This Pelicans Team Could Be A PROBLEM
The Pelicans are a really weird team because in the midst of a 21- win season, we saw some serious growth to Trey Murphy’s offensive game. And now he’ll be able to slot back into a role more fit for his skill set alongside Zion, who’s in the best shape of his career. Anytime Zion’s been on the court, he’s been one of the best interior scorers we’ve ever seen to the point where it takes all five defenders to guard him and he’s a good enough passer to find the openings. So, it’s really as simple as surrounding him with guys who can finish plays and you’re guaranteed a good offense. They’ve done exactly that. Eve Me is the ideal vertical spacer. Jordan Pool’s a highle shooter who can also handle the ball, create and unlock Zion’s softball game. And they’ve got a few young wings who fit the bill. With all of that said though, this is a remarkably weak defensive roster that’s one injury away from an offensive collapse. So, it’s still about the future. Cavan Looney mentoring Young Bigs.

Zion should have a great year, but the Pelicans are small. I don't see how they're gonna hold their own in that tough Western Conference.

Their defense is going to be awful. If Herb Jones gets hurt it could be historically bad. Nobody else can play defense on that team (Murphy is ok but he can’t make up for the rest in any real way).
