He’s done. Dude can’t make this roster, then he’s finished.
Either a headcase or just plain regressed. Trade him for what we can get
This is only going to re-stoke the trade rumors again. I wonder if he isn’t happy with being 3rd line. As I don’t understand the move otherwise
Making a strong statement, I trust Dean.
I want Chinakhov to succeed, and I want him to play. But if you look at the lines he truly does not have a spot as it stands. He doesn’t fit the scheme of Deans 4th line so he’s odd man out
I remember the one knock a Minnesota fan had on Evason was when a young player got in hos doghouse, it was impossible for him to get out. I wonder if this is like that.
Looking at the lines from Daily Faceoff left me scratching my head. KJ on the third line. No way Chinny is the 13th best forward on this team. Trade him then. Then again what do I know I am just a fan that isn’t privy to the inner workings of the team. Have to trust Dean but that doesn’t mean that I have to like to what I see.
Dean is an idiot. Clearly letting some personal vendetta push talent away from the team.
I think he’s better than Cole Sillinger. KJ should be on the 2nd line and Chinakhov should play on the 3rd
I don’t see why we can’t just move Olivier down to the 4th line and play Chinakhov on the 3rd line.
Well, I don’t know much — but this is not going to up his trade value. Not implying we should forcibly insert him on a line just to trade him, but at the same time — I do not see how this situation works out in a positive/amicable atmosphere.
I think there wouldn’t be nearly this much hand-wringing over Chinakhov had he not been a first-round pick by Jarmo. If he’d been selected 45th overall in that draft, Chinny might be seen more clearly for what he actually is – a talented offensive player who’s not great defensively and maybe not the best fit for the style of play Dean and Don want to implement. In other words, he’s like a lot of fringe 3rd liners in the league who never really put it all together.
My prediction: he’ll eventually leave CBJ by trade or waivers, play for a couple other NHL teams for a while, then eventually play in the KHL in his late 20s/early 30s. A future 30-goal scorer on a playoff team he ain’t.

Oh the guy who was on point/game pace before getting hurt last year and could 100% develop into the top line winger this team needs. I’m sure he will do that from the press box.
This team is all about earning your spot. They’ve said this.
Chinakov has to prove he wants it.
Hopefully it’s just a game or two. Someone else will screw up and he will get a shot. Maybe he will grab it and not let go.
