  10. Interesting that they kept Karlsson & Bains up and didn’t take a chance on waivers, congrats to them making the opening night roster regardless!

    And congrats to Cootes. Lets see how he does with the next ramp up of difficulty as the games become real. Hope they stick him with Kane & Lekkermaki.

  20. Saving Demko for Oilers, I like that.

    Also, I don’t have much of a complaint over the opening roster. Yes it would be nice to have Mancini, but it’s good to know he’s there if we need call ups. Having too many good D is a good problem to have. Cootes/Lekk have insane chemistry, it’s a good thing they’re letting them keep going with that. Knowing it’s almost time for hockey season again is such a good feeling.

    Cannot wait for Thursday.

  35. July 8, 2022…that fateful day when Allvin stepped up to the mic and announced that with the 80th overall pick, the Canucks were drafting another Elias Pettersson. Entire NHL thought he was trolling, that it was a meme pick, and tbh I chuckled too and thought it’d be a long shot that we’d ever see the two of them on ice at the same time. Well that kid just made the 2025 opening night roster, what a time to be alive!

  38. I’m not a goalie at all but Thatcher Demko in the butterfly moving post to post is one of the most satisfying goalie things ever to me. It just screams technically proficient and sound. Again, clueless non-goalie guy here.
