projected pick, could easily just say, “I’m coming off a torn ACL. I’m going to rehab, train for the combine, and get right and then be a first round pick.” But no, he wants to return and help this Tennessee team potentially make the college football playoff and maybe make a run in the SEC. That speaks to the character that McCoy has as a player. Something that Miami certainly could use. Now, when you talk about Terrell in Clemson, I can’t speak to his character like I could potentially speak to with McCoy, but he has been phenomenal in coverage this season for that Clemson defense. a defense that has three first round picks by the way potentially in Terrell and then a couple defensive linemen like Peter Woods and there’s another edge rusher I’m spacing on the name but Terrell has allowed 58% completion percentage eight yards per catch five PBUS and a QB rating when targeted of 84.0 You know, Terrell has been phenomenal throughout his college career for Clemson and he also has that NFL CB1 blood in him with AJ Terrell. So, I would like to believe that he knows what it takes to be a quarterback one. He learns and gets to work out with his older brother on a consistent basis, which would only allow him to be an instant impact CB1 in the NFL. If the Dolphins ultimately drafted a corner in the NFL draft first round this upcoming year, I would bet it’s more likely than not it’s one of those two guys. Now, the corner from LSU, Delane, is very good as well, but I would put him in a tier behind Terrell and McCoy as of right now. Make sure you do subscribe because who else in early October is talking NFL draft targets potentially for the Miami Dolphins? Not many folks. Subscribe for free informative content on the daily here. Join the family at Dolphins. Today we’re going to go back to a quarterback here. That being Fernando Mendoza, the QB from Indiana. Started at Cal, played a couple years there, transferred to Indiana where he has just been flat out sensational in his first five games as a Hooer playing for Kirk Senetti. Signetti don’t give a [ __ ] 73% completion percentage, 1,200 yards, 18 total touchdowns to one interception. He’s got tremendous size. He’s 6’5. He’s mobile. He’s got a quick release. He’s got a strong arm. Now, that Indiana offense is a lot of RPOS’s, which does m concern you if he could run an NFL pro offense and drop back, read a defense process correctly, and make the right decisions. But when you just look at pure physical talent and traits, it’s hard not to like what you see with Fernando Fernando Mendoza. And I would certainly have him cemented as my QB2 right now. Now, if I’m not mistaken, Coupe, Indiana plays Oregon this week. That’s a massive game. We already saw Drew Aller play Oregon. He sucked. All is not even a first round pick right now for me after coming into the year potentially as the QB1 in this draft class. So, Mendoza has another test ahead of him. If he passes this test with flying colors, oh boy, you said at home, co on the road, too. Oh my. he goes out and Indiana wins that game and Mendoza balls out. Not only is he going to be the Heisman favorite in Runaway potentially, he might be catapulting himself into the number one pick conversation. Big weekend ahead for Fernando Mendoza. I briefly mentioned Kaden Proctor a little earlier in the video when mentioning the other offensive lineman in Miami and Utah. Proctctor is up there as well. This was a five-star recruit. Entered the transfer portal this year, was about to transfer away, but decided, you know what? I’m actually going to stick with Kayn Dbor in Alabama. He’s a massive human being, 67, 366. He’s an elite athlete as well, and he’s had a solid season. I wouldn’t say it’s has been as good as what we’ve seen from Francis and Spencer and Utah and Miami, but Proctor’s been good. Like you have to consider Proctor in that same tier. Like listen, you go back a year ago folks, we saw a ton of offensive linemen get drafted early. We saw Kelvin Banks from Texas get drafted inside the top 10 to the New Orleans Saints. We saw Will Campbell get drafted to um the New England Patriots, obviously. And what was the third offensive tackle that draft got drafted high? No. Coupe once again good for absolutely nothing. We saw Gray Zavil go obviously, but he was a guard to the Seahawks at like 18. I’m spacing on the third guy. I know there was a third guy and it’s going to drive me nuts. Oh, Arman Meu. I nailed it in the top 10 also to our New York Jets. Thanks, Coop, for nothing. The last player I’m going to mention is that other Clemson defensive lineman that I talked about, Peter Woods. He is more of an interior defensive lineman. He’s not more or less an edge rusher like Ruben Bane we talked about earlier. And I know you’re going to roll your eyes and say, “Would we really take an interior defensive lineman in the first round in back-to-back years?” Well, considering that your interior defensive line is the worst part about your defense right now, you haven’t been able to stop a nosebleleed in the run game and Kenneth Grant has looked like a bust. Yeah, everything’s on the table and Peter Woods would absolutely be someone potentially in that conversation if he holds his spot as the top interior defensive lineman in this NFL draft. Now, this season, I expected a little bit more from him. I really haven’t seen the disruptiveness that I would have thought I would have saw, especially with how the hype was around this Clemson defense. It has certainly been fine, but it hasn’t been as elite as I would have thought it would have been with having three first round potential picks on it. So, we’ll still see how Peter Woods plays the rest of the year. Definitely a name to keep an eye on, but those are 10 NFL draft prospects the Dolphins could be tanking for. Couple quarterbacks, Mendoza and Sellers, my top two and really the only two I would even consider maybe using a top 10 pick on right now. We’ll see if Tai Simpson can climb into that conversation. John Matir, Garrett Nusmeer kind of out on Drew Aller. Dante Moore from Oregon is also an intriguing name to keep an eye on as well. But if I had a top five pick right now, I would probably be going between three players. Assuming that a quarterback’s in there. Dolph’s picking four right now. Draft was tomorrow. I would either be going with Spencer Fowl, Francis Magoa, Ruben Bane, or Caleb DS. Be choosing between those four. Couldn’t confidently pick a quarterback right now. Still got to see more. But those four, two offensive linemen, a safety, and an edge. That’s where I’m going between. I know it’s early to say that, but that’s why you subscribe to the channel and follow me on Twitter because you’re going to get year round coverage of the Miami Dolphins. Social media, YouTube, hit that sub button, follow me on Twitter, and I’ll see you tomorrow with another video. Go Dolphins. All right. Now, let me ask you this. Yeah, go ahead. Hypothetical. If there was a Jeremiah Smith in this draft, would I take him? Would you take him? What pick do I have? Five. Yeah. If If But he wouldn’t be there at five. Three. No. No. Because I think Ruben Bane and Caleb DS are on par with him as an NFL draft prospect. And then when you have them at that same level, then I think the Dolphins should start taking BPA rather than for position. But if it’s a tie, and if it’s a tie, you go to the the knee. And I think those three would be in the same tier of prospects, same type of uh grade coming out. And I and I would go with I would probably, you know what, I kind of talked myself into Ruben Bane over Caleb Dallas. As of right now, Ruben Bane’s a really good edge rusher, man. could change, but like the way he sets the edge in the run game, the way he has his motor working, and with how bad this defensive front has been, it’s hard to argue maybe that’s the biggest position of Nate. And I know we’re kind of biased and it might be subconscious, but he is a Miami guy. No, that’s not subconscious for me because I’m not a Miami Hurricanes football fan. That doesn’t matter to me. Now you’re Well, does it matter to you in terms of the Dolphins drafting him? No, because they don’t care either. Okay. They don’t care either. So, yeah. All right. Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel, on the run defense:
“Schematically and from a technique perspective, we have to get guys playing on the same page…you don’t give up that many line of scrimmage yards unless you’re uncoordinated in certain ways that I need to make sure that guys don’t fray and try to handle it themselves. We collectively need to build a wall. If play calls need to change for that to occur, then play calls need to change. It just can’t continue to go on like this and it’s already gone on too long, so we’ll get back to the drawing board.”

  1. You ask how ? .. it’s because they are not listening to the cheap seats.. we are competitive and maybe playing for #1 Draft pick .. Tua has good plays when he’s on point with his throws then he has some like he’s delayed or behind..due to all the Concussions ? 🤔 but you can watch him when it’s going to be an good play or not.

  2. You guys saying "I didn't see it coming"… how did you not… this was clearly the absolute worst secondary in team history & the O-line was bottom 10 at best …

  3. I was six the last time miami went to the super bowl…. I'm 47 now! I've waited long enough, defended mediocrity too many times. McDaniel is in way over his head, not hc material, that 4th down call was ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE! He basically said screw it,I quit.
