Can we please get serious for a second

  1. He’s right though, many of the QBs this year look either really terrible or not Top 5 pick worthy at all at least

  2. Real talk: if we’re drafting top 5 and the staff sees a guy that they think can be a long term, “win because of” QB and not a “squint your eyes and you have a guy that can start games for you” QB, take em.

Moore and co have elevated rattlers play from unplayable turnover machine last year to this this year, what can they do with a guy like Mendoza or sellers or whatever guy you want to insert here?

  3. This is why I think development in sports is probably a thing of the past. And I haven’t really seen any QB play in college this season that would make us wanna daft a QB this year. I’m not saying he’s a sure thing, but we should definitely see what he’s capable of. He won the job so let him cook.

  4. He’s actively getting better. None of this year’s QBs are home run picks. Trade back for more picks, flesh out the roster and see what happens. Worst case you have top picks in the “stacked” 2027 class. He deserves another year with a better roster. He’s proven that much. Can’t get caught up on wins right now. He’s not the problem.

  5. I don’t think we’re getting a top 3 pick. If any of the QBs separate themselves they’ll be gone by our pick. Trade down and run it back with Shattler

  6. Let us be real. Drafting another quarterback isn’t going to help us at all. Is Spencer Rattler going to be the next Tom Brady? Probably not, but can Spencer Rattler lead us to a Super Bowl? Why not. If Doug Williams, Jim McMahon, and Rich Gannon can get their teams to super bowls and 2 of the 3 of them win, why not Spencer? We don’t need another quarterback. We need to fill in all of the holes that we have. And not blow stupid money and draft capital on another QB. It’s a whole team effort and wasting our first or second pick next year on a position that we are focusing on already with a second round pick this year seems rather silly to me. Let’s get out of cap hell, and build something through drafting and reasonably priced free agents. (When we can afford them.)

This, of course, is my 2 cents, and I have no football management experience whatsoever.

  7. Comment section, let’s get serious for a second:

How much college football do you actually watch?

  8. We can draft whoever qb we want, but unless we get the cap mess under wraps we won’t be able to put anyone worth a shit around a qb.

  9. Have we all collectively forgot about shough ? We haven’t seen the man take a single snap

  10. Rattler is a great QB while we rebuild and could be a great backup and spot starter but I don’t see him being the future of the franchise

  11. OP are you watching other NFL teams? Out of 32, like 20 teams have questionable QB play right now. Including three teams that are 4-1. The talent is not out there at this position and our guy is improving unlike a lot of other teams’ guys.

  12. GTFOH….this post is a joke. Anything less than Brees is never going to be good enough. I say let the kid go/trade him and let him go to a team that will give him a career. With this fanbase, noone not named BREES stands a chance or will ever succeed….hard to play or want to play for a team that there is such negativity. Spoiled bitches most of you. Before long we will find out he ate at a fast food chain once…OH! the Blasphemy!

  13. This the worst fan base on the planet. I’m here to support Spencer cause I’m a gamecock. I see why everyone hates on lsu fans. And I thought Clemson fans sucked.

  14. Drafting players is rarely a given that they will be a success in the pros. If Rattler royally sucks the rest of the season, and Shough has no success either, then I’m on board with drafting a QB in the first round. Otherwise, I say you use the pick at another area of great need, like OL or DL. Rattler hasn’t been bad at all this season. His W/L record doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s a team sport.

  15. Honestly, I’d rather take the best possible player if we’re picking in the top 5 or even trade back for increased draft capital.

The roster in general needs talent and like many have said, the QB class this year isn’t looking great. We also haven’t seen Slough play yet so we don’t know what we have with him.

  16. Honestly if we are Top 5 and can’t find someone who has a good shot of being a leave sack leading Dlineman, multi all-pro Olineman, or franchise LB/RB/QB then just trade back to around 10-15 and hoard picks. Or even lower for a sweet enough deal. Don’t waste a bad year/high pick on on some project QB/DL/OL. If he’s not damn near a sure thing, just spread you chances of hitting on multiple picks.

We’re gunna suck all year, don’t let our suffering go to waste lol

  17. I think most would agree that would be Troy Aikman. Rattler didn’t start the Commanders game so it doesn’t count. He was only 0-10 in starts and now 1-10

  18. Working with the o-line and the team that he’s got, I think he’s doing a pretty damn good job

  19. The way these heralded college QBs are looking so far, Caleb Downs won’t be a stretch at #3 and he’s an absolute stud. I hope we get him.

  20. I like KM, need to give him a little time to get something going. If coach had a better option he’d take it. Hope we get that tall receiver next year, the one in Ohio, but we’re probably going to get a lineman instead

  21. I hate to be negative but we will be drafting top 5 maybe top 3 the next few years. Unless there is an unquestioned stud at qb just keep stock piling good players and more picks. The roster is void of so much talent from top to bottom. I like rattler but he isn’t the long term answer

  22. Rattler is an average young quarterback. We don’t have any other options. Let’s get behind him! He is the leader of the team. It won’t be for long, but he is now.
    Who dat!!
