š„Chicago Bulls HOT TAKES For The 2025-26 NBA Season š„
[Music] What’s going on everybody? You are watching the Bulls Report by Chat Sports. My name is Patrick Seman and with the NBA season just around the corner, I want to go through five hot takes I have for the Bulls heading into this season as a lot of question marks on some trade rumors around a couple of these key guys. Can Modus Boaz break out and have that year two jump? We’ll break it all down on today’s show. But before we dive into it, if you guys could help us reach 13,000 subscribers, we’re actually only 89 subs away. So, if you guys want more Bulls content, if you guys want more Bulls YouTube videos and just more Bulls stuff on your timeline, hit that subscribe button today. We just need 80 more uh 89 more of you guys hit that subscribe button. So, hit that sub button today if you guys have not already. All right, so my first hot take and you know I’m going to be positive here to start off and it’s going to be Modest Busellis and I truly believe he is going to take a massive leap and you know I think Bzelis he was great during his rookie year. He showed a lot of promise. He showed a lot of flashes. We saw that athleticism on full display and my favorite part of Bzellis last year is we saw him get better monthto monthth game to game and especially at the last couple of weeks of the season we saw Bzelis playing some of his best basketball and I couldn’t be higher on Bzelis. I love everything about this kid. I love his work ethic. I love his game. I love his intensity. Like a lot of these guys from Bulls training camp already are coming out saying, “Yeah, Modest is talking a lot of smack. You can feel his competitive fire every single time he steps out there on the basketball floor.” Which I think is huge because considering we just saw a guy like Patrick Williams who didn’t really have that competitive fire, very similar archetype of Modis Bisellis. And obviously he hasn’t worked out, you know, as much as we would have liked. But also Bisellis like he checks every box. Like he’s a freak athlete. He’s got a great work ethic. He’s got pretty damn good handle as well. And I can just see him developing year after year after year where it’s like, hey, this off seasonason we’re going to work on this one thing, translate it to the regular season. All right, get back in the lab the following off seasonason and it’ll translate it to, you know, that next upcoming regular season. But I couldn’t be hiring Buzzel. Now, I don’t know what type of year 2 leap I’m talking about where it’s like, can Buzzel potentially be an all-star this year? I still think that’s a little rich, but I could see him being maybe a 195 and5 guy with giving just elite defensive play every single game. And you know, I do have a couple of comparisons like ceiling ceiling comparisons. Best case scenario for Bzelis. And I think defensively he could be Evan Mobley like a very long athletic guy who can, you know, I don’t know if he’ll be able to guard fours as well as Mobly does, but he’s got the size of Mobly. He just needs to put more weight on his frame. And if you see Moby right now, like this dude’s absolutely cut up. I can assume Buzzales will eventually get to his point where his body looks somewhat like Evan Mobley. So I see him defensively in him. But then also offensively, he reminds me of France Vagner a whole lot where it’s like that big forward. He’s got good handle. He’s just got like a great natural feel when he’s attacking the paint. He can get guys on his hips, use his size, use his athletic ability to get to the cup. So I see France Vagner offensively and Evan Moy defensively. And my second hot take here is the Bulls are going to trade Kobe or Iowa mid-season. I am pretty pretty confident in that. And I don’t even really think this is a hot take here. I’m assuming most Bulls fans, you know, think the same thing. And, you know, if I had to pick one between Kobe or IO, I’m obviously taking IO. But it comes down to this. Like, the Bulls aren’t going to pay both these guys this off seasonason. Like, one of them will be out the door. And I would choose IO Dumu over Kobe White because Josh Giddy is clearly the point guard of the future for this team. And are you going to have two offensive-minded guards? Like, that just doesn’t work. Like we saw in the NBA playoffs this past year, if you can’t guard, you will get played off the court. And with the Bulls having two guys defensively who really struggle and Giddy and Kobe White, he’s had a long-term plan for success. I really doubt it. I would love IO though next to Josh Giddy. I was great in transition. He’s a great point of attack defender and I think he’s just a good connecting piece offensively. We’re also if I at that two spot that means guys like Buzzelis are getting more touches like a Senate, Patrick Williams, which I think they should get more touches than Kobe White. Even though Kobe is a better offensive player right now, but I just think Kobe overall out there on the basketball court, like how much of a positive is he since he is so bad defensively, like and even Kobe in the playin tournament last year, past two seasons, frankly, against Miami Heat. He has been the biggest reason why the Bulls lost those games. Like don’t forget Kobe was five of 20 with seven turnovers in the playing game against Miami Heat. He had that one good playing game against the Atlanta Hawks, but the two after he has really struggled. So, I’m keeping an eye on Dumu here, but you guys let me know. Give me a zero for Kobe White or give me an 11 for IO. I think this is pretty easy for me. I just like IO what he does defensively. And I think we’re seeing a shift in the NBA where it’s like if you can’t guard, you can’t play. And Kobe can’t guard, Josh Giddy can’t guard. So, you’re going to have two guys in your back court who can’t defend whatsoever. That’s why I’m keeping an eye over Kobe. We’re going to get more positivity here. And Josh Giddy, I think Giddy’s going to be a borderline all-star this season. and I don’t think he’ll eventually crack that Eastern Conference guard rotation for uh the All-Star game, but I think he’s going to put up some great numbers. And if the Bulls are somehow a feisty team sitting around 500 and maybe Giddy goes out there and he’s averaging like 1999 potentially, like yeah, he can make a solid case to be an all-star this year. Also, considering Damen Lord’s out of the conference, Tyresese Halbert and Torren Achilles, like there are some open spots for some guards to go and take that spot in the All-Star game, but I still think him making it would be a little rich. But hey man, if he replicates what he did post allstar break, he’ll 100% be an all-star. If he goes out there and averages 21, 10, and 10 damn near for the first half of the season, that All-Star game will come around. And Giddy might damn near be a starter if he puts up those numbers, shooting 45% from three. So I think he, you know, should put up good numbers this year. I’m just also not too sure with, you know, Josh Giddy if he would ever make the All-Star team. Let’s just say the Bulls are bad this season. Like I could see the Bulls more likely than not, they don’t have an all-star in the Eastern Conference, but we’ll see. Even more positivity. uh probably the most positivity with this fourth one. I’m going to go Patrick Williams gives Bulls fans hope and I’m not saying he’s going to take a massive jump where, you know, we’re talking about him potentially being allstar this year. No, no, no. I’m talking about him just being a solid role player in the NBA. And you know, I am a fan of Patrick Williams. Like, I like his personality. I like who he is. Now, is he too passive out there on the basketball court? 110%. But what if Patrick Williams is just a late bloomer? What if this is just going to take some time to get his legs under himself, you know, get more accustomed to the NBA style? Because Clue, this guy, I mean, you can see him up on screen right now. Like, this guy’s an athletic freak. He’s 6’10, super long wingspan. He can knock down the three-point ball at a decent enough level. And if he could just be a solid 3 and D guy, I think he could live up to that $18 million per year contract, but he’s got to be better than what he has. And the most concerning part about Pub is just we haven’t seen, you know, jumps year-toear. He’s honestly gotten worse, like especially from his 2023 season to 2024 year. Definitely does not look as good as he did during that setting, but also injuries have played a big factor since 2020 uh two where he played all 82 games. So, he’s been in and out of the lineup. But I think Patrick Williams, when we’re talking about him this time next season, I think we’re saying, all right, Patrick Williams at least showed us something this year where we could at least be somewhat positive around him because there really is no positive. I mean, he was the fourth overall pick, probably one of the bigger bust in NBA history, but I’m just hoping he gives us some hope because that fiveyear $90 million contract, I mean, that could be one of the worst contracts in NBA if he doesn’t show us anything. And my last hot take, Bulls don’t trade Nicole Buch. We have been talking about trading Vir. And I thought they should have traded him two and a half years ago. He is just not a positive out there on the basketball court. I think he’s got a terrible attitude. I think he’s bad in the locker room. He’s obviously a huge net negative out there, you know, defensively. Like, he’s one of the worst defensive bigs in the league. And that’s why nobody wants Vu except for the Bulls. Like, should that should that not be a red flag for the front office or am I tripping here? Like, that this guy averages 18 and 10, but then you try to trade him every deadline and nobody’s even willing to give up a second round pick for him. Like, that should tell the Bulls front office, hey, maybe this guy’s not that good, but we only got one more year of Uch. When this dude leaves in free agency, I will pop a bottle of champagne here on the channel because we will finally have a new center for this Bulls basketball team. And I swear to God, if they try to bring him back, I’m done. Like, I would actually be done being a Bulls fan. If they give him an extension this off seasonason, I am done. I’m moving a different direction. I’m going to go find a new basketball team because I just couldn’t do it anymore. But maybe you guys disagree with me. Maybe you think Buch gets dealt at the deadline. What do you think? Will the Bulls trade Nico Buchvich? Give me a T for trade. Give me a P for pass. Vuc will decline this year and not return to form
Leave trash p will out your mouth he still trash š š š š
It dont take 5 years for a player to be good get of trash p will nuts
All u do is talk bad about vuc u dont no the man personally
Find a new basketball team dude please
P Willy gotta go! That contract is to crazy
Keep 11, no question. Ayo is just a better value and they need a lower usage player. The only 30+ mil per year contract on this team is reserved for Matas.
My Hot Takeā¦Bulls lead the league in giving up āin the paint pointsā.
Until the bulls address interior defense with a legit Rim Protector theyāre doomed to be a play-in team if not less. Doesnāt matter how physical they play (which I believe will turn out to be just an increase in personal fouls) if they canāt protect the paintā¦not gonna be pretty.
Sieps I know you're trying to be optimistic but STOP saying p Williams will be anything. He is what he is after 5 yrs. For the love of God turn the page on him. We all accepted it already
Disagree with Pwill, he's gotta be way better
