  1. On the bright side, Jesse Rogers said that the Cubs were never planning to resign Tucker after this season

  2. Everybody on the team today not named Nico Hoerner, Seiya Suzuki, or Justin Turner:

    0-for-22 with 11 strikeouts

    Unacceptable. Back to Wrigley.

  3. I remember the pitch before the 1st single being a hard foul ball. Next pitch? Inside, hitter slaps it to left for a hit. Then of course he kept throwing inside pitches and it became predictable for Brewers hitters.

Shota was on normal rest tonight. No excuse for him. He was given a 3-0 lead and blew it. He and Palencia failed the team.

  4. This team does know they are allowed to score more than 3 runs in a playoff game, right?

  5. Craig started the wrong guy

    Cubs offense is broken

    Pete is a mess

    Jed extension was dumb

Tom doesn’t care about the fans and won’t spend money

  6. This season is ending the way it’s felt for most of the second half.

Brewers absolutely looking like a WS team. This would be quite the bed shitting if they can’t put this cubs team away.

  7. well now i’m even more sad. i don’t want to give up on this team but i think we’re cooked

  8. Finally homered with guys on base only to still end up with only 3 runs total lmao. And get out homered by the “small ball” opponent while we’re at it. This fucking team

  9. Let’s see what happens at home but the vibes are not great to say the least lol. Until we lose on our home field it ain’t over!

  10. The cubs love getting swept out of the playoffs it’s their preferred method of losing since 2003…. The tickets I bought for Thursday will likely be refunded to me🤦🏼‍♂️

  11. I’ve just never seen an offense this fucking bad – team has been this bad since the fucking all star break!

  12. No, no, it’s my fault for getting my hopes up.

Come back Wednesday, come back Thursday and send ’em packing on Saturday

  13. in 5 post season games, they’ve either scored 0 or 3 runs

3 runs ain’t gonna get it done against the brewers, and honestly, it’s probably better they lose now, because it sure as hell won’t be enough for the NLCS

  14. Winning the next 3 seems highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened before. I’m not giving up on the boys, but it’s pretty bleak for their chances rn.

Losing in the DS is not what I had chalked up at the All-Star break.

  15. I signed up for a 21 day free trial of YouTube TV for this playoff run. At least I won’t forget to cancel my renewal.

  16. Prediction: Cubs squeeze out two close wins at Wrigley just to come back to Milwaukee and lose in the same fashion as games 1/2.

  17. I love Imanaga, but that bottom of the first home run killed any momentum we had. The Brewers had their guys come through, even those injured or young, so hats off to them. Series isn’t over yet, but the Cubs need to do some serious soul searching on the off day.

  18. Matt Shaw and Ian Happ are a combined 2/28 with 15 strikeouts, Kyle Tucker is just 3/17, and Dansby Swanson is 3/17 with 11 strikeouts this postseason. The usual suspects.

  19. They completely gave up after the Palencia homer. 15 straight outs? This team has no grit. Also no pitching.

  20. Ugh, this year.

It’s tough because I feel like all the joy was front loaded. First half of the season was amazing, so much fucking fun. And then so many things went wrong. Pete going from hero to zero. Ditto Boyd and Imanaga. Ditto Seiya (until the last week). Horton hurt. Tucker not being the same after his injury.

Its actually crazy to me that we made it as far as we did. It’s like the baseball God started paying attention during the all star break and was like “Hah absolutely the fuck not.”

If the good moments had lasted all season, and been more spread out, I feel like I’d be less bitter about this year. But it just went from joy to despair so fast, and I lowkey hate it more than seasons where we just don’t make the playoffs at all.

  21. Did anyone look in that dugout today. It was just the walking dead. These guys don’t seem to even care.

  22. I’m beginning to move off the pitching and towards “where the fuck is our offense?!”

  23. Here’s what I think the Cubs need to do the rest of the series:

    1. Unhook the car battery from my testicles
    2. Pull the knives out of my heart
    3. Win on Wednesday

If they do these 3 things I’ll feel a lot better

  24. I don’t want to sound all defeatist here, but looking ahead to the offseason, it might do PCA some good to sit down with a shrink or someone to get his anger in check. The 2nd half of the season for him has been nothing but thrown helmets and bats. I’m not saying that is the main reason for his mega slump, but it isn’t doing him any favors.

  25. The reclamation project of Kyle Tucker HAS to be over if you’re serious about continuing your season at this point. Sit that fucking bum already

  26. The Brewers officially stole that Cardinals juju. They look like a complete team.

We can come back, but it’s gonna be a long road.

  27. Either show up Wednesday and play your best damn game of the season, or get off the team. If you can’t hit then bust your ass on defense or if by a miracle you get on, by great base running.

For example, Dansby has little to no reliability as a consistent hitter, but he’s one of the few reasons we even have another home game.

Pitching is trying, they just aren’t good enough. And that’s on the front office for not doing enough.

  28. 4th consecutive in-person playoff loss for me. Going Wednesday as well. Exciting at first but then really sad most of the game.
