We are Roger Crozier (1) days away from Sabres hockey

  1. Crozier was the Sabres first ever starting goalie. Battling chronic pancreatitis his entire career, he was an early adopter of the butterfly style of goaltending that wasn’t popularized until the 80s and 90s by Patrick Roy. He passed away after a battle with cancer in 1996. The NHL awarded the Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award for best save % from 2000 until its discontinuation in 2007. (If it existed then it would have been won 6 years in a row from 1994-99 by Hasek)
