The quote from Frazier is not surprising. Also, the Michael Scott reference made me chuckle.

They don’t mention he is 25-27 in the playoffs in the 7 of 8 years he made it. That’s just simple job performance.
You can’t blame Boonie or Cash for this.
This article could’ve been copied word for word from this community, a hundred times over the last five years.
When is it enough? It’s just comical that they’re gonna bring this idiot back for a 9th season.
“Eight seasons in, this is the defining experience of Boone’s tenure. His lineups go cold in October. His defense is burned by simple mistakes. And his decision-making falters in the biggest moments.”
Sums it up
Enough with Clint Frazier already
Congrats and giving extra clicks to a nothing article meant to generate clicks from sad Yankees fans lol.
My favorite part was when they say they don’t believe in the eye test and follow a script but then talk about when low leverage man Yerry had a run of good outings so they put him in a high leverage spot because they believed in his form. Not contradictory at all
It’s Cashman
>Boone came to the postseason to chew bubblegum and face-plant. And he’s all out of bubblegum.
Someone call the coroner. 💀
Nothing will change until Cashman and his excel goons are gone.
As A-Rod said, I’m in the camp of: is Boone perfect? No. But he’s far from the core issue. Get the analytics and player strategy team up at the podium to face the music. Most of the problems we all complain about come down to team design/construction, decisions on who plays vs. who sits, defensive shifts…we could go on and on.
Boone didn’t make everyone under 6’7 hit .200
Colorado is a beautiful place, just sayin
Boonie is the heart and soul of this team. You get rid of him Judge demands a trade the next day
Time to go
“Boone came to the postseason to chew bubblegum and face-plant. And he’s all out of bubblegum.”
Love the Dazed and Confused reference, very fitting.
The article even makes a point to say these aren’t mistakes in hindsight. Right away you know it’s the wrong move.
Hey he, hi ho, Aaron Boone has got to go
I’ve seen enough, extend galaxy brain Trashman and the big Baboone 20 more years! Surely something would change between now and 2045, maybe not for the better but it’ll be something different…maybe
I’m just tired of the heartache from this team. Who do you think would be a good manager to replace Boone? I couldn’t believe when I learned that Don Mattingly is a coach with the Blue Jays. Do you think he would be a good choice as a manager?
So easy to second guess. 20:20 hindsight
As much as I can agree that Boone is making errors as a coach, this article really should be aimed at Cashman. He puts the team together and it has become increasingly clear that he has some control over the line-up decisions that Boone makes. Is Boone the one that assembled a team that by-and-large can barely put on a glove or track a ball off of a bat? Is Boone the one that put together a team 2 years ago that had no lefty bats for a franchise whose home stadium favors lefty power hitters?
Boone is a convenient scapegoat for us fans and I would rather have a different guy in there too. Who knows, maybe a coaching change can put a spark in the lineup? However, the blame should principally go to the players and Cashman. Williams suddenly forgets how to pitch for most of the season, so Boone takes him out of the closer role after giving him a much shorter leash than he gave other failed closers, and it’s Boone’s fault. Volpe has one of the worst full seasons of a starting major league player ever (who Boone is clearly and obviously being forced to put in the lineup, as was made clear at the end of this season) and it’s Boone’s fault. Judge strikes out on a slider low and away. Boone’s fault.
Fried is tired and struggling to get hitters out for 2 innings before luckily getting a final out, so Boone makes a change to Weaver to complete the inning. Is it Boone’s fault that Fried is tired? It is Boone’s fault that he went to Weaver there, but in Weaver’s previous 2 outings he had been effective. Can you really blame him for thinking that Weaver had shaken off his bad outings and returned to form? In Fried’s next outing against the Blue Jays, he sucks eggs before getting pulled early. Is that Boone’s fault too?
It worries me deeply that Yankee fans can be so blind about who is truly behind this team’s downfall. A much better case can be put towards Cashman being the real evil behind the curtain, and he’s not even really hiding behind the curtain. It’s quite obvious to see once you realize that most managers don’t really control much outside of daily line-up and in-game decisions, and Boone doesn’t even fully have all of that.
I think this is pretty easy.
I don’t want Aaron Boone to coach another game here. Easy enough.
I also do not want Brian Cashman associated with the organization in any way, shape, or form.
And if those things are true, I also do not wish for the Steinbrenner family to own the Yankees anymore.
Still…
… I never need to hear Clint Frazier’s thoughts about what the Yankees should and shouldn’t do. I don’t need a second opinion, but if you do, Sabathia recently called him a fucking clown.
It’s not literally Boone’s fault for those plays. But things aren’t working and change makes sense. Posada? Gardy??!!
Boone represents the coaching staff. Cashman puts together the talent. Boone and his staff are unable to get consistency out of the players.
I have watched most games this season. At the beginning of the season, it looked like the team was clicking and looked like they had the fundamentals together. By the all-star break it had completely fallen off and they became a feast or famine team.
Towards the end of the season, the Yankees showed they were a defensive liability with Volpe making regular errors and others on the team botching plays. The fundamentals were lost by August. They somewhat came back in September but there were still questionable plays.
Pitching staff never proved they could keep it together. Blowing leads was a regular occurrence. The help acquired mid season wasn’t enough. The bullpen wai reliable.
Next season we get to look forward to Cole coming back. Fried should get better. Schlittler may be the ace by end of season if he gets better. The Yankees have huge question marks in the bullpen and really need a few stabilizing arms who can give you innings. Get back to a staff where the 8th and 9th innings were virtual locks.
I don’t know about the infield. They’re all bad defensively. McMahon being the exception but a terrible bat.
The outfield was probably the best I’ll ever see. With exception to Judge they went cold at the end.
I don’t know if Cashman deserves to be fired. The guy has put together great teams. They need a coaching staff who will keep the Yankees on track and consistent. Raw talent doesn’t win World Series games.
