I am not going back on my post. If the Patriots continue to play the way they did they can be a Top 5 team in the AFC. Be honest with yourselves who scares you at this point other then ourselves? Colts? Jags?
Word
Amazing to think that 1 year and 1 day ago we lost an absolutely horrible game to the Tyler Huntley led dolphins 10-15 which ultimately led to maye getting the starting job. Things can turn so quickly!
Any word on a RB3 yet? Hasty still around?
I don’t have the rose colored glasses on for this team yet. There’s still a handful of really egregious things wrong with this team that I think over a sample size of games we’d inevitably get exposed for.
1. **No longer Bend don’t Break.** Our Red Zone D is 30th in the league in allowing touchdowns. 75% of the time a team is there its a TD
2. **Penalties Abound:** 1st half against the Bills was great but completely reverted in the 2nd half. We’re still incurring penalties all over the place with no discernible patterns. Every week it’s a different set of players/ penalties but no doubt we rack them up
3. **LB Pass Coverage** is soft as hell. Since Week 1 our LBs have constantly been outmatched in covering RBs and TEs. We get gashed in the middle of the field or teams making high percentage throws in the flat. We have no depth there and the skill ceiling of our LBs is very low
4. **D is boom or bust on Gonzo**. Every team is “one injury away” from unraveling, but it’s concerning how night and day our Defense is without Gonzo. It affects literally every single play. The entire scheme changed when he came back, we were forced almost entirely into zone D when the season started, and it wasn’t until he came back that we were competitive
5. **Fumbling and RB Depth** nothing to say we don’t already know here. To have this problem this early in the season doesnt bode well for when playoff teams need it down the stretch
Lots of promising things though! This isn’t to say we’re bad, I could easily make a list of 5 amazing things we’re doing. I just look at these particular 5 negatives and see how easily things can turn on a whim
I just looked at our schedule and the next 3 weeks are 1-4 teams. We have 8 remaining games against teams 1-4 or worse
This is the year Maye makes the playoffs
Soooooooo what other team outside of us is going to walk into Buffalo during the playoffs and beat them? Cause the afc is hilariously weak man.
