What’s going on, Jerome? It’s beautiful Friday. Birds are chirping and stuff and it’s time for another Vikings news dump. So, it only took a bunch of days and uh looking like Seattleite now. So, got the Kraken hat. Screw the Wild. Actually, no. Wild are great, but I don’t know. Can you get out of the first round? Be great. Uh got the stupid hipster glasses as well as uh stolen supersonic shirt. There’s some underrated super squads. Sean Kemp, Gary Payton, debt left shrimp from back in the day. Let’s go. Let’s go, man. Also, uh, I need to dye my hair purple and get a nose ring or what what’s it called? Mine’s like the bull. Is it septum? Is it septum? It’s septum. There you go. Anyways, something that uh not septum, more like septic septic tank. Uh, sepsis. Uh, is the Philadelphia Eagles, right? So, oh, they’re so big and bad. Oh, look at them running four tush pushes in a row on national television. Whatever. Touchbush is going to get banned because of this idiocy. All right. And they lose 34 to 17 to the Giants. The Gmen. Let’s go. So, two in a row going to be three in a row. The Eagles are ferrows. Honestly, Herz is atrocious right now. Mechanics are bad. Throwing downfield is bad. AJ Brown and Dvonte Smith are whining. Uh they they can’t run Saquon because they got 7 75 men in the box uh against them. And it’s just you hate to see you hate to see it. Things you hate to see that it’s good. Also got some other things. There we go. Uh so something to watch. So the Eagles do have the mini buy before taking on the the Minnesota Fighting Vikings week seven historic US Bank Stadium wrap sheet. Uh Eagles quarterback Quiny Mitchell hamstrings questionable to return. He was ruled out. So something to watch there. Also Cooper Deene uh got banged up as well. So, the Eagles, the Eagles are sort of hurting right now and they’re looking like paper champions and they’re staring down the barrel of three and three very quickly. It’s going to be good to see. Also, uh, no, three and four. Also, a couple lessons to take away. So, Jackson Dart, they’re just flying around. Scaboo, three touchdowns, which we love to see. But Jackson Dart, 22 years young, and yeah, the first three games started by Russell Wilson, but now he’s a peacock captain. and you got to let him fly and he’s chucking the ball all all around using his mobility legitimately keeping the ball on read option which you never see all right you never see outside of college football but there are some things to take away uh with JJ McCarthy here uh from Jackson Dart let your 22-year-old quarterback learn on the job and utilize his skill set because Jackson Dart you know throwing downfield he makes some good plays makes some terrible plays right but he’s learning on the job and his mobility is a great weapon and asset. That’s what something that Kevin McConnell has to utilize once JJ McCarthy gets back. Speaking of JJ McCarthy, when will he get back? Purple persuasion. An update on Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy from Darren Doogie Wolson. I think at some point, whether it’s next Wednesday or Thursday or both, McCarthy is going to be a full participant in practice. Wednesday, Thursday will be the first two days of practice getting ready for the Sunday game for the Eagles. The Vikings do not know who their starting quarterback in 10 days is uh 10 days from now. And uh we said it yesterday, I’m pretty concerned about Carson Wentz, right? That non-throwing shoulder. I feel like his throwing shoulder is actually a little messed up. He’s got that rib issue, too. So, he’s a hurting unit, man. I mean, the by-week definitely came at the right time for the Vikings. But also, I feel like if J if and when JJ McCarthy gets healthy, he’s the guy. And he Jackson darn like sink or swim, you’re rolling with your 22-y old quarterback. That’s right, man. Also, uh, Vikings point out they’re actually 6 and0 in London. So, the Vikings in the regular season moved to 5-0, but also back in 1983 before the Lesl era for the Vikings, uh, the the Vikings led by Tommy Kramer, the pride of Rice University, so I’m predisposed to like him. Uh the Vikings beat the Cardinals 28-10 over in Wembley uh in a pre-season friendly as it were. Uh attendance 32 uh 328 which if you ever seen Wembley that I mean the stadium was like a third full is what it is but yeah the Vikings are indeed six and0 in London. A Vikings of London just undefeated in London just like the historical Vikings. Good to see also good to see Harrison Smith. So when Harrison Smith decided to return for another season and him working his way back from his personal health issue, everything’s beautiful to see, right? And also Harrison, I feel like Harrison is sort of like me, like he’s a crotchety old man. It’s good. Vik page Viking safety Harrison Smith had one request for Kevin Con before returning his season. This season, no hotel bed checks the night before a game so he can get a full night’s sleep before game day. Now, you know, a a dude in his mid-30s can get away with this, but I mean, if a 23-year-old rookie or second year player is just like, “Uh, coach, no bed checks because uh I need a full night’s sleep.” Uhhuh. Uhhuh. Uhhuh. Uh, we signed a little separate agreement between him and I, little handshake agreement. How do you sign a handshake agreement? That’s the antithesis of uh if he gets bed checked, he’s got a fine in place. Harrison says, “If you wake me up on Monday morning, I’m coming for your wallet.” Which kind of hilarious, man. Yeah. Also, uh, so he he was Kevin Khan was on with Pete Shreger. Uh, also another little tidbit out of that great conversation fan page, uh, Kevin Con said he talked to Shawn McVey and Andy Reid before the season program offseason program even started about Carson Wentz. He mentioned to Pete Tres. I was intrigued by the idea of it, especially with a young quarterback like JJ who was going on this journey. So, as we sort of summize, you know, Carson Wentz just magically was a free agent all off season, all training camp, wasn’t even on the 90 man. All of a sudden, you know, the Vikings tried things out with Sam How Brett Ripen. Did not work. And so, it’s like, oh, Carson Wentz, oh, you’re you’re here. Oh, oh, oh, oh, L. Oh, all the diligence is done. Yeah, that was in the bag where I don’t know. Carson Wentz have the playbook during the offseason. Oh, don’t know. Don’t know. Don’t know. No. Just talking out loud. Not definitely not casting a Spurs on anyone or anything, but it’s good to see him get up to speed so quick and hopefully he is healthy because honestly a a a a true competition as it were between a healthy Jaden McGarly healthy Carson Wentz would be the best for the Vikings. Not picking a quarterback uh based on who’s the least injured should be good. Also likes Matt Page. Justin Franken Jefferson quietly doing things doing it and doing and doing it well. Uh Justin Jefferson this season 4 and getting old. It’s tough to read. 449 receiving yards third in the league. 15.5 yards per catch. Third also ripping off like 17 yards per catch against the Brown. It’s good. Uh eight receptions, 20 plus yards, tied for fourth. Two 100 yard receiving games, tied for third. So he’s doing this with JJ McCarthy, first time starter. Carson Wentz who he had no uh little to no training camp reps with and he’s just getting it especially with his offensive line in flux quarterback being used as a piñata and Justin Jefferson is still dragging this team to relevancy. It’s awesome man. Also Vik Communications 524 career receptions are six most in a player’s first six seasons in NFL history. By the way, he still has most of his sixth season left to go. He needs just five receptions to move into second. Deandra Hopkins 528 and 41 receptions and claimed a top spot. Jarvis Landry 564 except Jarvis Landry probably gained 400 yards in those 564 catches. Let’s fight man. Also new Hopkins underrated, right? Uh because people So new Hopkins sort of gone down the the the old wide receiver trail. I mean Randy Moss did that. Julio Jones did that. So you sort of forget how dominant he would like. New Copkins back in the day was just legit, man. It was the opposite of legit. Well, actually, so for stakes wise, medium rare for me personally, personal preference is the way to go, right? And now I can sort of see, especially if you get a like a really well- marbled ribeye, that medium sort of makes sense because medium rare doesn’t render out all of that fat. And plus sometimes some unless you got really high heat, it’s tough to get a really good char on the outside. Fully understand that. Fully get. But for me, default weather basically any kind of steak outside of like skirt and medium rare is the way to go. But tell us man, so a lot of the Vikings like their steak medium well plus, which is basically well done, right? And also Byron Murphy Jr., God bless him, likes his steak butterfied and then medium well, which is basically shoe leather at that point. But it is what it is. Um, I don’t know, man. But the defensive backs seem to like things medium well. Josh Mattel, Fo, also likes his medium well, but then the offensive lineman, the offensive lineman get it. They understand it. Maybe they’re my brother, my countrymen. So jump and Joe Huber medium rare. Christian Darasaw medium will allow it. Christian Darasaw could like his steak nuke nuclear nuked like micro. We’re gonna microwave this steak for 20 minutes. CD, you do you, man. That’s how good he is. All right. But again, there’s just something just something. I feel it. I don’t know what it is. Like beautiful char on the outside, well seasoned, little salt and pepper action. Just maybe not puab if you but just that. And the juice is flowing. Everything, man. Everything. Get a egg in there, too. Why not? Why not? Speaking of, we have the meats along the defensive line. Uh this is from uh Pro Football Impact, which I I don’t I don’t know what what these rankings are based off of. But I don’t care. As long as I see a Viking uh up high, it’s good. Top 40 defensive tackles through week five. Jeffrey Simmons, maybe heard of him. Malik Collins, that’s that’s just cuz he played the Vikings. Byron Murphy II, not junior, the second. And then lookucky lookie. Here comes hookie. Jaylen Redmond number four. They got Bar Derek Brown. Uh Mororrow Joo the Pri Texas getting things done. Osa Deazua 88 Isan Robinson. Aan’s been around forever. Seems like it. And then Sheldon Rankkins. Um absolutely getting things done as well. He’s bounced around the league quite a bit. Uh but Redmond Jay Red where Quasy literally found Aaron Donald in the in the USFL and he gets zero credit, but is what it is. But Jaylen Redmond, Boomer Sooner, the pride of what team was he on? The Houston Renegades, I don’t know, doesn’t matter. But Redmond is good against a run, getting tackles for loss. He is slippery as hell and he has amazing first step. So, we’re very lucky to have him in the mix and in the fold. Lastly, so jumping Joe Flacco beat the Packers early in the season, has a chance to do it again on Sunday as he got traded to the Bengals. just chucking up balls. Uh to Jamar Chase and T Higgins, please Flaco, one time. One time. That’s all we’re asking. There you go. Anyways, it’s going to be very disappointing if the Vikings do not beat the Eagles ass. Like, it’s a foregone conclusion that the Vikings going to beat the Eagles, but we’re going to whip somebody’s ass. Like we’re talking about 25, 30, 37, 49, 59, 20,000 point win for the Vikings.
