FIRST TAKE | Hahaha Yankees LOSE – Stephen A. GOES OFF on New York Yankees eliminated by Blue Jays
A wa oh lord. I mean it was special. This is what it’s all about. Now that’s the Yankees I know. Thank you to my Yankees for coming through and reminding us what Yankee baseball is supposed to be about. Let’s go. The one two to Bellinger. Swing and a miss. And that will end it. The Blue Jays are going back to a league championship series. They stifle the Yankees and win it five to two. [Music] Keep that energy, dog. The music. I feel so seen right now. This was a very predictable. So se Hey, hey, condolences to Stephen A for his Yankees. Stephen A, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you. The entire Aosta Ruiz family as well. We’re hurting. It’s tough times. Big Yankees fan. Yeah, you guys are one. It’s a deep pain. won a lot. Yeah, please. It’s been 16 years. MJ, MJ, before I before I speak and I get into it, let me just say um Dan Arloski, phenomenal NFL analyst, RC, my brother, but a and Mina, the wonderful Mina K. I want America to know that on a day that I could use sympathy first take to show you how the Benedict Arnolds that are my producers, the First Take producers bring those three. Nobody’s more critical of me than those three. And those are the three people that I’m doing today’s show with on a day like today. So MJ, cheer me up. Please cheer me up by saying good morning to all of my Hispanic brothers and sisters out there. Could you drop a little boy? Could you do that? Look, one thing we’re going to do in the Latino community will come together. We’ll still have a party even if the Yankees Dominican. He might be great. He might be my We don’t even know. Well, Stephen, we have this for you. Quo, if you want to play it, we do have this for you. Stephen, we do have this. No, we don’t have it. No, we don’t. Yeah. No, we don’t. No qu anything for you have that there. With that in mind, we do have a lot to get to on today’s show. [Laughter] Let’s go, baby. Let’s go. Hey. Hey. Let’s do it again. [Music] Every single one of you bullpen game. Nathan Lucas, Miles Straw, all you It takes everybody every day. Start spreading the news. Wow. John Sterling starts spreading the news, taking hits left and right. Rob Parker was a New Yorker at one point in his life. Rob, that that’s pretty cold. That’s cold all around. All right. Toronto’s been waiting a while. That’s pretty cold postgame. I was going to say, you know, when you’re a franchise like the Blue Jays, who haven’t been relevant since the 90s, a enjoy every minute of it. Oh, wow. Okay. I’m just being honest. You know what? And by the way, I showed they’ve been winning eight 92 91 games. They haven’t won in October, but a lot of that is flukish, Rob. Like, we know this, right? Yeah. But we’re talking about the 90s. It’s been a long time, so they should celebrate. I’m not mad at them, but 90s. Like since winning. Oh, since winning it all. By the way, Yankees haven’t won it all since 2009, you know. Yeah, but we’re talking about the 90s compared to 2009. I’m not saying they’re on equal footing, but they got their shots in. All right. Uh for the Yankees level of disappointment because it feels like it’s disappointing, yet they were tied for the most wins in the league. Yeah, I know people are are are disappointed uh and and and they look at it, it’s a failure. The Yankees again, another year, didn’t get to the World Series, didn’t win a World Series. I I’m going to tell people to pump the brakes on all this and be honest with themselves. How many teams could lose their ace Garrick Cole for the entire season? And it’s not an excuse, BK. It’s just fact. You lose a pitcher of that caliber. I know people want to make it like, oh yeah, Garrick Cole can be lost for the year and it doesn’t matter. Put the next guy in and all that. It’s a reason he makes a gazillion dollars. It’s a reason why he’s won uh Sai Young, you know, like there’s a reason and and the team erra wouldn’t be uh 18 the starting pitching in this series if Garrick Cole was there. So, I’m just saying considering what they went through, they had a good year. It’s disappointing ending, no doubt, but it ain’t the end of the world in in a uh in a vacuum. I know what you’re saying coming off last year where a team that makes the World Series like you’ve won the pennant. I like to say that they’ve they you win a pennant. It’s not you’re not just a World Series loser, but the way the Yankees lost in that game five in the fifth and that was it’s coming off the heels of that. So now it’s another year of wow, we have all this firepower and what’s it really for? All right, let me ask you about Aaron Judge. Is he redeemed now? Hit 500, slugged 700. Is the playoff thing behind him? It should be. I mean people, he can’t hit in the postseason. I don’t know how much better you can hit in that situation. And I know it didn’t amount to anything because they didn’t advance, but that home run he hit is an iconic home run. I I don’t That’s a big home run. That counts. Yeah. They won that game. It counts. Yeah. Don’t forget last year and nobody People forget this as well cuz they lost that game against Class A. Hit the the two-run home run, right? And then Stanton followed that up with a home run. That was a big home run in a big spot as well. But nobody talks about that or remembers that against one of the best closers. They the way they lost when Sodto hit that home run. When did Judge hit? Judge hit a home run later in the World Series. He’s breaking out. Hit a home run against class A. You’re not talking about the class. It was back to back and then Stan hit one. Go back. You forgot. We’ll go back. You’re right. If you’re saying everyone’s forgotten that I forgot it. All right. Let me ask you this. Jazz Chisum second base. Anybody can make an error. And the guy played excellent defense in the previous round and was base running. We gave him all sorts of credit, but this ball bounced off his glove. And it turns out he’s wearing a different glove from the previous game cuz it’s a different color. Is this swag over substance? Is this some new glove that he’s not used to and he’s using it for I I don’t even know what reason. No, just you know what I mean? People can nitpick and say, “Oh, yeah, it’s the glove or what?” He made an error. People make error. He’s a fine defensive player. He’s a good defensive player. That’s a big That’s a big play to miss, right? That’s a double play ball. It’s a one run game. They g scored twice. They scored two runs off that. I I get it. It’s a big It’s a big error, but people make errors in in games. I mean, what’s a different glove? Do you know what I mean? All right. Rob, can we Right. Everybody makes errors. We don’t show those on on baseully plays because guys make physical errors. It happens. Everybody does. Brooks Robinson made errors. However, I don’t see this is a guy who was talking about uh his new walk up music last year when they were down 20 but going back to Yankee Stadium and his new sneakers that he was dropping for the World Series. He was unintentional talk talking about it like so I when you say hey he’s super relaxed and he goes out and he plays but when you’re super relaxed and thinking of other things you go out and make a big error you got to wear it a little bit. Uh this is where I’m going to push back and disagree. I think it’s easy after the fact that Boston series he knocked the ball down in the infield which saved a run which even set up that was a huge play. He also yes he also in game three hit the the go-ahead home run against the Blue Jays in his first 162 games with the New York Yankees. He has 40 home runs, 48 stolen bases, 99 RBI’s, 90 runs. that right field porch. I love everything about Jazz Ch. Well, you know, all right, Rob, let’s be fair. You can love all of that and still say, “How great could this guy be if he wasn’t switching gloves and concerned about the color of his sneakers?” If he didn’t switch gloves and made that error, it would still be an error and you wouldn’t be bringing up the other stuff. You would just say, he botched a ball. Bill Buckner was a great was a really good player. He botched a huge ball and we’re still talking about it and you just brought him up, right? You got to wear it a little bit. I’m saying the guy the guy’s been a very good Yankee. He’s been a very good Yankee, but you got to wonder like is he doing his merchandising or his his gear above like having the having a broken in glove? I don’t know. He’s 27 years old. He’s a young guy. 27’s your prime. Come on now. Be fair. That’s your prime. But I but I I I’m not going to look at one play where just in that Red Sox series we know what he meant on that on that play and you gave him credit. So I’m not saying you enjoyed that. Well, true. But he but he made a great play there and we’ve seen him turn some unbelievable double play. I’m not going to kill Jazz Chisum for one era just like I didn’t kill Aaron Judge last year with the easiest popup in the world to open up. He had to see he had to w That was on like you know that was on talk shows you know that was on was on regular talk shows they were they killed him for that by the way you still don’t believe in the Tigers you have you have 8 seconds go ahead Tigers are done right the Mar the Mariners own school he has a chubby erra against Seattle the Tigers lose and the season is over you so I like I you stick to you know your your take you dig your heels in when you loathe a city you loathe it hard I I admire that in you thank Thank you, Rob. We got to let you go. I’m not going to be a flipflopper. That’s not who I am. You can tell he’s in Los Angeles. Look at the clothes he’s wearing. He’s He’s going to the game today. Sunshine. Come on. Everything’s good. Thank you, Rob. We’ll see you, pal. Print my sunglasses.

That's an inadvertent slap. If you're spending gazillions of dollars on players every year, it's expected that you should win the whole thing more frequently. Otherwise there's something off.
Who the fcuk is rob parker
THAT HUGE WATERMARK IS INSANELY DISTRACTING…. MAKE IT SMALL AND PUT IT IN THE DAMN BOTTOM CORNER…
Rob Parker cope 🤣🤣🤣
Dumb show beyond belief. The entire nation + Canada is absolutely thrilled to see the Yankees lose this series. 😂
Every time I see that bigoted, Asian hatin’ steven a. smith suffer, I love it!
It’s even better when he is hurtin’ because my Jays beat the crap out of the yanks?
The Yankees aren't shit. Their fans can be a bit insufferable from time to time. But it's glazers like Stephen A that fawn over organizations like the Yankees and the Chiefs, or whichever team LeBron decides to poison that make me sick. But it makes me very happy when they lose and I get to see these talking heads eat their words.
All Theatre
Rob Parker sounds slow af, does he have M@ga "brain"?
Lmao Yankees fans won’t shut up about the 1990’s either and the 1920’s.
Yankees and Boone are a joke, this idiot making excuses is another joke, "thaaaa Yankees Lose"
The Judge HR is NOT Iconic for the same reason the Endy Chavez catch is not.
Rob Parker is a moron. Shitting on the Jays while defending Jizz Jizzum 😂😂😂😂and he’s being paid for that opinion
Bluejays were much better team. End of story.
Maybe someone remind him of the Bautista bat flip it
you should always win or lose with GRACE
It is an excuse.
Blue Jays lost two of their key pitchers. They not making excuses.
Chisholm is not great defensively. His fielding percentage in 2025 was .962 with 18 errors. These guys don’t know what they are talking about.
Where's Molly?
As a Blue Jays fan this is great seeing Stephen A being disappointed. This is amazing as a Jays fan finally sticking it to the Bronx Bombers in the postseason. Go Jays go.
Total BS. One of the best hitters on the Jays was Bo Bichette this entire series. Sure, Cole doesn't pitch 1 game, but the Jays didn't have one of their best hitters for FOUR GAMES. WTF you talkin' 'bout Willis… go get a pastrami sandwich and shut you azz up, sore loser
What's buddy talking about. Vladdy doesn't care if they haven't won since 93. He wasn't even born. He debuted in 2019. He is ribbing the Yankees as a player who dominated them.
the arrogance of expect to win the World Series every year regardless of their team is why we hate them
