  1. Don’t boo our team at home you fucking lug nuts.

“We’re booing the front-office and the organization in general”

That’s horseshit and you all know it. The players are out there and you’re booing directly at them. Maybe you’re mad at management, but the players are our guys and we ought to be able to control our frustrations enough to cheer for them. We want them to win, and we’re only frustrated because we know they can.

  2. Booing is a right of passage. They had lost 8 straight at home. Blown at 15.5 game lead in the division and were swinging and missing on the regular. They deserved to be booed when they were. They deserved the cheers after 5 weeks of sleeping.

  3. I found it interesting that Cody Stavenhagen was remarking on his podcast today that Riley needed to learn from Javi on how to deal with media. He’s largely been a proponent of Greene, but basically said he is completely emotionless in the post-game conferences while Javi makes it clear his heart and soul is in the game. (Cody is the one asking the first question in this clip).

  4. There was a very large Mariner contingent behind their dugout at the game.

I admit there were a lot of boos in the beginning but everyone around me was talking about the last few months. They were tired of strikeouts and grounders to 1st. They didn’t hate the team they were closely following the team and frustrated. And yes we all chanted Javi and lost our minds when they finally woke up.

  5. When your team isn’t playing like you know they can, I think fans have a right to boo. Detroit fans have always been loyal to a fault but will absolutely make it known when they’re disappointed. I guess you’d have to be a Detroit sports fan to understand

  6. His response was so professional. I’ve heard other players say stuff like “that doesn’t help” or whatever. But to say “let the fans be fans” and they want to see us play well is 100% the best response

  7. Javy (and the Mets) got booed mercilessly in 2021 after being acquired. Javy responded with an absolute heater of a two month stretch. Javy feeds off the hate like a heel in wrestling.

  8. i was at the game. i wasn’t booing, but the first 5 innings we looked lifeless. it wasn’t entirely our fault, that Naylor unassisted double play when we finally got a hit was simply brutal. i was telling my friend the atmosphere was terrible, the turnout was terrible… but that all the fans needed was ONE THING to cheer about. the KER-RY chants early in game were short lived because he kept getting out. to get the crowd cheering at every ball the team took and strike our pitchers delivered is what we needed. and then it happened. and after i was happy for everyone, players and fans alike. the whole fan base has been waiting for the other shoe to drop every time something good happens because unless you havent been watching, everytime we do good in the past 2 months we let another team respond, or immediately go quiet. its been quite a bipolar experience being a fan lately. and i’ve watched probably 150 games this year and tuned into all of them in some form. also to the mariners fans lurking and then hating our fanbase for no reason kindly F off. you might very well win the series but you also might learn like we did last year sometimes fairy tales end in ignominy

  9. I respect this comment a lot. I’m not someone who boo’s but I understand. I appreciate that he understands and doesn’t blame fans, at least, not outwardly.
