Orion Kerkering on the field as the Dodgers celebrate

  1. Isn’t that the first thing you learn in little league, to know how many outs there are?

  2. It’s the least the Dodgers can do. Invite him in the locker room let him spray a champagne bottle.

  3. Man, this just sucks. I feel bad for Kerk.

Top of the lineup goes 1-14 and no one could hit. Just kept on adding pressure to pitch perfect innings.

It’s easier to dissect it and say he could’ve thrown to first after the fact but in the heat of the moment I get it.

  4. I’m not even upset the season is over I just feel bad for Kerk and his mental health. Baseball is cruel. Fans are cruel. He’s a good kid that played his ass off and he panicked. It’s a real humanizing moment and it’s going to follow him the rest of his career.

  5. Both offense from both teams were so ass. Ohtani was ass this series OFFENSIVELY. Sasaki saved them.

  6. Every member of the Phillies is responsible for that loss. Had they had a better game, or series, he would not have been put in the position he was in. It was a mistake, but one that every chance before it led to.

I hope that is what is discussed in the locker room. Share the responsibility for the loss.

Orion should not have to shoulder it all. And I hope he finds a way not to.

  7. Can’t blame the kid for that. Phily couldn’t even hold home field advantage, losing both games.

  8. Unfortunately for this guy that is like an all time photo lol at least for the dodgers.

  9. As they used to say on the opening to “Wide World of Sports:

    “And the agony of defeat.”

  10. Feel bad for the guy. As a Dodger fan. Happy we won. But as a human being, I feel bad he messed up what should have been a routine throw. Nerves can truly mess with everything. Exhaustion from the already long day. Etc. I hope he is given a chance at redemption.

  11. I give Kerkering a break.

He was still on the mound when the grounder came to him. It was not an easy play to make, especially for a pitcher.

  12. I was listening to the game on the radio. My question is should he have thrown to first base for the out? Would have that been the safer way to go?
