  1. One of the best moments in Jets history. It was before “tanking” really entered the lexicon but that’s what the question was getting at. Herm wasn’t a great coach but he was a top tier motivator and kept the team in it after a 1-4 start.

He also chose to run with Vinny again while he had Pennington sitting right there.

  2. The quote is historic, but I also enjoy the last 2 seconds which I never heard before from this presser.

  3. The “Six” Stages of Grief for Jets fans.

    1. Denial

    2. Anger

    3. Bargaining

    4. Depression

    5. Acceptance

    6. Wishing Herm Edwards was still the coach.

  4. Took a knee during a potential playoff game winning drive – he never played to win the game, just a blow hard with a sound bite – couldn’t even cut it in college after the NFL gave him the heave ho.

  5. I remember how happy Wayne Chrebet was on Mike and the Mad Dog, when being interviewed after Edwards first press conference. Coming off the debacle that was BB and the HC of the NYJ, heading to NEP, plus the passing of Leon Hess, I was really looking forward to this hire, leading us back to the promised land. I know exactly where I was. Things as we all know, would never been the same.

  6. I wish this message mattered today. Now teams tank (especially in basketball) and a lot of players seem to let up a bit on effort when their teams suck.

  7. Outside of 2020 where we just made the wrong pick, meaningless wins have landed us outside of range for obviously better prospects since at least 2019. When winning is on the table, I’m all for it, but the “just win games” crowd should sit this one out for a while.
