Sacramento Kings Vs Toronto Raptors Full Game Highlights Oct 8, 2025 NBA Preseason

[Applause] Demar D Rozan and catch up with him prior to the start of the game. Our three officials this evening, Gamin is Petraus. Two games in a row, Brandon Schwab and the veteran Derek Collins and the Sacramento Kings open up with possession of the basketball. Here’s Dennis Shruder. Three teams last season looking for a home here in Sacramento. He was impactful for the Detroit Pistons last season. Zack Lavine with it. Here’s Keegan Murray putting it on the deck. Shot clock down. Murray shot. No. Sabonis trying to grab the rebound. This is a first of four preseason games. Javon for the Sacramento Kings. Raptors playing the maximum six. Able to get a defensive stop. Here’s Quick working with Mo BI the open frame. And that’s just really good offense right there. And Mobile making a heck of a play in that mid pickle role and then that kickoff. Right. If mobile can continue to that play that type of basketball where he can make decisions and move the basketball, make athletic plays, he’s going to do some great things. Here’s Jamar D. Rozan over to Sabonis. The three doesn’t go. BI on the glass with a rebound. Here’s RJ Barrett making his way in the paint. RJ is fouled. He’ll go to the line in the act of shooting. It’s my understanding we’re experiencing some audio technical difficulty. Court gets to Ingram on that left side. You know, Jonathan Mo, as RJ’s at the foul line. The first is good. He was a player at the University of San Francisco was an undersized big. He was extremely effective in that role. And as you know, Javon starting here for Purle, you understand that you want to expand and grow his game, but he’s extremely effective as an undersized big. Yeah. And you you know, that’s the way the NBA has gone as well, right? Got to use that versatility and being undersized, sticking and using your your quickness, right, to your advantage. Sacramento Kings a season ago, they were 40 and 42, ninth in the Western Conference. BI looking for a shot. There’s Mo on the offensive glass with a putback. That’s the the quickness that we’re talking about, right? First to the rebound, first up to it and gets that touch. Keegan Murray attacking. Murray in his fourth season. He is rookie extension contract eligible until October 20th. Feel as though they’ll get a deal done. Here’s Ingram. Another three. And what do you get there? Right. A strong side drive down the slot and two passes out. and Ingram the beneficiary again spotting up for that catch catch and shoot opportunity. Murray guarded by RJ Barrett. Here’s Sabonis spinning. Murray swings it and Shruder was looking for Lavine. They’re trying to get on the same page. Shruder thought he was going to pop to the corner. Lavine was headed to the rim. But what did you get? Defense, Matty. defense rotation, guys scrambling, getting out and forcing that turnover. Sacramento Kings as the ninth seed. They got in the playin. They lost to Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks. And after that game was when the owner, Vivic Brandive, along with the then general manager, Monty McNair, met and they mutually decided to part ways. So Harry was brought in soon after that as Sabonis gets the bucket. Well, you can imagine why, right? They’ve made one playoffs in the last 19 seasons and when you have guys like Lavine, Dear and Sabonis on your books, right? There’s got to be some expectations there. They let go Mike Brown a season ago and there was some friction there because Monty McNair did not want to relieve him of his duties as Murray flies in off of the miss of RJ Barrett with a rebound and he’ll bring it across the timeline. Mike Brown now at the helm of the New York Knicks. Sabonis and here’s Shruder with a three. The Raptors defensively dialed in. Yeah, the pickup points are higher on the floor and they’re doing a good job standing off the offense. Sacramento gets a stop. Talking to Dear before the game as Murray is fouled by RJ Barrett, he said, “Look, the focus has been defense and training camp. The offense will come and they certainly have the ability to score at a high rate.” Well, you know, he also mentioned the the conditioning was a focus in training camp, right? You can tell the first couple possessions for Sacramento today, they’re getting up and down the floor in about 7 seconds looking for that first shot, getting into, you know, their secondary offense. Keegan Murray, remember the dunk he had earlier, full court and again getting in open court here, getting himself to the free throw line. 25 years of age, had an outstanding rookie campaign, shooting better than 41% last season, a down year 34%. and they’re looking for him to regain that form that he showed in his first two seasons. An excellent free throw shooter at 83% last season, 34% from three-point range. And that’s something as as a young guy, you got to figure out, right? Your first two seasons, the NBA doesn’t really know your game, right? Third and fourth, they figured it out. So for him, right, your off seasonason, what does it look like? How do you evolve? What are you adding to your game? You can’t just be a shooter. He’s got to be somebody that can put it on the floor, can mix it up a bit to force defenses to stay honest. Got married in the off season. He wants to make Sacramento home as Ingram connects. That’s why he’s here, right? That type of creativity with the basketball, showing you his individual skill. Get another look at it right now. That gap Lavine and quickly a kick ball. I was talking to Brandon before the start of the game and about Monday and he just he was smiling, you know, just and you know that as a player, right, to be back out there, it had been a long time and it just feels good to be back playing. I mean, for a lot of these guys, this is their this is their sanctuary, right? This is their happy place for BI, right? He’s so softspoken, but when he steps on the court, his game is loud. Yeah, there’s excellent point. Here’s Lavine. Step back into two. This shot is so fluid, right? He gets up and he elevates it. Just such a pretty shot. Great rotation, great arc. Part of a three team trade. Bobo trying to get on the glass. Intruder comes away with it. Involved Chicago, San Antonio, and Sacramento as Dearon Fox ended up in San Antonio in that deal. and Kevin Herder who is here in Sacramento go Sabonis is fouled by Ingram his first team second and Sabonis 75% a season ago led the NBA with 61 double doubles he’s at the foul line you talk about the double doubles right he gives your offense so much opportunity because like you seen there rim running under the basket you can get up first the second shot up and he’s going to clean up the basketball under the rim Timeout on the floor. First lead of the night and Abaji denied on the tape. D Rozan Murray steps into a three. Too strong. Barrett with it. Both teams looking to get out in transition quickly. Sacramento doing an excellent job getting back. The intensity there. A lot of room protection. and they’re being physical, meeting the Raptors at the rim. Murray unable to collect the bucket. Ingram now attacking, doubled momentarily. Pass nearly stolen away by D Rozan. Raptors 4 for 12 to start. Sacramento for Baji and Mobo out. Sandro Mama’s Kellis Villi checks in along with Colin Murray Boils. I talked to Colin before the game about how about that you check in for and there’s Joic, you know, and that that was a that was a tough guard right off the bat, but he said, you know, it’s just great to be out there against him. I like the fact that he he came in, didn’t hesitate. That’s Joic in front of him. You know, arguably the best player in basketball right now. And he just swept and got right to the basket as if that was a nobody for his first buck. Yeah. Mamu spinning and shed also on the court for the Raptors and through his fingertips. That was the right idea by Mamukoselli there. Just a little bit too much sauce on it for shed in the in the corner. Shed will pick up Shruder. Shruder and it’s off the fingertip. D Rozan. It appeared to be off of D Rozan, but they’re saying CNB touched it last. And we’ve seen this this type of pressure, you know, a couple nights ago against Denver where the pickup points are so high out on the floor, the pick up 94 ft that, you know, the ball handlers, it’s almost like it’s a hot potato. They’re trying to get it out of their hands, just tossing it away. Darko Rayakovich really believes that you’re just going to see more and more of that in the NBA and certainly Doug Chrissy has talked about picking up 94 ft as well. D Rozan. Here’s Lavine with an open three and he’ll rattle that in. [Applause] He’s pretty automatic from the three-point line, right? 44% from that three in 32 games in Sacramento last season. Ingram ends the drought for the Raptors with a three. Back to a one-point game. He’s feeling pretty good. 11 of the Raptors 14 points for Ingram. Just get him the basketball. Nothing looks forced. He just looks comfortable. He looks fluid. He has a calming presence about him. You give him the basketball. He’s just going to figure it out for you. First bucket for the Raptors in 2 minutes and 45 seconds. D Rozan. RJ Barrett there. Eubanks nearly has it taken away. Five on the shot clock. Shot clock down to four. D Rozan finds Lavine. Turner three with a sweet touch. And you know what? That that’s a part of his game that he’s worked on. And Color Go is getting falling asleep on that strong side corner. That’s a guy that you can’t leave open. Ar doing a good job of trying to get into Jamar’s body, taking away his his handle. GMBB back up. Got to shed looking for Murray. Boils Ingram back to shed. Three doesn’t go wide open. RJ from the crosscourt pass and he connects. Jay Barrett three of six from downtown against Denver. And the Raptors didn’t shoot it well. They made 10 threes. Shooting much better tonight. Four for six from the three-point line. Again, good catch and shoot, moving the basketball. We were having this discussion yesterday just Yeah, you know, there’s Ingram stepping into the three if you can just get the league average, right? And then they’re getting good shot, but a great start for him. 14 of Rapids, 20 points. as Stark Raakovich told us prior to the start of the game, he said, “Look, he’s he’s entering his prime and shed doing a great job that time. He’s entering his prime and but he also has a chip on his shoulder because he feels like the rest of the NBA, the rest of the basketball world has forgotten about him, right? So when you’re when you have that type of fire, have that type of hunger in you, you’re it’s going to bring the best out.” Jacobe Walter and a reachin foul. Uh Dennis Shruder, BI five of six from the field. The rest of the Raptors two of nine. Walter with CMBB. Mamu on the court. Ingram and shed. Shruder guard shed. Two-point lead for Toronto. Shed attacking finds Jacobe and his shot off the mark. CMBB offensive rebound and he’s fouled by Eubanks and the versatility of CMBB. Ability on the defensive end to guard big smalls and then just his strength on the inside 5T and in and then the quickness, right? the quickness and he just has really good instincts and he’s actually a little bigger than I thought initially, right? Traveled with him yesterday and had a chance to chop it up with him a bit and he’s arguably one of the strongest guys at 20 years old. He’s probably one of the strongest guys on the team and you can see on that last possession when he gets the basketball, it’s like he has two vice grips holding on to that ball, right? Nobody can really take it away from him. But for me, it’s his mentality. It’s his confidence that he plays with. And I I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen, you know, the last two weeks. Ingram out, Brady Dick checks in. CMBB was the only Power Five player last year to average 16 plus eight plus rebounds, over two assists, plus a steal and a block while also shooting 50% from the field. I think it also helps if he has a 7 foot wingspan, right? That helps. That probably helps a bit. brother played overseas for seven years. Played at UNC Penrook, North Carolina. 302 on the clock and a foul’s going to be charged to Kellis Villi. And Malik Monk to the foul line in his ninth year signed an extension prior to last season. wanted to be here in Sacramento. And of course, as you mentioned, this is a team that an organization that has only been to the postseason once over the last 19 years. Yes. And it was Mike Brown that led them to that. For somebody to want to be here, be in that situation, a player of his caliber, that says a lot about his commitment, right? Bought a house and some land in Sacramento. If you need it to tell you anything, you need any other sign. There’s Murray Boils with a three as we welcome in those on TSN 4 watching the Las Vegas Aces taking care of business. The rookie Meek Clifford checking in and Keon Ellis is fouled. It’s on Grady Dick with 232 left here in this opening quarter. This is the area for the Raptors, as Coach Darko mentioned the other day, that wants to see less of, you know, fouling, right, and giving extra opportunities, but I think they’re doing such a good job of not switching, right? A lot of teams in the NBA, they run their actions to get the cross match ups, get the match up, get the match ups they want. But the Raptors have done a great job of sticking with your man, riding over screens, and what that does is it forces everybody to to be accountable for their matchup. Javon, how difficult is it because we have seen how aggressive the Raptors want to play defensively, you know, that line of reaching in, fouling, and but yet maintaining that aggression. I I think what you have to do is establish that early, right? So the the officials know your brand of basketball, know the intensity. They they can’t call everything, but if guys are committed to that end of the floor and all five players on the court, right, that sets the tone, that sets the standard. I think the important thing is what happens on the backside. Ball pressure is one thing, but you got to be able to plug those driving lanes, plug those cuts, help him recover, and that’s just as important as the ball pressure. Sabonis will go to the line. Fouled by Murray Boles. That’s the fifth team foul. So, Sabonis at the foul line in his 10th season out of Gonaga. He was an essential figure in the Tyrese Hallebertton trade. And at that time, Sacramento thought, okay, we have the Aaron Fox and Tyrese Hallebertton. Let’s bring in Sabonis. Of course, Hallebertton just tremendous what he has done in Indiana. Unfortunately, he’s going to be out for this season with the Pacers. And then De’aran Fox all of a sudden says, “Hey, you know what? I want to go play with WBY in San Antonio.” Jacobe Walters spinning around fading shot and the soft touch. He made that look easy. Really creative and off that back foot fading away off of one foot rather. Great balance on that shot as a rookie last season out of Baylor. Jacobe Walter played in 52 games, started 18, shot 41% from three in 16 games after the Allstar break. And CNB with that wingspan getting up coming down with it. That’s what we’re talking about. Stopping the the penetration but getting out and contesting and also coming up with the rebound. Raptors on a 10-2 run. Mamu comes over, sets a screen. CNB is going to roll. That’s taken away defensively. Shed now gets to the middle of the floor with a clock down and batted away by Ellis. Mama set some tough screens, too. I’m telling you right now, Matt, if he comes over here to set a screen, I’m pushing you in the way. Oh, I promise you. Come on. Huh? I thought you I thought I’d just get behind you and let you I’m not built for it. I am not built for it. Yes, you are. You got it. You got Senior. You got to You got enough games. Come on now. Here’s Shed at the end of the clock. Banks it in. Oh, the three balls falling tonight. Seven and nine from downtown. [Music] 13-2 run now by Toronto. [Music] Sabonis spinning and Sabonis just going to work and he he’s doing a good job of getting lower under the basket around two feet away. There’s not much he can do if he can, you know, bury Tamari Boas under the basket like that. Walter fouled in the act of shooting by Malik Monk and he’ll head to the free throw line here. Jamal shed last will continue to develop and grow. I thought he did a great job last season of just understanding the NBA game as the season went on, right? He always has the ability to get by with the speed to the rim, right? Getting to the basket early on last season. He had it was tough for him to finish around the rim, but he started to adjust to the speed, the length, the timing of the NBA game. And now as he continues to add that three-point shot with the intensity that he plays with, right, he’s going to be a a big time player and he’s proven that he’s a rotational guy in this league. Sacramento Kings, they they were like, “All right, we’re we’re done. We’re done here at the foul line.” And Jacob’s like, “Where’s everybody going? I got to make these.” So, Walter, three of three from the foul line. Five points coming off of the bench for Jacobe. A good job that time defensively. They get a switch. He now guards Monk. Keon Ellis with the three and a foul. And the foul is going to be on Grady Way. They are [Music] Shand with a rebound. Eight-point lead for the Raptors. 12sec difference. Game clock, shot clock. Arm Kellis Philly sends it back now to shed. CNB comes up to set a screen and taken away. Good job by Sabonis and Ellis with a slam dunk. Raptors holding for the final shot. Six-point lead. Pressured Grady corner three sticks it. That is nice. And those there’s those vice grips I’m talking about, right? Murray Bo gets the catch and right away between two defenders. Zips it out to Grady Dick in that corner and Grady shot
