The Sixers Need To Make This TRADE… #76ers #Sixers #NBA

The Sixers need more help at the primary guard position. They need a facilitator. And I’m not saying Maxi can’t be that guy, but even when Maxi peaked out in 2023, so far in his 5-year career, he was averaging 6.2 assists. Is that enough from your lead guard? I don’t think so. They need a guy who can mainly be a facilitator. And if I look at the Sixers roster right now, you know who that guy is? It’s actually Kyle Lowry, who’s 40 million years old. And I think that’s going to give more excuse for Nick Nurse to play Kyle Lowry. I’m serious. the 40-year-old NBA prime analyst. It’s unfortunate with how this roster has been built right now. They have a ton of guards, but who’s going to take that lead? You have to let these guards complement each other. And I think the solution is to go out and trade for a pass first point guard. That’s what they have to do. They need a guy who can set up offense, who can get guys in their spots, who just has that knack for it. Maybe Paul George can add a level of playmaking. Maybe Joel Embiid can. But the Sixers are set up in a way to dominate from the inside out. And I think that’s very important. But the Sixers need to add more playmaking.

The Sixers have a big need… and there is one easy fix. Should the Sixers make this trade? #Sixers #76ers #joelembiid #paulgeorge #tyresemaxey #jaredmccain #quentingrimes #vjedgecombe #nicknurse #NBA #76ersnews #SixersNews #nbanews #nbashorts #youtubeshorts #shorts #nbatrade

  1. Shai averages about 6.5 assists, not a past first lead guard. Steph’s career avg is about 6 assists per. Tony Parker, great all-around guard, playoff performer, point guard for a dynasty, not the scorer Shai or Steph is, averaged under 6 assists per for his career. The Sixers are chock full of talented guards. One can be an adequate facilitator. You don’t need Magic or CP3 or Steve Nash to win. Stop.

  2. McCain can be the primary facilitator he’s a really good passer, plays with good pace and under control and usually makes the right basketball plays. I would start McCain and Maxey with PG at the 3 and stagger PG or McCain with VJ and Grimes on the 2nd unit. I want one of McCain, PG or Maxey on the floor at all times sprinkling in some VJ and Grimes as facilitators. I think whoever’s guarded by the opponent’s worse defensive perimeter player should be the primary playmaker on any given night. Most teams don’t have 2 guards that can score 20-25 a night we have 3 or 4 depending on how VJ comes along. Nurse has to be able to utilize that advantage every night in a guard and wing centric shooters league. Its no such thing as a pass first point guard anymore all of the good guards score and facilitate.

  3. As things stood going into this season, Jared going down did away with the primary guard we had to man that position. With the exception of Kyle, McCain was the best combo guard for that position. But going into the draft, i believed we were more in need of Tyrese Proctor than V.J. I never thought Grimes wouldn't be a Sixer this season. We've needed a real point guard since Ben quit on us. I was sure Morey wouldn't see things that way,;; of course.
Our most dynamic starting five would be McCain, Grimes, George, Bona, and Embiid. Doubt we'll ever see it though.
