2026 Arbitration Projections

  1. Would be nice to buy out some of these years in contract extensions. Paredes and Pena come to mind as being position player candidates, as does Hunter obviously before his price skyrockets

I also wouldn’t mind just a cheap Dubon extension. A slightly below league average bat that plays basically every position competently is a rare thing, even if we have seen way too much of him in the past 3 years

  2. Chas is a non tender. They aren’t going to pay a minor league guy $3.4M

Jesus is going to get lowballed. He had an awful finish to the year.

Urias is a potential non tender candidate. They might want to consider giving Brice those ABs.

Dubon is an interesting one. He could easily get moved to save cash.

    Everything else seems fair.

  3. Non-tender Garcia, Chas, possibly Sanchez if we find a better lefty bat in the offseason.

  4. Garcia, Urias and Chas seem like non-tender candidates. That would save $10 million per these projections.

Sanchez is a more interesting case. Would be worth seeing if he could be shipped out via trade to a team looking for a lefty OF. May have some value even though he was bad for us in the second half.

Interesting to see what happens with Dubon. He’s the utility player galore, and if you ship out Urias + non tender some of OF depth, he may be kept around.

  5. Chas & Luis being non-tendered is essentially a foregone conclusion. Taylor Trammell will likely be out the door as well. I don’t see anyone else being non-tendered, but there’s others up for discussion: Jesus Sanchez, Enyel De Los Santos, Ramon Urias, Dubon potentially, etc. They’ll likely explore a trade for Chas before he gets non-tendered, so they can try to recoup some value.

  6. I’d imagine LG (sadly), Chas, and potentially Trammell get non-tendered

then maybe put Sanchez, EDLS, and one of Urias or Dubon on the trade block, see what you can get for them. All that gets a projected $19.5-$20.9 million off the books
