Mariners vs. Tigers ALDS Game 3 Highlights (10/7/25) | MLB Highlights

What a great shot. This is the drone just outside of Comerica Park in Detroit as we get set for game three of this American League division series. All these fans are taking this path all the way inside this venerable stadium. It’s been around for a quarter century. In fact, the first time that a game was played in the regular season at Comerica Park. It was between our two combatants today, the Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners. We’re waiting for this game. All these Tigers fans are waiting for this game. These Tiger fans have been waiting a long time to finally see their team play home baseball. What was it? September the 21st, the last time they were haunted skies are clearing. The rain has moved on and finally these fans are getting ready to welcome their Tigers back home for playoff baseball. It’s been a minute since the Tigers were last here at home and the great Miguel Cabrera throughout the first pitch tonight, the Tigers legend in the future Hall of Famer, it’s well done right there. You can’t bounce it. Jack Flaherty lives for these moments. He says he’s, he’s loved the pressure that comes in a big game scenario, of course, pitched in the World Series last year, made five playoff starts for the los Angeles Dodgers after he had been traded from Detroit. You know, Jack, well, way, give me a sense of what we should see tonight. Jack is one of the ultimate competitors, ultra prepared. He’s been working for this, he glips for this kind of stuff. Randy Rosa steps in to lay things off. Two strike, offering back to Flaherty off of his glove bounces to the second baseman torres AJ Hinch has a hand up from the Detroit Tiger dugout and we’ll see if there is any thought of a challenge here and he is indeed going to ask for it right out of the gate. He might have a pretty good shot at winning this one on the first batter of the game. He looked at a person, I think right here on this replay. I think he just barely gets him. That’s about as close as you’re gonna get. After Hugh mccall, the field is overturned. The runner keeps Ros Arena off the base paths for Cal Raley who comes to the plate with the bases empty. First pitch. Swinging Raley sends it out to right. Carpenter has it for the second half, four pitches, four swings so far for the Mariners and now here’s julio Rodriguez. Did he go and a 123 1st for Jack Flaherty. Great start crowd on its feet. One of the top strikeout pitchers in baseball this year. Logan Gilbert, his second career postseason start. The other was game one of the A L DS against Houston three years ago. You’re gonna see great stuff high octane fastballs and the best pitch in all baseball. Logan Gilbert split breaking ball lined on one hop to second. That’s a second great pick by Polanco we’ve seen in this set and he throws out Carpenter for the first out. Brings up Glaber torres 1 to 1 pitch line drive to center field Torre hit to get. He’s now seven for 17 in his career against Logan Gilbert. So man aboard for Colt Keith first pitch swinging one bounce. Polanco spins the throw to second for one. Crawford will not have the relay. They get the lead runner in torres Keith on the fielder’s choice is save and they are two down. Here’s Riley Green career high. 36 homers this year 111 driven in and doubles up on it for strike three, Flaherty and Gilbert with nine pitch first innings ending with a strikeout each. Polanco, one of Seattle’s heroes in game two with two solo blasts off the presumable Cy Young award winner, tarik S another 2 to 2 pitch. There’s the breaking ball for strike three back to back from Flaherty and there’s one away in the second. Josh Naylor climbs in. There was some question about Josh’s availability for perhaps even the rest of this series as he and his wife Chantelle were expecting the birth of their first child out in Arizona. Naylor did not travel with the team to Detroit. He traveled separately but everything went well reaches out past flaherty towards the second baseman torres tough play, but he makes it to dig it out and the battle finally ends going Detroit’s way change up. Yeah, that’s what we said. Something slow down and away from him. Great play right here. Second baseman is showing up today a nice at bat by Suarez. He draws the walk and the Mariners have their first baserunner tonight. It’s a two out walk to Eugenio Suarez and here’s Dom Canzone and a 22 from Flaherty gets away to get a breaking ball. Third strikeout for Jack Flaherty. All swinging ends the second, lots of long at bats, the last three batters and right away, two down four Detroit here in the bottom of the second. So, yeah, you want to keep your pitch count down low, get the infielders in the ball game right away. Your outfielders get deep in this game as much as you can. Even though in the playoffs, you’re going to see the bullpen sometimes a little earlier than normal. Breaking ball is the shortstop in left field and it’s a two out single for Dylan his second hit of the postseason. Here’s Parker Meadows and Dangler takes off 32 to Meadow swing and a Miss strike three So Logie Gilbert strikes out Parker Meadows on a fastball and that will retire the side. JP. And Then Randy Rosa have had just one baserunner so far a walk searching for their first hit of the ball game, breaking ball down the line. Mckinstry gave it a great effort to try to lean in and make the play. But this is going to be extra base for Victor Robles and he’s looking for a triple, although he’s going to put on the brakes. This is a great triples ballpark. Robles will test the fate and he’ll take two instead to start. The third JB will stand in corners playing in. Even with the bag, you cannot have an unproductive at bat for JP Crawford muscles. One to left center field that’s going to get down. Robles got a little bit of a late start trying to make sure that that ball hit the deck. Now it gets through the legs of DG. Here comes Robles on his way home, not in time. He’s safe and it’s 1 to 0. Seattle Crawford moves up to second base. Why Riley Green throws this ball and Then mckinsey just lets it go and Then Dingler botches it all around the Tigers. There’s no other way to put it. Why Mint let that ball go? I have no idea what a huge mistake for Detroit Robles had stopped at third. He was trying to score. Why did Mckinstry let that ball go? You know the guy at first isn’t going, it puts the catcher in such a tough spot. Here’s Randy JP ended up at second base so he’s in scoring position. One nothing Mariners big opportunity right here, Rosa on the ground back up the middle of the center field. A base hit Crawford speed around third. He will score. Randy Arose Arena has his first RB I in the postseason. He does it against his former Cardinal teammate Flaherty and it’s 2 to 0. Seattle. Good things happen when you put the ball in play. That’s what the Mariners are doing against Flaherty right here. Slider low two. There’s nobody out and the guy who has been the toughest out by Julio Rodriguez got him swinging on a that right there. Keeps him in the game for at least one more hitter. He would have walked him, they would have gone to the bullpen. I firmly believe that would flip Polanco around Naylor hit the lefty two balls and two strikes on Polanco breaking ball, five strikeouts all on breaking balls , the curveball and the slider so far. I think you ride this momentum right here. AJ now, two punch outs in a row in the middle of the lineup, guys that have been hot this series, I think you trust your guy right here, an 11 pitch at bat from Naylor the first time he launches one out towards right center field on the move. It’s meadows. He gets there to the warning track to finish off the inning for Flaherty Harper grounded out a shot one hopper fielded by Polanco. First time up there be some decent swings. First trip through the order swing and a miss on the slider right on cue for the second out third strike out for Gilbert to single his first time. One of two hits for Detroit, both singles, two to hard hit by torres left fielder is a plays, it, it gets past him. Torres is looking for extra bases and he’ll have a two out double in the third. Brings up cold Keith one for three in his first two games back. They are 10 for 52 with runners in scoring position in the five playoff games. They played in the air center field. Rodriguez is over and indeed Logan Gilbert is able to work his way out of that third inning and he makes those two runs. The Mariners scored stand up. Geno leads it off. He walked back in the second Mariners two tigers nothing. The 0 to 1 pitch swing, fly ball tag back and Geno absolutely destroys this. It is gone out to left field. A Eugenio Suarez, his first hit of the postseason is not coming back. It is three nothing Mariners obliteration in Detroit A Ohio Suarez an absolute bomb to left center his fourth career home run off of Jack Flaherty and that’s the of the night for Jack Flaherty. He faces 17 batters. He will be gone after one out in the fourth innings, three runs in. There’s Tommy Kane Lee in from the bullpen for the second time in this series. Here comes Cal two outs 1st and 2nd. Now for the Marin, you better be really careful right here. Bangs one on the ground through the right side of base hit canzone will come around to score and it’s 4 to 0. Seattle. Cal Raley has his first RB I the series. You’ve been talking about it all series long, just about him attacking that first pitch and that’s just a change up, up and away from him. Not a very good pitch. And somehow he just goes up there and just kind of not dribbles it through the middle, but just a three hopper right up the middle. And now julio has a chance to drive in around with a base hit , hits one deep to left field long run for Green who has played over towards the gap, he’ll get there and he’ll make the catch to end the inning and strand a pair. Here’s Riley Green who has hit Gilbert well over the course of his career, he leaves things off dangerous left handed hitter and he gets green looking silly on a slider fourth strikeout. Now it’s the last two have come on the slider for Gilbert two up and two down as zack Mckinstry gets set the bat, Gilbert trying to end the inning here and he does picked up by Raley to throw it down and it’s a 123 inning Logan Gilbert, five strikeouts, four scoreless innings and a groove his 1st 123, his 1st 123 inning tonight. You know, we don’t always say this but early run support for Loki Gilbert. He has been the guy who has drawn the short straw dating back to last year, but the Mariners leading 40 up and in almost hit him, he did get hit. So would have been ball four home plate umpire John indicates it was a hit batter. Four Mariners runner at first. Nobody out. Bottom five. The pitch metal squares to bunt , bunt down the third base line , picks it up with the bear and tough throw to first base to stretch and it’s in time man. That is a dynamite play by a Eugenio Suarez. He had nothing to step into on that throw, had to just grip and release and he throws a strike to first base for out. Number one, here’s Baez since one out towards right field that’s going to get down for a base hit who’s got a great arm is going to it in that ball gets through the cut off and Riley slide up the third base line to make sure he blocked that ball keeping Baez at first base and preventing any advancement from diggler from third. But Detroit has got a little life as they have the top of the owner up and two on in the fifth carry carpenter at the plate. And this is the moment this is a dicey situation for Gilbert two on one out on the ground to second Robles to second for one. Crawford did. He shuffled the ball and the run scores. Dangler gets Detroit on the board. They get the lead out from the runner at first and Baez Crawford’s relay off target Naylor couldn’t squeeze it two down in the inning and Detroit gets a crucial run back runner at first base. Now here is torres payoff pitch runner goes chopped, swing to Naylor flip to Gilbert covering and he limits the damage to just one run quickly. Two away. Here’s where JP needs to grind out a long at bat. I want to get this over with as quick as possible. Gilbert out there fly ball right field way back in writing gone solo home run. JP Crawford a big blast for the Mariners. They add one more. It is 5 to 1 JP going yard an awesome angle. He knew it. Look at that. Is that a flipper drop? But I love, he dropped his head. It’s like he’s disgusted by it. Keith leads off of the Tigers Green, Toral to follow and he gets the splitter to drop a strikeout against Col one away in the sixth. There’s two away Logan 80 pitches as Tor will bat here, he’s zero for two so far. Swung on and Miss got him a beauty of a splitter. Tor swings through and Logan Gilbert Brilliant tonight in Detroit. Matt Brash is on for the seventh inning. Brash, 48 pitches in the first two games of this series. The pitch so got smashed to first base. Naylor has it. Races to the bag steps on first. That’s the out. Matt Brash goes 123. Here’s victor Robles one on and one away out towards right field carpenter to his right and reaches up and drops the ball. It’s been that type of night in Detroit. Raley has gone in for third into second base cruising in his rob and absolutely should have been caught by carry carpenter and there are two in scoring position with one out, popped up out to left field. Green’s got it. Raley is off from third and he will score it is 6 to 1. Seattle largest lead of the night for the Mariners. Big run two takes it away from being one swing of the bat tying the game. Yes, indeed. The Mariners with a chance to add on here in the ninth to that five run lead. 6 to 1. Here’s Cal Riley swinging a well hit ball deep into the gap in left center field. This one is going and going and goodbye. Baseball, Cal Raley with a home run the other way into the Mariners bullpen, 60 home runs during the regular season and now a home run here in the postseason. His second postseason home run and the Mariners are on their way to a win here in game three. There is a Mariners fan and he has a custom shirt, Northwest green and silver letters that says dump 61 here. The ball could not have been scripted better. He’s got a 60 two shirt. That’s impressive preparation. Taylor Ferguson is ready to throw in the night these last couple of innings for Seattle’s offense. Two guys they tacked on three runs and you would think that probably saved the back end of the bullpen with munoz and he bangs the ball to the right side base hit for jake Rogers. He’s more to start the bottom of the ninth. A little life for Detroit down seven and Jamiah Jones backs up jake Rogers off the bench. A couple of baserunners against Ferguson. Now Tor they off pitch down the right field line. That’s a fair ball for, to Rogers will score. Jamiah Jones runs through and he will score. The Tiger is a little light here in the ninth inning and Telson adds on two more. He has driven in six in the postseason. Now as Torg said it’s an 8 to 3 ball game and Munoz might be a little closer to those who have stayed, but they got a little something to cheer about 83. Mirrin and Ibáñez now will pinch it AJ unloads his bench with righties. Ibáñez gets it through base hit. Here comes Toolson, he will score. The Tigers aren’t done yet. Still nobody out the night will be his biggest fan. Best guy out at Comerica. He’s into it and these remaining Tigers fans are into it as well as Senor Smoke. Andrés Muñoz is going to have to come into this game and a little life at Comerica, it’s 8 to 4. So now Andrés Muñoz who was not expecting to pitch, I imagine about an inning ago is trying to come in to finish it off. Dingler skies one out to left Rosa Arena waiting and he’s got the seemingly elusive first out of this ninth inning. Ibáñez goes back to first and here is Parker Meadows. Center field. Here’s the stretch and the next off for the way swinging a line drive caught at first by Naylor steps on the bag to double up IBA at first and the ball game is over. The Mariners win it tonight. A final score of 8 to 4 over the Tigers. They lead the best of five series, two games to one.

  1. Spencer Tork double down right field lines will always be annoying to me lol. Two games in a row, 2 on and this dude clutches up. I hate it. I love it. I love baseball.

  2. Tigers played stupid today. Every good ball thrown to then they never swung, but they decide to swing at the 40-12th splitter in a row. As for the pitching, we better pay skubal at LEAST 200 million. Mariners are NOT that good, our bullpen is just that bad

  3. Seattle Mariners is the only one out of 30 teams who's never proceeded to World Series for half a century since founding. The Poseidon with Trident will allow SEA to do it this season.
