NHL Highlights | Stars vs. Jets – October 9, 2025
Rope Hints will take the opening faceoff opposite Mark Shley. Shley controls it. Puck is dropped. We are underway. Welcome back to hockey season. This is a nasty pair that you have to play against if you’re on the ice against them. Here’s Robertson streaking in and a shot past the blocker of Hella Buck. He was ready for it. Work by Brandon in behind the net. Steel kept it moving for Miro Hasten. and return to steel up and down the near side boards trying to shed Shley across. Nice pass. How about save rebound score Mo rant in his first opening night in Dallas. He gets the first goal of the season and the stars on the board quickly because he wants this team to be a hard forchecking club and a better cycling team and they’re able to hang on to this puck. forwards involved. Flurry ended up losing his stick in that that initial battle with Rantin and then from that they rerack. No hope trying to cover Miko Rantin in front of the net. Too many points of danger. The quick shot 12 points in the last four openers. That’s video game stuff. Like they’re back to the end of the ads. Start of the Jet series. Back door feed. Double clutch shot. score and it’s Kyle Connor delayed showed off the skill signed the contract yesterday gets the game time goal here teacher on this one to fade away from the Stars obviously out of sorts in their own zone as they get trapped it’s a twoon-one down low with maybe their best two offensive players little too far for Key came over from Boston last year. Keepy unable to get in on Rantin who finds Lungquist. He scores. What a setup by Mo Rantin. And welcome back, Neils Lungquist. One thing that the New Stars coaching staff would like to see an uptick in is defenseman scoring. I mean, a lot of the work is done obviously on the perimeter as Rantin just shuck bought himself a little time in space. Just look at the eyes and the heads of the Winnipeg Jets. A little too far for the reach of Bishial, which is quite a reach at 6’7 for the towering defenseman. Picked off. Johnston goes back for Sean. Racing in and off the right arm of Helle. enough to force it wide. Done a re really good job keeping Kyle Connor in check a lot. It is a hard thing to do. He scores at a rate that rivals that of pretty much anyone in the league. Maybe back for Caves protecting the puck and a penalty drawn as Labouchkin was pestering him. Hellabuk to the bench and under denied meter rider from in tight bench. That was good up ice penalty killing radic box along the wall. Keeps it free of Connor. Good work. The jets off the bar. Valardi. Spread out play for Sam Steel. Wyatt Johnston behind the net back for Sean and a save made that developed quickly. Elab controlled his rebound. Fouron four hockey for the first time on opening night. Hasten took it away from Taves. races in. A penalty coming against the Jets. Duchaine delays back in front. Settled down. Hastinan finds Lindell. Hastinan. Save. Helluck. Read it. Star has stolen a puck at their blue line. This time it’s Hastenan. Occupies Dylan Dlo the defenseman. Nice patience. Tough to do that down low. Little give and go with his hasten. Hanging on. That puck somehow got through to hints. Four on three becomes five on four. Hasten in the blast and a sprawling save by Hellabuk. Hins fell on top of it. Three of them I follow. And the two big defenseman Flurry and Shen just beaver dam the front of the net. Great save at the spread it out. Half a minute to go in the frame. Ranton delays. Shoot. Save. Hits on the doorstep. Came back in and Heluk is able to cover it. bodies had spilled down in the regular season last year and he he’s the only reason the Stars haven’t built a pudgy lead here. He’s been fantastic. 10 left in the period. Low Robertson quickly in front. Back to him now. Johnston skipped away. Hasten right side saved. Hella on the wrist from Rantin. The final seconds will burn out. 56 seconds left in the peeon penalty. A buck 14 left in the follow penalty and a five on three for the stars as they break in across the blue line. Stars with advantage on top of advantage. Hence his pass went off a skate hunted down by Hasten and out of the box peon. They get one back tipped in front. Robertson scored on the doorstep. Two pokes at it, but a power play goal from Jason Robertson to double the Dallas lead. They work on this one in practice. Obviously, they had the penalty kill all disheveled. Missing sticks, scrambling around. It’s real late in what started as a twoman advantage had trickled down to just the single. There’s Ranton and going down low. He knew he had Robertson going to the net. So instead of hammering it at Hellabuk, he sends it into a tippable area. Little follow up from the man they call Robo. Got a 3-1 lead now. They are one for four on the man advantage. And Nico Rantin assisting along with hints. Matthew Shane spins it to Sean who scores straight to the highlight reel on opening night. Beautiful from the Stars to stretch the lead. Good gracious. He knows it’s trapesing to the far pipe. Wonderful puck movement. Good net drive. Middle drive by Maverick B. Hungry club right now that’s feasted to start the third. Looking for more. Thomas Harley finds Lungquist. Good movement. Shot. Score. Wyatt Johnston through traffic. It is raining goals here in the third for Dallas. A 51 lead. It has disintegrated here in the third. Stars have been excellent at hanging on to the puck a little bit, creating some space. The Jets have not been great at closing on them and the Stars have created off of that. Again, somebody right in front of the net. Tyler Sean have obviously dictated play. Here’s Baron after the cough up. He’s in fed for Pearson and the save made by Anger. Seven left in the fouron three. Plenty more than that on total power play time. Duchain and the pass is broken up and here comes Baron the other way. It’s Kobe trying to catch him out of the box. Baron backhand. He scores a shorthanded tally on the four on five. as Barrett from the penalty box to the score sheet gets the Jets back on the board. Part of the Jets game tonight has been their penalty killing. He’s been a humongous part of it. Look at him pick him up. Put him down. Fend off a check. Wind it to the backander doesn’t utilize his stick to maybe try to po check. Tons of speed coming at him. Rope hints. lost it there. Connor comes in. Numbers for Winnipeg. Connor shot saved and the rebound went to where Shley was, but Johnson lost a glove on a slash. Recollects it as Shley will turn, chip it ahead. Connor’s going to chase after it and he comes. Connor save. Rebound scored. The Jets do indeed get their second straight shorty. and he’s able to follow again. You know, Shley just lays it out for him. They have good speed going with their penalty kill. He has, you know, blistering speed on his off wing. Rolling puck, tough to read, tough to control. Nice follow up. Two goals in the game for him. The star still very much in the driver’s seat. Haste getting tugged down. Play goes on. It’s Kobe’s redirection. Went back on his own net minder who had to alertly turn it away. Morsy up for Kyle Connor. Back for Dlo. Had to chase it down. Shely escapes. Got it to Connor. Defenseman fell down. Connor scores. Hastin and fell down. Connor gets the hattick. And with 303 to play. Winnipeg has climbed back within a goal as the hats rain down here. Man, that is as uncharacteristic as you’re going to see from from Mero Hasten. And the the Jets are able to take the line. You can see how far back Miro was. A humongous gap and he falls down. So a gap and it’s Shley who settles it down on the wall. Got it off a body. He’s taken by Johnston. He will clear it out and the Stars hang on. [Music]
Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists as the Dallas Stars held on to beat Kyle Connor and the Winnipeg Jets 5-4.

A win is a win despite that almost hideous ending in the 3rd period by the Stars (giving up two shorthanded goals in that period is inexcusable). The Stars' sixth-straight season opener win which currently the longest streak in the NHL.
Damn that was a wild hockey game.
Won, but good lord that was a load of stupid, especially in the 3rd; Betcha glen is gonna give them an earful. Almost reminded me of Vancouver last year
Kile Connor on fire early 🔥
The Stars dominated the first 50 minutes of this one and were up 5-1 in the 3rd and then went on the powerplay. The Stars proceeded to lose focus with the game seemingly in hand and gave up 2 quick shorties but managed to hang on for the win.
GG Stars fans, happy my team at least didn’t lie down and die despite the loss
Otter hopeful got woken up here.
So glad Stars hockey is back! Mostly a great game from the Stars!
Hellebuyck back in playoff form 🤣
The Stars should Never take their foot off the gas with Otter in net. He's capable of a complete meltdown at any time.
The audio was annoyingly off sync
Rantanen 100 points this season easy!
So great Stats hockey is back!
GG Jets!
So good to have hockey back. Go Stars 🤩
I don't care who disagrees but the sooner WPG realizes that Hellebuyck is a sh*t goalie…the better! WPG has a great team but Hellebuyck looks like he is playing in a playpen. He is a huge goalie and always giving up rebounds, flat on his stomach or on his knees! He needs to stand up more, not fu*king around trying to look good because it's not working. Once again, he let us down! Look for a better goalie WPG! GO JETS GO!
Hellebuyck is a fraud
Congrats on the win way up North from The Stars, The Jets managed to rescue some dignity late on cos they were getting schooled badly at home!
Idc what they say Kyle Connor is the most underrated under appreciated player in the league
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Валидольная зрелищная игра
Выдаём далласу полосатую форму!
Connor 60+ goals this season.
