I'm in love with his mindset as displayed in the Nets documentaries, but there's a lot of question marks regarding his play on the court. On one hand, his jumper was very inconsistent in college, but he was knockdown from deep in Summer League. On the other, he's a playmaker, but he struggles to bring the ball up the floor. So what's his ceiling? What are we hoping for regarding his development? Is he even a point guard, or does he shift as a wing? Any thoughts are welcome!

Sick question for next offseason tbh
Genuinely think this kid can be an all nba level player. He has a really unique skill set and if his shooting continues to improve like it did in the summer, well he’s already a great high IQ playmaker. With the right coaching, injury luck and hopefully some good players around him soon I really think he can be excellent. We will see.
i think he is our highest drafted rookie this year and looking forward to see how he develops. dafuq u talking about whats his potential ? this aint nba 2k
Out of all the recent drafts we’ve had, I think it’s fair to say Egor Demin might be the second most level-headed prospect behind Wemby. Egor has been met with fair criticisms and hardball questions throughout all of his interviews since he’s been drafted to the Nets and every single time you think he won’t give a genuine answer, acknowledge his faults or show that he has a willingness to develop his skills, he’s given the fans what they want to hear. Egor clearly wants to build something the Nets, prove folks who were disappointed in him joining the team wrong and hopefully, be a great. Also, he’s been in the gym a lot during the off season too. Outside of hopefully performing well once he hits the court, is there anything more we can ask of him?
It’s way too early to have much of an opinion on him. For now he’s still a question mark.
The drafting of Egor completely confuses me. His size is intriguing as a PG but if you can’t handle ball pressure then you’re just a wing and if they wanted a wing I would’ve preferred a 3&D. His 3 is iffy and his D is mid at best, so what was the goal here with him? I’m gonna be supportive but I just don’t see how he reaches his ceiling
Haven’t been watching/following the offseason. Does he have any handles?
I think I want to see him play at least 1 nba game
We have to remember, they’re rookies and he’s only 18. A lot of players don’t even blossom until they are in their early 20s
I like him and I think he has potential to be a good player and I also like his attitude he seems willing to learn and put the work in to be his best
Egor seems to have a great attitude and wants to constantly improve. He has a very high BBIQ and can process options so quickly on court plus he’s got that rare ability to thread the needle with his passing.
He should be a highlight reel with his creative passes and who doesn’t like razzle dazzle assists?
His shooting looks much improved from college. If he can shoot efficiently from 3 then Demin will open up a lot of the court and ways to play.
Demin is huge. He should be able to grab a lot of rebounds.
I’m so pleased the Nets finally have a jumbo playmaker. I’ve been wanting this for years.
If he can be a plus defender – and with his size he should be – then the Nets will have a superb player.
I hope Egor and Cam Thomas are Brooklyn’s long term backcourt.
Still I hope we add Dybantsa, Boozer or Peterson next year.
Obviously it’s pretty early but I’m optimistic and excited to see him play. I hope the team can develop him well
He’s going to be a Magic Johnson – Brian Scalabrine hybrid but with Jordan’s intensity
I hope he’ll end up being everything we wanted out of Ben Simmons -Huge playmaker with a jumper but I doubt he’ll make an NBA All-Defensive Team anytime soon.
I think he’ll end up a three and run some point-forward for stretches every game.
May possibly be a smaller Josh Giddey. Which means he’s unplayable on a playoff team.
Literally the single greatest player of all time. Completely unbiased take.
Ask again in two or three years. He’s a bit of a project and doesn’t have a lot around him so I’d expect a lot of growing pains for a while.
