[Levine] Cubs will start Matthew Boyd tonight in Game 4 against Milwaukee

  1. Typical Bruce lol always typing on his phone with his eyes closed. I don’t mind Boyd tonight on a short leash and then have Rea available for a potential game 5. Bats are going to need to be active tonight regardless

  2. i really don’t like our chances in a boyd vs peralta rematch, guys.

the offense needs to jump on freddy right away and make this a bullpen game for milwaukee early. the good news is that if we win tonight, i really think anything can happen in game 5. but tonight is going to be a tough task for sure.

  3. Boyd is 12-1 at home and 2-7 away. I know record isn’t everything with pitching, but maybe we should start Boyd at home and then use Rea or someone like that in game 5 in Milwaukee. I think Boyd has to pitch one these two games. I’ll take him at home on shorter rest.
I’m ignorant as to why he’s not, but I’d really like Assad on this NLDS roster.

  4. No real other option. He’s on full rest and has been better at home. Save Colin Rea for game five if we get there.

  5. If we can’t win a game with Boyd starting, we ain’t gonna win the World Series.
Time to put up or shut up.

  6. Boyd has a 2.50 ERA at home and 3.90 away. He’s on normal rest. This was the right decision.

  7. People will freak out, but the odds of Boyd being that bad again are very low. He’s way better at home, and frankly he’s all we’ve got.

Lastly, if your best SP during the length of the season can’t win an elimination game, you don’t deserve to be there.

  8. I mean realistically this is the best move despite how bad he looked in his last outing

  9. If there will be a game 5, he’d need to pitch either tonight or game 5. Knowing that, it makes all the sense in the world to start him tonight. Let’s go!

  10. Did you all see what the Blue Jays did in their series?

They scored 34 runs over 4 games and won the series.

We should try to copy that strategy.

Doesn’t matter much who pitches when you average 8+ runs per game.

    Let’s give it a shot.

  11. Cub fans be LOUD tonight. Should taunt Peralta. Chant Cubbies. This could be our last game of the year. Who the f are we? #FlyThatFnW

  12. Fuck, it’s so hard to feel good about tonight knowing Peralta is pitching. Must be nice for Milwaukee! Still, I’ll be in Wrigley tonight and I know once that 1st pitch is thrown, I’m all in lol

  13. Nobody else finds it fucking stupid that we get the 9PM slot and the dodgers and Phillies get the 6PM slot?

  14. What’s the wind situation at Wrigley? That seemed to play a lot into the game last night.

  15. I never thought I would hear myself saying I would prefer Brown starting over Boyd but here we are
