yeah he made the push into the OL that caused Trevor to fall, but man all he had to do was jog 5 yards to the right to make a massive play.
but there was also a defensive holding penalty on this play so it’s actually better they scored here instead of having a fresh set of downs on the 1.
Pretty shameful. IDK what more you can say. Isn’t he a team captain? SMH. Crazy.
I haven’t been a fan of him since that bullshit holdout. He’s overpaid, over emotional, and not even remotely as effective as he once was. I cannot wait to get rid of him and his contract
He made a business decision.
One of the highest paid players on our team taking the most important play of the game off. Thats two games now where 95 has his head up his ass with the game on the line.
Makes me sick to my stomach how much money we’ve invested in this defense (and throw in our dumbass POS kicker too bc he happens to be the highest paid kicker in the league) and we’ve seen some of the worst football from these supposed “leaders”.
Disgusting
drue put more heart into that minsky’s pizza commercial
It’s cuz he was talkin shit on the sideline with the tablet. Same thing with Kelce “I’m sick of this shit” into a tip pick later during the Eagles game. The football gods judge thee and render justice
I think it is possible he was told to watch for a scramble up the middle which beat the Chiefs a few times last night. But it’s also true that once you see someone darting for the sideline or down the ground, you might try to react to that instead like everyone else.
There was a penalty on the play anyways
Could he have made the play? Yea maybe. Remember this is the end of the game, both sides are straight gassed.
I see his line of thinking though:
Hit the line a little, back off waiting for a possible scramble.
OH he fell down, my guys got this.
Shit he’s up. Start to run, but Oh whew, we got em…
SHIT THEY MISSED. TOO LATE!
I get Reddit being what it is… but I’m not turning on this team or players. What we’ve done over the past few years has been special and I appreciate every moment of it.
I could really see him thinking that the play was dead because Trevor was on the ground, but I mean damn dude, they teach you from elementary school football to play until the whistle.
He made the push of the OLine that caused TLaw to fall. Then I’m assuming he was gassed and thought the play was dead. Idk, this doesn’t seem to be that bad considering where he was in the middle of the scrum. There are 10 other dudes on the field too
Edit: This video is also at a dogshit angle to see the lateral movement of Trevor. He was gone for Chris by the time CJ noticed Trevor wasn’t down
He’s been quitting on this team since he sat out for his contract. There are plenty of guys who want to play for something bigger than themselves in this league, and we could get a great deal for Jones. This isn’t some one-off example of him slacking, it’s damn near every series.
When they showed him 2 or 3 times last night on the sidelines, he looked like he really didn’t want to be there.
I wonder what his problem is?
I really want to see Ashton Gillotte more.
I just hear Mickeys voice from Rocky. “You’re a Bum”
I hate to see this but it’s just clear that he’s not the same Chris Jones. His mind isn’t in it. Not sure if it’s because he’s dealing with some stuff or he’s frustrated or checked out. Whatever it is I hope for the best for him, he’s given us a lot. I also want it fixed one way or another.
It’s really weird how every game we play is either directly won or directly lost by Chris Jones.
Another thread of casuals disrespecting CJ?
Honestly seemed like he was confused at what was happening. He probably could not see Trevor fell and was wondering who had the ball or where it was or he saw someone on the ground and thought the play was over.
People are putting way more focus on this than necessary. First off, we got defensive holding so we weren’t benefitting from anything here regardless. Second, it’s entirely possible the Chiefs weren’t trying hard to stop them so they could have more time to get the ball back.
I get it, Jones makes a lot of money so he can be held accountable when he doesn’t give the effort he should. But he does not deserve the vitriol this thread is giving him, after all he’s done for our franchise I’d expect better from our fans.
This website is so funny man. I’m not going to argue that Chris Jones doesn’t take plays off, he absolutely does. But finding a video from an angle farther off from the line of scrimmage than the broadcast to make this point is just clear cut confirmation bias.
When Chris doesn’t beat a double team he will sit in front of the pocket and try to bat passes. If you want to blame someone, blame the two defenders that had their hands on Lawrence and failed to make a tackle.
So I must be the only one who can see T Law was taking off from the left hash and Jones is standing left to the middle of the hash. Are you people so fucking blind and ignorant that you can not comprehend that there is no chance in hell for him to make a play here? And this was literally first and goal to go. Yes we lost, yes it sucks but can we not have a modicum of love for our guys

Damn, that’s even worse than I thought. Dude is definitely not locked in rn.
I’ll give him some grace as someone who may still be grieving the loss of a family member. That said, man, that’s bad. You gotta play hard through the whistle.
This team is talented, but it’s getting too late in the season for these types of errors. We gotta lock this stuff up if we want to make the playoffs.
If I was him I’d delete my twitter.
