The Seattle Mariners, no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded. Um, but the Detroit Tigers have stated that they’ll put out Casey Mai for the start in this game. Now, at the time this video is being recorded, we have had a bit of a delay in the uh in the Mariners and Tigers match up, rain delay. So, it’s going to be interesting to see how that kind of gets navigated and we’ll do our best to update that for you on Wednesday’s morning show. We’ll we’ll try to talk it through then. And obviously the the level of motivation will be, you know, dependent on how that game sort of shakes out in game three on Tuesday if it gets pushed, what what have you. But, you know, looking at this this matchup just on the surface, you have Casey Mai here who, you know, really didn’t look anything like anything special in that game against the Cleveland Guardians in his postseason debut. It was uh three innings of one-run ball. It was a solo home run that he gave up and what ended up being a six to1 loss for the uh the Detroit Tigers in that g in that series against Cleveland. And this was a uh a Tigers team that lost Mai’s last three starts to close out the regular season. And Mai wasn’t necessarily terrible in any of those outings, but you know, he did give up three runs in two of those starts. The strikeouts were there, but I still don’t know how much I trust Casey Mai here. does have some decent numbers at home this season to where you know he has pitched to a 3.68 RA and an 8-2 record at home. 253 opponent’s batting average. Um but he did face the Mariners earlier this season twice and he gave up a combined six runs on seven hits over eight and two/3 innings of work. The Mariners were able to get to him and I think they could easily get to him here as well. You know, I just think that the Seattle Mariners, you know, have the edge across the board in starting pitching. I just think that, you know, they have one of the best, if not the best one through five rotation when healthy in baseball. And um yeah, I think this is just a a spot for the Seattle Mariners to get to Casey Me once again. And like I’m just not I don’t know why I just can’t buy into the Detroit Tigers in the playoffs. Maybe it was how they finished, but the only spot I really want to back the Tigers in in the series if it gets to game five is Tariq Scubble. So I’m going to lean towards the Mariners here. Um, but you know, check back with us on Wednesday morning uh for the morning show. We’re going to talk about this game and obviously have some uh some uh some commentary about how game three went and uh yeah, we’ll cover it there. But, you know, for for the purpose of this video, I’m still going to lean towards the Mariners here. I just like I said, I’m just not a Casey Meers fan in this spot.
