The contract doesn’t seem unusual. Didn’t Wheeler get a bunch of bonuses set up for non lockout years so he could guarantee he’d get paid? Or did he just set it up to have the majority of the contract paid during those seasons in their regular bi-weekly/monthly fashion?

Well this will piss if a certain fanbase’s narrative that the Jets never sign players and that no player wants to stay. Byfuglien said he loved it in Winnipeg because it was the same as home. Hellebuyck is signed until retirement. Same with Scheifele. Kyle Connor now until he’s mid 30’s is here to stay.
